So, this place has changed names on its store-front. It's now called "Something" Oaxaqueña. I can't remember the first part. Anywho, to the good stuff...the food. I've note been here twice and they have the best steak tacos I've had, short of the ones in Mexico or El Paso, TX. They are FULL of tender, well-flavored steak, topped with cilantro and onions (like a true Mexican taco!). I added sliced avocado, their green salsa (medium heat), a little lime juice and a little salt (saltoholic!) and I was immediately back in Mexico, tearing up some tacos. Don't sleep on these. My wife had the same thing as on our first visit; an enchilada and a chile relleno. She loved both of them. This is Ohio and this is where the Mexicans eat. It's authentic. This place has a new name, but some of the chairs inside still have the "El Taco Felix" name on the back. I was looking for a new restaurant to try and stumbled upon this place. The staff was friendly and I was seated quickly. The street tacos were very flavorful and the chips seemed to be fresh. I wish the salsa had more flavor, but it was good. We had dinner at El Rincon Oaxaqueno yesterday. It was the most delicious, authentic Mexican food we have had in this area. From the homemade tortillas and queso dip to the huge Chimichanga platter, everything was delicious. The clean and spacious interior is welcoming. The parking lot is big. If you are looking for legitimate "authentic" Mexican food, than look no further. There are so many Mexican joints in the area that even advertise themselves as "authentic" on their signage but they are nothing compared to what you'll find here. First, I've had Pozole many times where it's more common like in Texas and other southwestern border states, and it's such a phenomenal dish ( one of my favorite meals from any cuisine ). It's extremely hard to replicate on your own, unless you have a lot of patience and access to a specialty Mexican market. This scrumptious soup mainly comprised of pork, hominy, and various chiles, is served piping hot with an assortment of cold toppings to both compliment the spices and offset the temperature. Traditionally it goes: chopped cabbage, white onion, and radishes, as well as finely chopped cilantro, crunchy tortilla strips and some halved limes. These toppings are on a separate plate so you can do with them as you please. At Taco Feliz, which is pretty run down both outside and in, and with employees that speak almost no English, I knew they would have Pozole ( which I have yet to find anywhere else in the Cleveland or Youngstown area). I was right. They offered a red or green version. ALWAYS get the red. They offer chicken or pork. ALWAYS get the pork. If you alter from these choices then shame on you. So I ordered and added a Steak Torta (almost a Mexican Big Mac with very fluffy bread.). The Torta was phenomenal, with juicy and tender thin slices of steak, avocado, pickled jalapenos, lettuce and 2 different sauces on either sides of the bread). The Pozole was very good...I'd give it an 8.5/10. They did try and bring out lettuce instead of cabbage as a topping--so make sure you correct that colossal injustice. So why the 4 stars? Well honestly after our second visit I just have to say it...the prices are outrageous. On this second visit I got the Pozole again and Torta, with my wife getting a veggie fajitas dinner...and we sprung for 2 cobs of street corn--which we found out when the check came were 5.99 a piece for the tiniest cob of corn with some mayo and seasoning sprinkled on it. Waters for drinks, a soup and sandwich (essentially), and fajitas with no meat and the tiniest portion of Mexican rice and beans brought us up to $56.29. Then they had the audacity to charge us an extra $2.00 processing fee because we paid with a card. This is WITH a $4 coupon. If the server wasn't such a sweet guy I was going to take the 2 bucks out of his tip but I left him over 20% because I'm not a 'you know what'. It's a shame we can't seem to eat here for under $70 bucks a pop or we'd be regulars. Fantastic food though, so at least try the place out once! read more

If you've ever been to Mexico, and eaten at a restaurant patronized by Mexicans, this is that place. And to make it clear. Great place, immaculate, friendly, and next to a Latino grocery. Everything I got was on point. And I mean, I've pretty much hit every joint in Trumbull, Mahoning, andColumbiana. This spot was outstanding in its authentic flavors. Ceviche, tamale, street tacos, chimi, this is it. Like half a mile past Eastwood Mall off 422 towards Warren in a little plaza. Wow, this is probably a true hidden gem in the Youngstown area. The flavors here can stand up to some of the places you'd find in bigger cities or the west coast, like California. I went back a second time with a friend and was disappointed. They had trimmed their menu way down and sort of "dumbed" it down as well to more closely match the Tex-Mex melted cheese emporiums that are common here. They almost never seem to have any business at all, so that would certainly explain the attempts to change, but it's unfortunate. My first visit in 2016 was so different. It seems to me they are in a really bad location (mostly empty out of the way strip mall) and don't do much of anything to advertise or promote themselves. That's really unfortunate and I hope they either find a way to turn it around, or just cut their losses and open the Mexican market part of the operation somewhere else. read more

I wish I could give this a negative star and I honestly have never ever wanted to give a bad review. We chose to go here after reading the great reviews on Yelp! I usually trust my fellow Yelpers but man this place was nothing like they raved about. We went Fathers Day and there was one other family in the building. That should have been our first clue.... but we went went it and sat down. It's got a very cute decor, loads of tables... but beware every chair feels like it could be on its last legs. They wobble badly. No problem we shrugged that off, too. The menu offer loads of different dishes which was really exciting and looked amazing in the photos. We ordered our meals and About 5 minutes after that we were brought chips and salsa. The chips were greasy and had an aftertaste -- but my husband and sister loved the very spicy salsa. Things really started going down hill with the odd flavored chips. My husband ordered a Patron margarita and it arrived hot with maybe 5 melted ice cubes in it and black floaty things!!! It tasted awful! We sent it back. Now it's been almost 40 minutes by now... there is the girl who took our order now cooking while talking on a phone in the back (I could see her through the service window). Next we had our Queso Fundido arrive. But it was not a dip at all -- it was soup! Cheese soup with greasy chorizo on top! I even shot a video to show you. At that point we did something we have never ever done. We cancelled our order paid $5 for the two Mexican cokes we had and went elsewhere. :-( it was really that bad. The worst Mexican we have had the displeasure of eating. I don't want to come across as trying to be humorous at all. That being said, looking at all if the older 5 star reviews, maybe my food was very good and edible several months ago. Unfortunately, the food literally tasted and appeared to have fermented for months. Brown lettuce, brown $10 guac, rancid and genetically altered refried and regurgitated beans, ground meat looking substandard and suspiciously foreign next to what my cat had for dinner out of a can. Wishing I had just consumed beer for dinner as they looked great and would have been a much less violent case of diarrhea. Please don't offer to replace my food. Sickening. the tacos and tamales are great, they have cheap alcohol , TVs with soccer , nice and clean envirinment, big menu with seafood and lots of other authentic Mexican dishes; and you can buy your Mexican groceries in their store. Absolutely outstanding. We have driven past so many times without realizing what we were missing out on. Delicious restaurant attached to an awesome little market that sells Mexican ingredients far cheaper than any grocery store. The tamales were moist and tender. Sope was really good. The tacos are the absolute BEST anywhere. Highly recommend the barbacoa (my favorite) and the al pastor. Even the salsa that comes with the chips was so delicious.
