I stopped in on December 5 for the all you can eat fish. I was promptly greeted by my waitress, Carrie, who was attentive and extremely polite and friendly. After a short while my food arrived and it was amazing to say the least. This is my new favorite place.

Prairie Lake's Truffle Fries come in a generous serving that offers such savory umami flavors that it's hard to stop eating them.

Had the most "Palate Pleasing" experience at Prairie Lake Tavern in Sturgis, MI. with friends. The service was excellent, and the food was elevated to levels I have never experienced while dining in a SW Michigan "tavern." Splendid to say the least, and we especially loved the creativity that flows from its kitchen. Out table started off our feast by enjoying a gigantic bowl of Truffle fries that had so much savory umami to them that I had to make myself stop eating them so there would be room for a few bites of my entree. We appreciated that the atmosphere is clean, not too over-crowded with table spacing, and that casual attire is the norm for food that is anything but. Chef Allen Heap is doing an amazing job at keeping his menu fresh, in season, and oh-so flavorful, which makes it a great place for special gatherings or even just grabbing a quick bite of lunch. I know that I will definitely be plan a return trip to Prairie Lake the next time an opportunity pops up!

My chicken tenders were raw all the way through, another one of our orders was cold, and it was over all gross.

Mannnnn.... I remember eating here as a kid, some 30 years ago…read more I can't believe they were open on the 4th of July! SCORE! This is the last Hot n Now left in existence, BUT I've heard thru the grapevine that they're actually making a comeback and opening more locations! My mom lives here back in Sturgis again... When we would come visit my aunts and uncles, we would stop here, some 30+ years ago, and it's just as I remember it. Being from Reno Nevada, when I come visit my mom, I try NOT to eat here, because I try to stay away from carbs, but I had to give in after an internal 3 day battle. I always forget what I ordered from the last visit, because it's usually years apart. This time (and probably last) I ordered the "Big Hot" with fries. It was perfect and sloppy, just how I like it. The fries were good, and I ordered fried pickles. They were a little greasy but super good. The menu is also very fairly priced. For the trash I would get at 5 guys for just me, I was able to buy 2 combo meals The lady who took my order and money was super sweet. I don't remember what iit looks like inside, and come to think of it, I don't know if I've ever even been! I hope they DO open more! Ill see y'all next time! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. My friend ordered an olive burger and she didn't know it came with cheese but evidently there's does. We go back thru the drive thru and they wanted her to just take the cheese off. They actually made her another one but said they won't remake the mushroom Swiss cause there wasn't anything wrong with it. Yeah there was IT WASNT HOT! The cheese was not even slightly melted like it would have been if the burger was hot. They surely don't live up to there name it should be Cold and Disgusting not Hot n Now! If you want something hot order the fries or cheese curds since they have to deep fry them.

If you're a normal white person/people, ie. not woke (homo, BLM, purple haired with a septum ring, transfacist, or other advocate of unhinged society, and don't carry the preferred 'shade' of abnormal society nowadays) this place isn't for you. Yep, they do it all the time, now it's our turn. Kind of over the people and their "white shame" adding to all the wokeness. Me and mom, met my cousin here for supper, per his request. Walked in, the kid up front was really nice and showed us to our table, then we had one of the most driest, lackluster servers I've encountered in a good while. I mean, yeah, we're (I'm) mildly demanding, but professional and polite in the process. Anywho, outside of her bringing our food and constantly forgetting to bring stuff we asked for, and COMPLETELY disappearing our last 45 minutes of our visit, not even gracious enough to ask us if we would need a box, or perhaps another cocktail, just straight ghosted. It's fine though, I don't need to learn Spanish to be able to eat in a restaurant in america, especially in a grassroots town. I ordered fried pickles with Southwest sauce. I drive all over the country for work, been to every state probably more than you've been to the bathroom. This southwest sauce had horseradish in it. Never had a sauce so unpalatable, and I'm not too sure who made the recipe for this sauce, but it's definitely not Southwest. I ordered 15 wings with 2 different sauces. One dry rub. The dry rub was supposed to be mojito lime. Tasted like fried chicken. Second sauce, Nashville hot. The sauce was good, but they probably should have tried to put it on the wings. Third sauce was the mango habanero or something of the sort, but again, have you guys ever heard of sauce? If you're going to skimp on ingredients, do it with the actual food, not with the components that cost you next to nothing. While I'm on that, I asked the bartender if I could get a vodka soda with extra lime. I asked her if they were wedges or wheels. She told me wedges. As you can see from my first cocktail, it's a half a wheel, so now we have an inept bartender throwing away owner profits because she can't differentiate between a garnish that is meant for aesthetics, or for consumption. But I will give kudos to my server for actually going to the back and cutting wedges for me. For that split second, I felt like a customer experiencing "equality". I ordered a couple more cocktails, and the bartender, knowing that I wanted actual wedges just kept showing out those half wheels. We were sitting there and people were playing music on the jukebox. Somebody played chingy, and some other rap songs that were pretty audible. No complaints on the music, I listen to that too, but the second I put on Jason aldean, some Hank, and other various country artists, the jukebox immediately gets turned down to barely audible. I even walked up to underneath one of the speakers trying to hear if the music was still playing. Needless to say, if you read this far, you know that I'll never be back here. I'd rather just stay down in our area with the Amish people. If I want hot wings, I'll just go to BDubs. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149.
