I had high hopes for this place. We were craving Mexican on our way home and spotted this gem. The service was very kind throughout the entire experience. It was the food that let me down. The guac was sooo good. I could eat that all day. On one plate we said no cheese and the beans had cheese sprinkled so we scooped that off. For some reason I just expected more flavor, even in the salad. It was basic and that does not sound like Mexican food and flavors. The shrimp were covered in something that I thought would be the thing that have the salad a kick but it was not. I also did not like that they used the tiny shrimp and still didn't devein them. It wasn't the greatest food experience. This place wins points for service and guacamole.

Very good food with super friendly service. For starters, we shared the tortilla soup which was so flavorful and on the mild side, which we like. The broth was fantastic! For the mains, we had the chicken fajitas and an order of veggie tacos. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. He ambiance was was simple with multiple booths for seating. I'd happily return!

hey y'all .. bueno dias... right here's the deal on this place.. 1st i grew up in this area.. only good restaurants survive and this place is kicking it i ordered the "fast tacos".. the only issue is they don't allow mixing of the taco shells.. that doesn't make any sense at all the beef filling was generous.. the soft shells fresh.. the sauce mild green and red hot was house made and very delicious the taco salad bowl was filling and very good too I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

I come from West coast and was looking for Mexican food and found this place. Food was delicious and staff was very friendly. Highly recommended.

I've been daydreaming of this food ever since I went. It's been on my list forever but while the decor is fun it always seems so quiet and I opt for a place a bit more lively. I finally decided to go for it and was so glad I did. My husband and I picked up a bottle of tequila nearby and ordered a pitcher of their margarita mix - not the best but I really didn't have any expectations there. We ordered chips and salsa to start and wow was that good! The salsa is chunky but saucey at the same time. It set the right tone for the meal because if a Mexican place has bad chips and salsa they are an automatic no thanks in my book! We then split the chicken mole enchiladas and the tortilla soup. The soup totally stole the show! I haven't had tortilla soup quite like it before - it had an amazing broth, chunks of fresh avocado, and the flavor was just the best. The enchiladas were really good - even the side of rice and beans hit the spot. This is a MUST go for anyone who loves Mexican food. They are hard to come by. They seem to do a lot of to go orders too - I will be trying that soon.

New prices in effect without any notice!

New prices in effect without notice! This one posted online totally wrong. Was charged 12.95 for salad and 3.50 for chicken. Realize inflation has hit us all- but 17.44 for one taco salad is ridiculous! It's been a decent place- nothing amazing... now I'll be checking out other establishments in the area.

Fire burrito bowls. Fast service. Lunch comes out to all in $12. Top 5 lunch spots in Wayne.

As a Texan visiting the area I can vouch that the food here at Buena Vista is legit. Seriously, the best veggie quesadilla ever anywhere. And, one if the top chili relleno's ever. We also ordered chicken fajitas, chicken enchiladas, and a beef taco. Everything was fresh and everyone enjoyed their meal! Thanks!

Excellent Mexican food Thats freshly made. Standard combo platters along with chef specials. Must have is their crab soup-yes crab soup. Been there twice. First was relleno and chicken enchilada combo, second was Barbacoa fajitas. Others ordered fish tacos, flautas, enchiladas with mole sauce. All were tasty. BYO and if you bring tequila, you can spike their free Margarita mix. Will be back for round three

Buena Vista was a bit smaller than I expected, and not as fancy as I thought it would being in the heart of Wayne, but places like that are really more my cup of tea, so it suited me just fine. My carnitas and chorizo tacos were perfect, as were the rice and refried beans. The chips and salsa were good too, though I felt the salsa could use more flavor. The girl at the counter and the guy that brought our food out to us (takeout) were both nice. Definitely plan on going again sometime!

Yummy! I am so happy there is a decent Mexican restaurant walking distance from my house. It was definitely lacking in this neighborhood for some fine burritos and enchiladas, and this place luckily delivers the goods. Chips and salsa are a la carte and the chips are extra thick and crispy. I have had both the vegetable enchiladas and the shrimp tacos. I recommend either of these options. But the only choice for sauce in my book is the mole. They do have other choices but why not get the mole?! That's my favorite part of the whole dish! As you can see in the Q&A section of the yelp page they do offer a free margarita with a purchase of a meal. Not the best margarita I have ever had, but it's free and I'm walking home so I'll take it. Prices are reasonable and the ambiance is amazing with color!

We were very happy with our order. I had the chimichanga which was enormous! I got it with the barbacoa beef. It was tender and delicious. My wife had the carnitas tacos. This were very good as well. The food was reasonably priced and it was ready to go quickly. If we get that way again we will definitely stop in.

Ask the Community - Buena Vista Mexican Restaurant

We received an ad that says "Dine in and enjoy free margaritas with your meal." Do they serve you one per meal or are they endless? Are these with alcohol or do we bring our own tequila? Same question about the pitcher, I assume it's byo tequilla?

Hey there! Thanks for inquiring about our restaurant! We offer 1 complimentary Margarita to go with your Entree (Please remember to ask your server for one!) We are also BYOB and have Margarita Mix- regular. Thank you and hope to see you soon!

The shredded beef was beyond bountiful; so savory and perfectly balanced with the fresh onion and melty cheese. The consume was rich with perfect notes of acidity and spice I double dipping into the hot sauce which made for a perfect bite. The green onions were killer not everyone does that super good. We ordered the shrimp tacos, the veggie tacos, and a large side of guacamole. The shrimp tacos were the worst I've tried. Three tacos each with approximately one underseasoned shrimp cut into tiny pieces, topped with chopped tomato, jalapeño, onion, and a tiny bit of cilantro, drizzled with chipotle mayonnaise. The shrimp was tasteless and the portion was tiny. The pico de gallo was as average as it gets. Not to mention the tacos at El Limon come with beans and rice for the same price, these did not. I got takeout and had homemade corn salsa, pickled jalapeños, and hot sauce in my refrigerator, thank god, because these tacos needed some flavor. My boyfriend ordered the veggie tacos and didn't say much other than he disliked them and proclaimed Lili's a "one and done."

Our server, Lilly, was very pleasant and added to the warm, welcoming feel of the place. The food was exceptional across the board, and the value was very reasonable even though everything we ordered was delicious. Standouts I highly recommend: * Duck buria * Pork belly tacos * Crunchy shrimp tacos * Baja fish tacos * Half chicken, fresh out of the oven (truly amazing) You really can't go wrong with the other tacos either; there are simply too many good options to mention. Their handcrafted drinks had a great summer vibe and were well balanced, and both the gelato and the Tres Leches cake were delicious. Overall, the vibe, friendliness, attentiveness, and professionalism of the staff, combined with the quality of the food and the very reasonable prices, make Bar Taco a great value. It's been a while since my first visit (which I also reviewed very highly), and I was impressed that everything was consistently perfect when we returned. We actually went again the following night, and in my opinion, it has only gotten better, earning another glowing review from me. On a value and price scale, I give Bar Taco a solid 9 out of 10. A neighboring table ordered what looked like a milkshake. Nope, pina colada, which I note here as a reminder to try next time. Calories be damned! We started with guacamole made tableside. This was almost twice the size (plus better and cheaper) than what we recently had in Manhattan. My husband's main was what they call a "loaded" chili relleno with chicken. The doughy coating overpowered the chili. I thought it mediocre. I went with chori pollo: grilled chicken, topped with chorizo. I enjoyed it -- plenty to take home -- but the chorizo was milder than what I've had here before. Needed more zing. As said, we like this restaurant.
