    Chicken Enchiladas with red sauce
    Natalie C.

So I had mixed feelings writing this review. On one hand - the poor waitress just didn't listen to a darn thing we ordered (salsa and chips became guacamole and chips. Chicken enchiladas with green sauce came with red sauce. Split the check down the middle, only one card was charged). On the other hand - EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. As someone who grew up with authentic Mexican food and has been on the search for great Mexican food in the Philadelphia area (it's limited), this was such a welcome treat! The enchiladas were full of meet and delicious. The tostadas fantastically crunchy. Great authentic Mexican food, so I will be back!

    Quesabirria

The best birria in the suburbs that we've tried so far! Nice portions of flavorful meat with the signature melty cheese and the rich consommé for dipping...the quesabirria has to be our favorite dish here! The regular tacos are also good. The fish tacos have a nice kick to them with the sauce. The waitress was nice and the ambiance feels like a normal Mexican restaurant. We return here again and again just for the quesabirria!

It was nice evening so we sat outside on their front porch. There are two tables of 4. I ordered the wet burrito with shrimp and green sauce. Because of COVID-19 the food came out in Styrofoam containers and with plastic ware. The sodas are bottled soda. The menu is small but large enough for everyone to find good to eat. They have appetizers and desserts. They have plenty of parking in the front and the back of the building. Try it.

We stumbled on this restaurant after deciding not to wait for a nearby one and we're not disappointed. I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants across the US and this was one of the best in both taste and value. I got the Chicken Fajitas which were well seasoned beyond the norm I've experienced elsewhere. My wife got the steak tacos and liked them as well, although she felt the steak was slightly spicy for her liking. We finished with the churros which were also very good. Highly recommended if you're looking for a great meal at an affordable price!

Mixed Fajitas (put together at home)

We love getting takeout from El Tio. Ordering and paying over the phone is easy and the curbside pick up is perfect for the current circumstances. We really enjoy the mixed fajitas and you get a nice large portion of chicken, beef, shrimp, onions, and peppers. The quantity of fixings isn't nearly enough for the filling, but the meat and veggies are tasty on their own anyway. The pork al pastor is also yummy and we like their quesadillas too! I'm a self proclaimed guac snob and it is so delicious! We always order a large side of guac and put it on everything.

Wet Burrito with Molé as served

Top notch execution on the molé and crema. Burrito was too rice & bean forward with inadequate flavor emphasis on it's protein. I ordered the Al Pastor Burrito, wet with Molé. The Molé was incredible. So delightfully fluffy and smooth on the palate with a delicate balance of sweet and earthy. I'm no Molé connoisseur, but this version was excellent. Unfortunately the Al Pastor was completely lost in this dish. The burrito was dominated by beans and rice. I pork I could barely notice was veiled in the strength of the other ingredients. I did notice a savory and fresh cheese with a pleasant structure just below the chewy burrito tortilla.

Visited for Dinner …read more... I sat at the bar and the place was a bit loud with World Cup Soccer on. The place is a bit worn And could probably use a face lift. The service was great and everything came out hot. I had the El Mocajete. The dish was loaded with meat and shrimp. It had a very good tasting sauce. I passed on rice and beans. I requested a side of veggies and they said yes. They tasted very good also. I would definitely recommend this place and plan to visit again soon

Cold, rainy, and we were already in King of Prussia .... twist my arm for a margarita! (I'm always…read moreup for a good margarita.) 3:30 Saturday, and the place was packed. Plaza Azteca is reliably good, and late lunch/early-geriatric-dinner made sense. Margaritas, yum. I've learned to stick to frozen strawberry, not overly sweet but fruity. A neighboring table ordered what looked like a milkshake. Nope, pina colada, which I note here as a reminder to try next time. Calories be damned! We started with guacamole made tableside. This was almost twice the size (plus better and cheaper) than what we recently had in Manhattan. My husband's main was what they call a "loaded" chili relleno with chicken. The doughy coating overpowered the chili. I thought it mediocre. I went with chori pollo: grilled chicken, topped with chorizo. I enjoyed it -- plenty to take home -- but the chorizo was milder than what I've had here before. Needed more zing. As said, we like this restaurant. While not five stars, four is nothing to sneeze at!
