The owner really impressed me with her ability to take care of her park & adorable little store! She's a very, very nice lady & had the pleasure of getting to know her. At the time of year we were there it was just the beginning of Spring & not to many people yet but as soon as the weather begins to get warmer, her campground fills up quite quickly & especially when they have the MCC riders flow through that's the place where they come & stay & it's the beginning of the No Vacancy sign to go up. I just loved the scenery & atmosphere around the whole park. Wonderful for families as well! So as far as I'm concerned I give her ranch a 5 star rating! You'll just have to make it one of your go to places if you're traveling through the area. A great focal point is to check out Fort Rock & the surrounding areas. Beautiful!

I was really looking forward to my stay at Waterwheel RV Park and Campground. The location looked…read moreabsolutely beautiful, and I specifically chose it for its convenient proximity to Train Mountain. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be extremely disappointing before I even arrived. On the morning of my scheduled arrival on September 26th, 2026, I received a text message notifying me that a water main had broken. They mentioned the repair could take several days and instructed us to arrive with a full freshwater tank. By that point, we were already en route and on the road--there was simply no practical way for us to fill our tanks along the way. Since I had booked a two-night stay, staying at an RV park without running water was not a viable option, so I had no choice but to cancel my reservation. Given that the cancellation was entirely due to a major utility failure at the park--a circumstance completely beyond my control--I requested a full refund. To my surprise, management refused, stating that their strict cancellation policy applied regardless of the situation. While the park itself may be in a scenic area, their lack of flexibility and customer care during a utility emergency is unacceptable. Refusing to refund a guest when the park cannot provide basic amenities like running water shows poor business ethics, and I cannot recommend staying here.

August 26-29, 2025 - La Pine, OR…read more We've stayed at La Pine Campground a few times over the years, and each visit reminds us why we keep coming back. The campground is divided into three loops, each with its own character. The North Loop offers water and electric hookups, with sites that are more widely spaced than the others--something I really appreciate. That extra room makes it feel quieter and more private, and it's probably where we'll book our next stay. The Middle Loop has full hookups, while the South Loop is the busiest, featuring full hookups as well as some cabins. . There are many hiking/cycling trails (dog-friendly), and the Deschutes River runs through the campground. There is a short hike to a waterfall, and a large dog park. Unfortunately, we were a bit restricted in our outdoor activities because of the smoke from the two fires in the area. There was actually ash falling on one of the days. Also, there had been several sightings of a mountain lion in the area, so that added a bit of caution to our activities. Nevertheless, we will definitely come back.

Some sites are fairly tight, while others had some nice room. The trails here were very enjoyable. Serene surroundings around the river and through the trees. We saw lots of deer, birds, and other critters scrambling about. I'm sure it would've had a slightly different feel during peak season, but we very much enjoyed our night and day of off season.
