First time eating food from here. Got the street corn, carne azada fries, and barbacoa frito. Street corn was amazing! Definitely the best thing out of the three for me. Been here a few times, but today did take out. Ordered their 12 tacos to go and a side of quac. What a value. First the tacos were displayed in a great manner, (we like the way dishes are served BTW) with all the sides in containers. Did an equal number of pork; steak; chicken and brisket. PERFECT! Then the side of chips with the quac was enough for two servings! So if you don't want to die in and you want take out, you will not be disappointed! read more

Very flavorful and nice quality of food. We had several people attending to our table of two so we wanted for nothing. I had the macho fajitas and was happy with the platter of toppings, guacamole, sour cream, onions, tomatoes and sliced lettuce. The hand pressed tortillas were delicious and hot (it came with 3- could have used 4.) The sizzling pan of carne asada strips, red and green peppers and sliced cooked onions with seasoned grilled shrimp was delicious! Also, my lime margarita was spot on to taste and plenty strong! I would rate this place 4.5 stars but the booths are made of a hollow plastic and I could hear the raucous kicking of the kids behind us on either side. Was in the area around lunch time saw the reviews for this place and decided to stop in. The inside is cool, modern and alot of little details to look at. Good options on the menu from tacos to quesadillas, fajitas etc. Chips and salsa was good. I got 2 carnitas tacos one of the options on the menu not sure of actual name. I really liked them but in both tacos did have some really tough pieces. My so had a chicken breast meal with a sauce on it that was very flavorful. So good that I was dipping my tacos in it. We sat in a booth there are booth and table options. I would reccomend sitting at a table. This is why, I am a very small person and normally prefer booths but I felt like the back of the booth was very tall which is fine but the actual seat portion was extra small. If I felt that way I'm sure others who were not born vertically challenged would be very uncomfortable sitting here. I was, would prefer a table if ever returning. Restaurant looked clean but we got take out. Nothing was labeled so we had to go and look back at the menus to figure out what was what. The Gringo taco bottoms fell out when picked up, Campecheno was bland and the Alcarbon did not have any flavor. I thought about taking a Covid test because I could not taste anything until I tasted the pineapple in the meal. Chalk one up for Mother Nature they could not take the taste out of the pineapple. So I paid $50 for food that had no taste. Thanks for the lesson I will be eating at home more for a lot less. read more

We've heard a lot about this place and have been twice so far. Our first experience we went with some friends, no kids, and we're sat pretty quickly. Naturally they bring us some chips and salsa which is pretty standard. The place was super busy and from all the chatter it seemed rightly so. It seemed like the trendiness wore off pretty quickly as our server showed up after passing us around 8 times. Maybe she was unaware we were in her section...however it took around 15 minutes to get our drinks. Why does this always happen to me and not any of the other yelpers who gave this place 5 starts? She apologized as I think she maybe was a little scatter brained that day but the place was not that busy as we were there post rush hour and it seemed like she had something else going on. Any way the chips and salsa kept coming...but it took an act of congress to get a second round of drinks. Eventually she yielded and took our orders. My burrito was large and in charge; however it was not as fast as I thought it'd be (around 20 minutes) but it was hot, nonetheless. It seemed like our order was either forgotten or entered in very late. As we were there around an hour at least she brought some cinnamon things to say sorry which was a nice gesture. However one wants your dinner to be an experience, not an apology. I have been back since with my family and our experience was the same. Pretty darn good food, better Mexican food than anywhere else we've been but the service just was not up to par. Side note that all the outlets are at head level and have usb charger ports on them, which is nice. Overall 3 stars. read more

What a little hidden gem! This place makes authentic Mexican street food and is tucked in a shopping strip. The restaurant upon entering is minimalistic modern industrial with high backed booths. It was clean looking. We were greeted immediately and when we asked if there was a bar, we were directed to a hall in the back of the restaurant. We walked past the open kitchen and the bathrooms to find a second little room with a small, but full service, bar and three high top tables and a couple TVs. Signage said you needed to be 21 to sit back in this space. The staff person put on the ball game for us and gave us menus and complimentary chips and salsa. The chips and the salsa were delicious. He was very happy to wait on us. There was a large tequila selection and menu of margaritas. The beers on tap were mainly from Mexico including corona. The liquor selection was vast with several flavors of each. They could probably make about anything you've ever had. The menu wasn't large, but it all sounded very good. We tried a couple of the tacos. Both were made with very fresh ingredients. They even gave you a cup of pickled cabbage! I've never had a Mexican restaurant in the U.S. offer that condiment. The tacos were both very good. Everything tastes made in house. They were authentic and served without cheese. I don't like Mexican restaurants that serve everything smothered in melted cheese and floating in a swamp of liquefied beans. The food was tasty and decently priced. The chicken marinade is bomb.. like I could just eat the chicken alone and be happy! My husband also loved the street corn. The booths that everyone complains about are just shallow, meaning the seats themselves, the part you sit on, are shorter than most booths... which was weird, but not at all a deal breaker. I found this place by accident thanks to Yelp. It's a very unassuming location next to a Tractor Sipply store in a strip mall. It looks tiny and hard to find from the outside. Stepping in is a surprise, much larger than you expect, very clean with a modern Mexican decor. The service was friendly, quick, attentive and accurate. The food also was phenomenal. I complain constantly about the quality of Mexican food in and around Cleveland. It's generally terrible. This place was excellent. I had a gringo taco, barbacoa, and Al pastor. Recently I got back in touch with a friend that I used to always go get Mexican food with. We used to go to a little spot in Willoughby, but they changed ownership and she said they just aren't the same, so I asked what her new spot was and she raved about El Taco Macho. Now, this is a bit of a drive for me, I wasn't in love with the idea of driving way out east, but if it was as good as she says, I figured it would be worth it. So, last night we went for dinner directly from work. I was significantly earlier than her so our server was incredibly friendly and kept me company. He offered me suggestions and sold me on some queso while I waited. The queso was very delicious. Their salsa is good, I tend to like more cilantro-y salsas and theirs is more chipotle-y/peppery but it was still very good. They have a whole list of other kinds of salsas to try but I didn't want to fill up on chips anyways. For entrees my friend ordered the fajitas and they looked amazing, obviously being a frequent flyer there, she knew what was up. I struggled a bit with ordering. At the old place we went to I always ordered a bean burrito and cheese enchilada combo. My favorite. There isn't really anything like that on their menus. I tried the server's recommendation the El Luchador. I would say it's okay. I want to give them a lot of credit, their ingredients seemed to be super good quality, but I just didn't like what I picked. The burrito was huge, I would say about 70% this bland rice, the other ingredients were good, it was grilled chicken, pinto beans, lettuce. Then a tiny drizzle of sauce on the top. The whole meal would have been better if that sauce was either inside the burrito or there was wayyyy more of it. I can definitely see why people love this place, the service is excellent, the quality of food was good, maybe I made a rookie mistake and didn't just drown my burrito in hot sauce! I might be willing to check it out again if someone else drives me out to east side, but I will definitely order something else. Ordered tonight for dinner on doordash since we did not want to pack up the kids to go out. This is the first time we used doordash but not the restaurant. We ordered the el macho burrito, nachos locos, homemade guacamole and the 5 salsa sampler. For being delivery everything was very flavorful and delicious as usual, the food was all fresh and even the chips that came with it were still hot. There was one small issue with are order but it was handled very very well by the manager and this is still going to be are go to restaurant for AMZAING Mexican dishes!!! read more

YELP, get responsible...this place is OPEN. Well, this is no five-star Mexican street taco spot, despite the reviews. Solid three stars, but only because it's an attempt to dress up Mexican street tacos as some fancy food for folks who don't really know what real street tacos are, and, how much they really cost. Barbacoa, Carnitas and Carne Asada tacos were just OK. Tortillas pretty weak, nothing homemade and certainly not Milagro....an easy fix. Salsas were just OK. Queso Fundido con chorizo was a solid 3.5...would have been better if they charred the poblanos to bring out more flavor. Star of the night was the Poblano tacos, but Yikes, at $16 (well, yes, you got rice and beans) those are awfully pricey taco's. You only get two...LOL. $8 each. Overall, I found the portions fairly small, especially at their high prices. And they do silly things here like charging for salsa, and ruining a margarita with sweet and sour mix, and/or coconut. If you want a coconut margarita, well, I think this is the spot for you. And El Taco Macho is really for gringos. I didn't see a Latin-looking face, except among the help. I don't plan on going back, mostly because there are some solid Mexican taquerias right in Painesville nearby, and they stand above and apart from Taco Macho with better flavored meats, fresher tortillas, better salsas and prices that are much more fair, basically about 50% less than Taco Macho. Try the real hole in the wall in the back of La Mexicana, a nearby grocery store. It's the best I've found in the area. read more

We have our favorite Mexican place, but this came highly recommended. I am not a very big burrito fan, but after tasting my husbands - we went back the next day (yes it's that good!) to try one. Cheese dip great, service great and food is very fresh. Cute bar in the back. This place is a keeper if word gets out. Too bad they aren't in the Concord area - would be a big seller. My only negative is the seating. The few main booths in the front might be the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat in. Sooo good. My husband and I came here and were so pleased with how delicious everything was. We love going out at Mexican restaurants, and we found a lot of special dishes on this menu that surpass the typical Mexican restaurant in Ohio. Our only initial disappointment was that we mistakenly thought there was no bar in the restaurant, until we found an introvert's dream bar back behind the bathroom hallway. Intimate and lovely.
