We had a reunion at El Western . It was awesome . The staff were wonderful and very helpful. We used the conference center . They called a couple of days before and set it up for us the way we wanted . The rooms were great - very clean and cute rustic log cabins and well appointed kitchen .The office staff were so helpful and friendly. Everything was very clean , beautiful grounds . We loved the creek . The Kids can fish there without buying a license . The water wheel was so pretty and the sound of it so nice. There is a little island accessible by a bridge.-So pretty. Many of our family said they would come back to El western in the future. I certainly recommend it. The Madison River is nearby for fishing. This charming vintage motel is really special. Our cabin was a tidy preserved 1950's style lodge, with spotless shiny woodwork from ceiling to floor. It's like staying in a fine wooden yacht, but with a vintage western interior. Step back in time, in these beautifully preserved western rooms , decorated in original western Americana furniture and fixtures. It is a beautiful setting with nice, friendly people! Our grandkids loved the cabins! The cabins were EXTREMELY CLEAN, we were impressed!

Quaint, clean, convenient location with nostalgic charm! We enjoyed our stay here over the Labor Day weekend. The bed was comfy and we were glad to have the kitchenette for cooking. They were kind enough to loan us a charcoal grill. Just around the corner to town where we enjoyed the Fly Fishermen's Festival, did a little shopping, and chatted with the locals. Also close to two different fishing access areas. We would definitely stay here again! read more

We first ran across El Western a few years ago by accident and so this time for our family road trip we made it a point to stay here again. This time we booked the Moose Lodge and stayed for 3 days and absolutely loved our time there. The cabin was very clean and the grounds are beautifully kept. Their attention to detail is excellent and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The only thing that I wish I had brought was a 3-prong to 2-prong electric converter as I could only plug in my laptop in the kitchen. However, this really isn't the place where you want to be glued to a computer screen anyway. :-) Quality family time is found here! read more

We had a fantastic stay at the El Western. The Mountainside/2br cabin was spacious and perfect to relax in and spend time together with family. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cleaning supplies, a front door leading to a porch with chairs to enjoy the yard (usually at least one bunny to watch hop around!), and a back porch that made loading and unloading cars much easier. The friendly horses in the field only steps away from our door kept my nieces entertained. Lots of windows to let the breeze in, also well made enough to keep bugs out. Two fans were provided which seems like a minor detail but is always nice to have for sleeping or cooking! Location was excellent as well, we were able to access Cliff & Wade Lakes, Ennis Lake and the Madison River. Can't wait to come back! read more

Great place to stay. We had a Superior creekside cabin which was spacious, very clean and with a well equipped kitchen. Nice owners, beautiful property. They delivered a charcoal BBQ to our cabin for us to use one evening, a very appreciated option. Having another picnic table or two closer to the cabin front patios could be helpful, but this was not a problem as we travel with a folding table, just a note for consideration. We stayed at the El Western as a group of ten for a fly fishing trip. Everything was great right from the start. The gal at the front desk was happy to have us and wanted to make sure we were happy and comfortable. The rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. We had plenty of space to relax, cook dinner ( we even brought in a private chef to cook us dinner and we had plenty of space) The lodge is in perfect location for fishing trips as most of the guides will come and pick you up and take you right to the river. We ended up floating the Madison for 2 days. The lodge is about a 4-5 min drive from town where you will find a few local bars, a distillery as well as a grocery/gas station. Overall we were extremely pleased with El Western and will definitely be coming back! read more

Awesome cabins! They were very comfortable and had everything we needed for cooking. We had a huge family event there and they were incredibly accommodating. The owner is a great guy and very gracious. Though they have WiFi, it was a fun place to "unplug" for a few days and take in the scenery. Highly recommended!!! read more

Cabins are clean and functional but small. No TV in bedroom, only a very small TV in living room. Biggest downside is no air conditioning. On those 84 degree days it takes until about 1:00 AM to cool down enough to sleep. Friendly staff. read more

I booked a room and my wife and I drove 75 miles out of our way to get to find out they cancelled my reservation. They said it was cancelled the day after it was made and I DIDNT cancel it. They left us out of a room and we had to drive another hour to find a room. Don't trust them...they made a mistake or did it intentionally..either way they screwed us. read more

Friendly and family owned, these perfectly kept rustic log cabins are a sight for weary traveler's eyes. The lush grounds invite you to literally frolic and play, as bunnies hop between the cabins, and fish jump out of the stream to eat bugs on the water. The perfect spot for the fisherman and his/her family to spend a week. The owners John and Kris have a lovely story of taking over the grounds from her parents. We stayed in the El Western Cabins in July of 2020 for a total of 9 nights. The cabins are immaculate, spacious and clean. It is very clear to see the pride owners, John and Chris have in their location. The grass is green, the cabins are well kept, the property grounds are in perfect shape. Not only do the owners do a fine job with the grounds, they are very personable as well. I would start each morning with a cup of coffee in the office (complimentary) and a talk with owner, Chris about plans for the day and suggestions. She is a very nice person to speak with and knows the area well for day trips in and out of West Yellowstone. The place has its own kitchen, we never ate out to save money, a king size bed which is so comfortable and a pull out bed which was comfy as well. Relaxing in the evening, listening the back stream was a perfect way to unwind after a day in town or at yellowstone. The place is always quiet and people are very respectful, they have quiet hours from 10pm-8am which is nice. The Big Sky of Montana is present from each angle you see at this location and every place you are at in Montana. It is truly breathtaking. If you are a fly fisherman, this is your heaven off the Madison River or just a person ready to unwind, relax or take trips in and out of Yellowstone about an hour away. The back road to Yellowstone (highway 287) is about the best drive you will ever take. I cant say enough about the hospitality of this place and the grounds and cabins. We will be back for sure! Had an incredible experience in MT. Beautiful property. Moose/owls/deer were literally in our front yard. We came here to checkout Yellowstone national park (40min-1 hour) and big sky country. This place did not disappoint. Clean rooms, scenic surroundings and a homey cabin feel. The owners were really good people. We loved this place! We stayed here at the end of April, shortly before their official opening. The grounds are nice. There is a nice meadow behind the property to relax by the river and watch bunnies. Many bunnies. And sometimes deer and moose. The cabins are log construction and very nice and comfortable. The bathrooms have a separate sauna-style heater which is really nice when it is cool out - which it was during our visit. Friendly staff. Part of a very nice experience in Ennis. read more

Our second stay here. Very well maintained. Historic room footprint dictates small rooms by today's standards. But better care and design could reduce all the sharp corners and protuberances--I kept bumping into bed frames, etc. Coffee in the office was good when available. Ennis is currently a little short on good dining. Beautiful part of the country. Price is ok for what you get. read more

Gosh this place. We were so happy we found them. We were in a long haul with many miles behind us and so tired. We had a puppy with us. First of all, it is Montana service all the way, with excellence. They just do everything well here. Checkin was flawless, price was good, service was more than accommodating. You feel like immoderate family. They know all The local accommodations for food. Just so helpful but in a really authentic, generous manner. They represent Montana really well. Dogs are fully welcomed. There was even enough space to let our bulldog walk around and stretch her legs, get some energy out. Everyone said hi to our dog, another retriever calls this place home and she was such a sweet heart. Good coffee in the mornings. Close enough to just run into town. Nice updated rooms. It's got a great nostalgic cabin feeling. We slept like a log. Super comfy beds. Just LOVED it. Will return. We were so happy we gave the ladies some Wine on our way out. Really disappointed with El Western.... our cabin was not a described on the website or over the phone. "Creek view" was a hardly accurate description. "Laundry view" would have been far more accurate. Room was okay, but far overpriced for the value. read more
