This place was a diamond in the rough. It's rustic but cute, organized and friendly. Also you can't beat the natural beauty by the Williamson River.The staff is friendly and helpful. And the location is perfect if you're visiting Crater Lake. WiFi is not the strongest but it's useable enough. We would recommend it and probably return if we were in the area. read more

Nestled between Crater Lake and Klamath Falls this little gem, located on the banks of the Williamson River, is a terrific place to park your RV. There is a patch of grass at each spot, laundry facilities and a playground for the kids. It's right off Hwy 97 and there are train tracks nearby but surprisingly neither were bothersome from inside our RV, while we slept. This is our second time staying here and I'm sure we'll be back again in the future! read more

Waterwheel RV Park We stayed 3 nights at the Waterwheel RV Park in September 2022. Site 20. Our site was a pull through with full hookups, it's slightly shorter than most of the other sites. We had to park our tow vehicle in the overflow parking which was close by so not a problem. This is a very nice clean park with laundry and shower facilities. Right on the Williamson River and the staff was very friendly. From here we drove into Crater Lake National Park to Klamath Falls and a hidden gem, the Train Mountain Railroad Museum which is REALLY cool don't miss it. read more

We booked this place super last minute, like a day before we arrived, and we still got an epic site. Check out the photos I posted. We arrived after hours, but the late check in process was super easy. This is not a large RV park so it is easy to find your spot. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and seem remodeled within the last few years. The "playground" is probably 30+ years old but it kept our kids attention for 26 minutes. The dock is fun and the landscaping around the campground is maintained well. All staff were very friendly. The price was awesome as well. No complaints here! read more

We stayed here in a 31 ft motor home with 3 slide outs. The day of our stay we were coming in late and they called us to make sure we had all the info to check in after hours. The campground was perfect. Great scenery, right on the river. Excellent facilities, the best I've ever seen. The bathrooms were so nice and updated. My 18 year old son liked it so much that he asked if we could stay here again on the return trip. When I told him we were taking a different route home decided to leave a review and then encouraged me to leave one as well. We would all stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much Waterwheel! I have to agree with every other 5 star rating. We were on our way south and knew we'd be driving by and maybe it would be the right time. We didn't have reservations and almost missed the turn-off. It didn't look the same as on the website. That's because the website was of the park so don't miss it! It's a fantastic RV park and would be a top choice if we through again. All sites are pull throughs and give a great river view. Evidently it's one of the top trout rivers anywhere. My first impression driving in was the office. That's a pretty sharp looking campground office. Next, I got to meet "Mom" and throughly enjoyed listening to the store of the place. What a nice lady. The park is clean and kept manicured. The bathrooms and laundry are sparkling clean and new! It really is a top notch park. It definitely is a nice place and well worth the five stars. read more

We called while we were traveling upstate. We pulled into a beautiful river front site. It was quiet and relaxing. The bathrooms were clean and the site was great. I don't like over crowded RV places and found this one more my speed. If you are looking for a nice relaxing place, where you can enjoy the river, this is the place. read more

My Husband and I enjoyed the campground, it is a beautiful location. We had a great time until it was time to leave. We decided to walk along the river before leaving. When my Husband subsequently used the restroom, the Woman cleaning it became very annoyed and accused him of tracking mud into the bathroom (which he did not). She approached me in the rudest way, saying I just yelled at your "Boyfriend" for tracking mud in the bathroom. I began to walk away but I wanted her to know I felt disrespected and discrimination, that I did not appreciate the manner she was speaking to me. I am a Black woman over 50, married for 30 years. I politely explained to her, you have treated us unprofessional and inappropriate. I explained to her I felt discriminated against and I don't believe you wouldn't treat a older white couple in this manner. It was at that point she became belligerent, in my opinion. We were told we were supposed to to leave by Noon and we needed to leave the property, mind you we had cleared from our campsite. It gets worse because when I called to complain my complaint was disregarded. I was told the lady I encountered was just having a bad day and others have mentioned her bad attitude in the past. Unfortunately people in the past have messed up the bathrooms right after they were cleaned. I was then coldly asked how much money do you want. It was clear to me this establishment had no interest in hearing or correcting complaints. Eventually, I realized that the conversation was not going anywhere and I told the Manager I would just write this review read more

I hate to fuss about RV parks especially when the staff is super busy and most of them doing thier best in a stressful environment. When we decide where to stay, we look at information from five different apps plus online information and reviews; this park was rated very well. However, after our experience I want to make sure what happened to us does not happen to anyone else. Very tight sites; some can't even open their awning. Some sites share electrical poles. Some sites have gravel, others grass and dirt and not very level. No big deal. Some nice shade. We never stay more than two nights without full hookups; our tanks are small. We made a reservation for 3 nights but were not told our site wasn't full hookups. When we checked in we found out and were told there was no way I wasn't told during the reservation phone call. I even checked my notes to be sure. Plus, no other full hook up sites open in the area that we found. Ok, no big deal. Then, we started having power issues. We were told that site sometimes reacts that way especially with surge protectors. I think we all understand that means the power fluxuates drastically. But the camp host acted like the surge protector was the problem. Not real bright. My husband is an engineer. Our power went out if we ran the microwave while the A/C was running. So we were very careful after that. Now our inverter is not working and the A/C unit acting strange. We ran our generator to see if it corrected but the inverter still will not come on. Today we have driven for three hours + still no sign of life. Who knows what else is damaged. The staff and owner know this site and apparently others have electrical issues. Not making that known ahead if time shows profound lack of integrity. Then, I told the camp host I thought it was super messed up to be renting that site and the others without telling people. He responded in a very ignorant and rude way that I am mistaken, and they need not tell anyone because the owner is aware; some people have problems some don't. I bet they ALL do later but don't connect the dots! This man and aparently others have no clue the damage that can cause. Expensive damage. Before we hooked up here we had no problems. Thank God for the surge protector and when we figure out exactly what has happened to the inverter and A/C, we will decide how to proceed. Further, we were told the wifi only works at a few sites. No problem, we can just go to the office and download our email or whatever. We could not see the connection from our site or any others as we walked around and only when near the office porch did it show up. Right on the front porch download was .84 Mbps and upload 1.23 Mbps. We expect streaming issues but not simple data. I tried with both ipad and phone and finally gave up. Advertising wifi that does not even work for data, not mentioning the lack of sewer connection, and more importantly renting sites with known property damaging electrical connections is unethical IMO. The female camp host did her best to offer solutions but there were no other sites available. While the bathrooms and laundry were the cleanest we have seen and the river beautiful, I cannot recommend this RV park to anyone. read more

Let me tell you, this place I absolutely cannot wait to visit again. Dog friendly, kid friendly, next to Williamson River, with a boat launch, 20 minutes away from Crater Lake, super clean, very quiet, and easily accessible from the highway, huge field right behind with horses and a gorgeous view of the sunset. Quiet, Quaint and Convenient! We were on a road trip from Northern Ca to Idaho and needed somewhere to stay the night and rest up. This was the perfect spot. Right off the highway(but not too close) and on the amazing river. Sites are pretty close together, but we had nice neighbors so we were fine. Sites had a small BBQ right on the ground, hook ups and a picnic table. We enjoyed pull through site #6 and it was so easy to pull right out and leave in the morning. The lady at check in Was super friendly and helpful. And having a tiny play area for my kiddos was clutch after a long drive. The campsite is all gravel so no bike or scooter riding. The river was amazing and even had a very nice dock with benches to relax and enjoy the view. The only negative was a near by residential neighbor that came flying into the park to yell at another camper for driving too fast near the main road. Watch your speed or he'll come after you! We would for sure stay again if we were passing through. read more

The place is great. We have been coming here for 30 years but stopped a few years ago because it had become so run down. The new owners put some love into this place and we will be coming back again. Next time for a few days. The bathrooms are so well done. The grass is looking so nice. Hope to bring my grandson here to fish someday.. like I brought his Daddy here when he was a kid. Loved the hostess she is very sweet. Gave us a good tip for dinner. The Mexican restaurant down the road was really good. Such a pretty place. Worth checking out. read more

Super cute campground. Host Nancy is really welcoming. The facilities are brand new and beyond standard for a campground. The river is beautiful und you get to see lots of wildlife. There is a tiny downside, that is called - sound of the highway. I recommend it for short layovers (2-3 nights). Perfect for going up to Crater Lake. read more

Great RV park! We stayed here last minute on the way from Yosemite up to Sisters, Oregon and it was perfect! I wish we could've stayed longer! The only knock on it is that the spots where we stayed were very narrow only providing about 8 feet between RVs. This would have been the second time I have stayed at this park. First time was nice, great atmosphere next to the Sprague river. It has well kept grounds, clean remodeled restrooms, quiet and relaxing. Fishing along Campground shore, kayak launching. Crater lake is a short drive away to also visit and not be to far from main interstate. Tracy the host does a excellent job and accomandates your stay to the best of her abilities as host. We stayed in full hookup pull through site #12 for four nights and it was very comfortable. The electrical post had 30 and 50 amp plugs so we were able to run 2 air conditioners on several 100+ degree days. Very nice! This campground is right next to the Williamson river. We took our beach chairs down and placed them in the water to stay cool. It worked like a charm! Excellent bathrooms with very large showers. The free campground wifi worked at our site and it was pretty good. My AT&T phone had 2 bars and my wife's Verizon phone had 3 bars. The office manager is named Tracy and she is super nice. We did the Highway 138 scenic drive based on her recommendation. Our favorite stops were Toketee and Watson falls. Crater Lake National Park is about an hour away and it is a must see as well. Overall this was a great experience and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you Tracy! read more

This is the kind of campground I hate to review positively because it is so good I would like to keep it a secret. I would much prefer nobody know about this little gem, only so I could stay without having to fight for reservations. This place is lovely and quiet. The staff is friendly, the sites are rustic but well-maintained, and the scenery lovely. We stayed in the sites along the river, which have no dump, but the view was unquestionably worth it. I have been looking for a campsite like this in my dreams for years. This spot was so good we were sorry our stay was only for one night. We definitely will be back next year! read more

This place is a gem! It's very clean, and the kids were able to fish close enough to the RV sites that we could see them while they fished. Bathrooms and showers are clean and beautiful. Cannot beat the location right next to the Williamson River. My boys loved still fishing from the river but didn't catch anything. 45 minutes from Crater Lake. The bathrooms were nicer than most those in most people's homes. Some road noise but pretty easy to ignore. Sunsets are amazing out here. Can be a bit tight if you are big with 4 slides, but there is room to enjoy. Gravel spot with grass, tables and fire pit. Kids enjoyed it and caught lots fish ( though it's catch and release). If you are not invited here don't go, outsiders are not welcome! The park is cute, clean and quaint. Unfortunately a patron harassed us before I could even get out of my car when arriving, condescendingly telling me to slow down and stay off the grass. Even though I was not speeding and we were still getting set up. Then the next day another patron stopped to literally yell at my husband again about the speed from the day before. It's obvious that this park doesn't like outsiders. We felt targeted and harassed as soon as we arrived. We are respectful people when treated with respect. read more

I seldom review places, but this one deserved my time. OMG, this is a "must stay" on every trip through. We've stayed in many on our trips back and forth from AK to SoCal. This is by far the nicest and cleanest. The only issue is the highway and train noise, but you can't be right on the highway and not have some noise. We stayed here two nights the first week in May 2017. Fantastic location right on the Williamson River. While looking out the front window of our motorhome we could see the trout jumping out of the river. A bald eagle was perched right next to the river within a short distance from where we stood in the campground. We got to see it fly around our location on two different occasions. The manager of the site was very friendly and helpful. They had a problem with one of their water heaters and they took care of it to our satisfaction. We had a tent site, which was plenty large with a picnic table and a fire pit with a grate. There was a spigot and a trash can, which made cleaning up easy. Stayed here in a tent on a Friday night in September on a visit to Crater Lake. Spot was nice and clean, and level for a tent. Mostly large RV's in camp. You can hear a little bit of car traffic and the trains, but overall, it was quiet at night. The bathrooms and shower were immaculate. The woman in the office was very nice and helpful. I would stay here again. Proximity to Crater Lake is great. read more
