Efficient food service. The food was typical Mexican Fair nothing really stood out except the watermelon lemonade.

My wife and I went there tonight for our 3 year anniversary...my wife ordered the sizzling fajitas...I ordered three soft shell tacos with chicken...the chicken was not cooked fresh as an ex cook I know the difference ,this piece of chicken had been laying around for awhile and was overcooked from the beginning.. And here's the worst most shameful,and unforgivable part...the only business they had was our table and another 2 top... The last time we went here the Sizzling fajitas,my wife ordered sat around for about 5 minutes utes and there was no dramatic sizzle effect when he brought it to our table.. This was a very interesting dining experience to say the least. My wife and I ate here on a Saturday evening and both enjoyed our food although I don't really remember what all we ate. I just remember everything tasted good. I remember getting watermelon tea to drink and it was so good I wished I had gotten more refills than I did. I lived quite a bit of my life in the border states of the southwest with approximately ten years in Texas, four years in Arizona, and four months in California. This place could easily hold its own in any of those states and I told them so. In fact, I told them of a bit of a "missed opportunity" that could have made them even better and more authentic. The Sonoran-style Mexican restaurants of southern Arizona (and the two I ate at in Nogales, Mexico) actually used queso mennonita--Mennonite cheese--in their recipes and so it seemed very fitting that this restaurant in Shipshewanna with so many Amish and Mennonite employees and customers should also use queso mennonita in their recipes, but alas they'd never thought of it. The only negative experience we had was having to stand in line for a long time with some very obnoxious customers who were also waiting to be seated. Since the restaurant doesn't serve alcohol they were all acting like they'd already gotten half drunk before they got there. Their language was inappropriate for public behavior in a family restaurant setting and they were rude and insulting to my wife and me when all we were doing was trying to ignore them. read more

We stopped in here on the Saturday before Valentine's Day so we were concerned we might have to wait, but we got there early and we're seated promptly. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Despite being extremely busy, our server stayed on top of things and our food came out in a timely manner. This is definitely a spot that the locals frequent. The food was delicious! I had vegetarian fajitas which were excellent. My husband had a quesadilla that he enjoyed. The restaurant was pretty much empty except for 2 groups who already had their food served. Sat there for 20 minutes before the server came back and told us " Sorry for the wait but we had a lot of to go orders to fill your order is being plated" 10 more minutes still no food. Got into town late after driving all day looked at what my options were for dinner and walked three-quarter miles down to where the restaurant was. Nice little atmosphere inside not really like a Mexican restaurant that you're used to but it was OK. I ordered the Kearny Asada and for something that was a quarter of an inch thick it was the toughest piece of meat I've ever seen and the steak knife could've been sharp it might've been better. I spent 2 days in Shipshewana Indiana. I stopped here (EL Zorrito 2) for a late lunch. The restaurant and bathroom were clean. Service was wonderful. My server was Carmelo. I ordered the Shrimp Quesadilla. It was huge. The shrimps were large. I wanted only grilled onions and melted cheese. It was served with a salad . I apologize for having nothing good to say about our experience. Chips and salsa brought to table without asking, not being told they were not complimentary. Young waiter, without a clue, what he was doing. 3 out of 5 got wrong food, no apologies for having to wait to get correct order. Waiter only returned to point and say pay there when you go. Received no bill. When paying, got quite the surprise. When questioning bill as told "I don't know, I wasn't your server" however she could tell us what we ate, and that chips and salsa are extra, $4.50 for soda.Was not told tip was included. So inadequate server was double tipped. 1 steak fajita 16.99, 1 soda 4.50, came out to over $36, not including double tip server got. 1 nacho Mexicana Mexican pizza, I believe was and one water, one soda (once again not taking into account double tipping) was just under $40. Food had no taste, restaurant no atmosphere and could be cleaned, service was horrible. Not told tip was already added, not told when had not asked for that chips and salsa was extra. Today was Wednesday flea market day and we were able to get in and out of our favorite place quickly. Staff here is always smiling and since we are regulars a big hello from everyone. Today's specials were great and filling. One of the waitresses who was gone for the summer has returned and I am happy to see her friendly face again. I wasn't impressed. We went at lunch. It was very slow. The place is clean and nice atmosphere. The salsa was delicious but very, very cold. Good warm chips. No one in our group "loved" their food. The rice was delicious not so much for the beans. The chimichanga I ordered was beautifully fried golden brown, but the chicken inside it lacked flavor and salt. I expect a little heat or spice in my Mexican food and it just wasn't there. Beware-some of the items listed on the lunch menu are priced higher than the same item on the dinner menu. Overall, I don't think we will come back. There are much better choices for Mexican food in Sturgis, and Angola. read more

First let's say we were raised on Mexican food. There are many varieties of Mexican food. In texas and New Mexico, we are used different kinds of enchiladas with a great variety of sauces. MOLE MEANS SAUCE. IN GENERAL, when you see mole know that is a dark sauce with chocolate and cinnamon. Not my favorite. This restaurant uses mole as its sauce for enchiladas. Pass A stand by for new restaurant is fajitas. Usually the easiest to make. This fajitas had poor quality of meat So Tough it was impossible to chew. Very little meat but lots vegetables. We love Mexican. This place does it right . We get the Arroz. Con Pollo, and its fab. Chip are warm salsa is just right. Service is great. They are very nice, friendly. We had this server and she was very nice to our kids. She took very good care of our large party. This place is hoping on the weekends full of ppl and good music. This place is awesome!! We came here for dinner after spending the day exploring the local towns. I had looked on Yelp and El Zorrito 2's Facebook, and decided to give it a try. Boy did we make the right decision! My husband and I shared the Amish Fajita Platter for 2. This meal is huge! We both received our own plates of rice, beans, sour cream, and guac salad and 3 flour tortillas. Then this huge sizzling skillet came out. On the bottom was a layer of grilled tomatoes, green peppers, and onions. On top of this bed of veggies is two pork chops, beef strips, chicken strips, and shrimp too! Everything was cooked perfect and very flavorful. The server was very polite and attentive. Very happy. We will definitely be back. read more
