I chose the Hozor Ki Pasandwalla Murghi because I wanted to try to pronounce it, and it's one of Oli's favorites. It's thinner sauce with nice heat and a good amount of peppers, onions, and tomatoes. He chose the Chicken Laknavi, and Jane chose the Chicken Pasanda. Everything was nicely spiced - heat but still flavor. Portions were generous - we probably only needed half as much, but we couldn't resist all the flavors. We were treated to a drink afterwards with our bill, and Bailey's was a perfect digestif with the chocolate. On our way out, we were given a 2019 calendar as a holiday present. Also, different chairs face in different directions, and all but facing inwards to the back of the restaurant has a view that is just fine, and the street view is excellent. I did not have a starter so apart from a poppadom I had to wait from 8pm until gone 9.30pm to get anything of substance. It is frustrating when the waiters keep coming back to offer more drinks with no sign of the food. It seems like an obviously ploy to get you to buy lots of expensive drinks (£4.50 for a Cobra). The restaurant isn't huge and they have a lot of staff so I would hope service would be much more prompt. It is unfortunate that service is not great for large groups. Quite a mild dish with only a little spice added. To accompany that I had a keema rice and a couple of chapattis. The rice dish is enough for two to share as the curry itself is quite filling. But it was a lovely accompaniment. Not too overpowering with the spiced meat and not too overloaded with onion they got the balance just right. The rogan josh was delightful. It's the first time I've had it and I was impressed. Delicately flavoured and packed with tomato and onion. The sauce was really tasty there just wasn't enough of it to dip the bread in. The meat itself was nice a little tough for my liking but still very nice. The chapattis where beautifully cooked, fresh and hot strait out of the tandoor they where perfect. We decided not to go for dessert because we'd had such a good meal there was no more room. The service in this restaurant is very good. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. I decided on Lamb tikka masala, while Jimmy got the Chicken Korai spicy. We also got rice and naan for each of us. The food was delicious. The sauces were rich and flavorful. The meat was tender, not dry. The naan was slightly crunchy on the bottom and fluffy on top, just the way I love it. The portions were generous. We definitely could have been full from half as much food. Service was great, making sure that our water glasses were filled (perhaps they were worried about Jimmy ordering spicy food) and always checking that we had everything we needed.
