That must be some breakfast. When we arrived shortly after 1 PM on a Sunday, they were breaking down what was left of the buffet. We definitely missed out. As for lunch, they would only serve us apps until 1:30. Main dishes were available to order after that. We tried for the empanadas, but they were out so we instead got the garlic shrimp and mushrooms and the Oaxacan cheese quesadillas. The boys were happy with the latter (I didn't try). The shrimp were finger-licking good and the rice was cooked to perfection. For a main, I went with the duck enchiladas in red mole. They were absolutely delicious. Way too much mole, as is often the case with most authentic Mexican mole dishes. And the shredded lettuce wasn't necessary, but the enchiladas had great flavor. The service was excellent and the views are incredible. This is a great place to have a relaxing meal, enjoy the sights and a quiet break from the craziness on the main street and take lots of pictures.

I feel it has the best view of the city below while right across from the Teleférico. However, getting up to the hotel is no easy feat. It's a strenuous uphill climb for cars and the roads are cobblestone with just enough room for 2 small cars. Once up at the hotel, walk through the lobby and down to the pool to get a view of the City Taxco. The city is built similar to that of Cusco, Peru. Houses and buildings are built into the mountainside and all the roads are cobblestone. The hotel has two pools; one for adults with the depth of 6-7 ft and kiddos about 2 feet deep. It was windy day so the pool had some debris, but there was a pool person cleaning. Another cool thing about the was the glass elevator tp get a view of the city as well. Hotel Montetaxco also has a huge restaurant, poolside bar and upstairs bar. Although we didn't have a chance to partake in the festivities ( there was live music here on a Wednesday night dinner time). I can attest the service is excellent. On Friday morning I went down to breakfast to get a slice of chocolate cake for my mother in laws birthday and they enthusiastically obliged and took the time to write "Feliz cumpleanos!". The rooms we had were average i would say. We had two beds ( full size), good water pressure and most importantly the Air conditioner worked! A sliding backdoor led into the hotel grounds which was great to hang out outside at night. Overall, I would return here. If you're in the area gotta stay here at least one night.

It was available upon the request. This is an easy to use WhatsApp system. The Kingcole Bar serves breakfast but it also is a perfect spot for a very well-made nightcap or two. While I prefer a vodka martini with a twist. We were told that each Saint Regis has their very own Bloody Mary recipe per location worldwide. These are slightly adjusted recipes to reflect the locally sourced native ingredients. There's even a beautiful book on this that one can purchase called the Saint Regis Bloody Mary book which I would love to order for my husband and our ever growing culinary library. Our room was perfection and with its steam shower and rain shower head it was an event and mental reset each day after waking up. The bedding is wonderful and the pillows perfectly blended. I also very much enjoyed the sectional sofa we had in our room and would enjoy coffee they brought from here. The St. Regis Spa is a wonderful experience.my very talented massage therapist was named Dulce-Maria and did an amazing job. I was grateful to have a 45 minute bamboo deep tissue massage. It must be noted that the use of florals here never-ending and everywhere you go as their groupings are so beautifully curated. This is the best hotel I've stayed at in CDMX on approximately 30+ trips here. This includes the W (nope), Westin (uh-uh), Sheraton (chaos, if there's a demonstration - and there usually is one ongoing), even the St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott - all too stuffy. Santiago from NJ, by way of the NYU Shanghai campus, was excellent and almost everyone here speaks English perfectly. I felt like I was in NYC, except that the service was better and the staff was much more accommodating. Breakfast was included, nothing spectacular, but everything was solid, good coffee, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, good jams and yogurt. Perfect, light start to the day. The room was not big, but well laid out with every amenity, refrigerator, beverages, Nespresso machine, bottled water and a selection of assorted snacks - all complimentary (except alcohol, unnecessary with all the good bars nearby). The gym was literally situated in a single hotel room on the lower floor. It was tiny, but fully equipped for a one-person, HIIT session. The single issue was the incessant bass drone from the bar nearby. Earplugs didn't work because it wasn't possible to mask the low Hz frequency effectively. Every major museum was about a 25 minute stroll through scenic neighborhoods to get to. Some of the best restaurants (Nobu, Sylvestre) were around the corner. All in all this is probably the best place to stay in CDMX. If not for the bass from the bar, which was totally not the hotel's fault, this was probably the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in Mexico (no children or pets, I think, but not sure). No drunk teens shouting in the hallways - idyllic. About $500-$700/night depending on date. Totally worth it.

Which takes away from the 5 star review. I came here to take a tour of La Mina. It's a silver mine that was shut down hundreds of years ago, and only rediscovered 4 years ago--locates underneath the hotel! The tour is only about $150 pesos, and includes a drink afterwards--I'll get to that. The tour guide was so patient and informative. Most people here only speak Spanish, but he would translate into English for me the best he could. I was able to ask some questions in Spanish so I could better understand. The mine is VERY cool. I learned a lot! Afterwards, you can see a mural by Juan O'Gorman & Diego Rivera, constructed in the 1950's. Your drink token can be used at their poolside bar with breathtaking views of Taxco. I ended up staying for dinner on the balcony, and was the only person in the whole place! It was perfect, and the food was incredible. I would come back to tour the mine again, but per my fellow Yelper, would be wary to stay overnight.

After several attempts, I could not do anything to resolve this. When we entered our room the doors were completely locked and our bags were seemingly untouched until we looked deeper. It was clearly an inside job and two MacBook computers were stolen along with some valuable clothing items. It was such an awful experience to feel helpless. I randomly decided to see if this place had any reviews and found that there was a 5-star review. I wanted to make sure and share my experience so no one else was misled. IF you still decide to stay here please be very very aware of and safe with your things. Do not leave your blinds at all open. I believe that is how the wait staff was able to see that our bags had valuable items stored in them. Please be careful.
