The team at Crom is wonderful! This was my first experience with PT. I was impressed with their ability to accurately diagnose my issues and treat my injury quickly. I started to notice a significant difference in my pain and flexibility within just a couple of weeks. I did my homework exercises and they gave me a lot of options for more advanced exercises as I progressed so I could continue to work my way back to being fit and flexible; and the new options meant doing the exercises each night never got boring. I called to make an appointment, was asked to provide all the necessary information (personal identifiable and sensitive information) to initiate the insurance approval process for treatment, and was told that I was going to be called back. No call back. I called next day to follow up, the person answering the phone was unable to locate any information about my request for a post op PT appointment. My personal identifiable and sensitive information was nowhere to be found by the person answering the telephone. I was asked to provide the information again to initiate the process. I declined to provide my PII again. It is unprofessional to mishandle PII for a potential patient. I do not recommend this place to trust it with PII and treatment of a very personal nature. I cannot give Zero stars, but from my experience, I do not recommend it. read more

I went to Crom Rehab after my reconstructive knee surgery in October, Dr. Roy started me off by diving right into everything I needed to get my mobility back. When I first started physical therapy there, I was barely able to bend my knee and had a lot of swelling. After about 3 weeks, I was already able to bend my knee without pain and swelling was subsided almost all the way down to normal. I continued to go to therapy 2-3 times a week and before I knew it I was jumping without pain, running with ease and had almost no difficulty doing the things I was barely able to do a month prior. I worked with Dr. Roy, Julia, and Abbey during the week, and they are all such awesome people. They are all so personable and easy to get along with, as well as informative and knowledgeable with every exercise I performed. They definitely pushed the limits to make sure I was ready to go on my own with working out and getting back to playing soccer. Also, I have nothing but great things to say about Andrea, who works at the front desk. She is so sweet and fun to chat with before my sessions began, she was also so helpful scheduling appointments and rescheduling when I had something come up. Overall, I had an awesome experience and was a bittersweet goodbye when I finished therapy. Will definitely recommend everyone to Crom Rehab! After receiving a diagnosis of a SLAP tear in my left shoulder, I found Crōm Rehabilitation through Yelp and couldn't be happier. When i arrived, I had pain radiating down my left arm, couldn't lift it above my head and couldn't do basic things like changing my shirt without considerable pain. It was a minor tear which Dr. Roy felt confident we could solve with therapy and therefore avoid surgery. I had appointments twice a week with Julia, who was amazing. She was patient, friendly, and great at her job. If I came in with extra pain or my shoulder was acting up, she modified that day's exercises and I always left feeling better. I also didn't have much trouble with increased pain after visits. As we progressed, the exercises got more involved with each visit. The at home program Dr. Roy designed was helpful and easy to keep up with. After two months I was released with my shoulder 95% better. No more pain and the strength and range of mobility in my shoulder was almost back to normal. Dr. Roy gave me an upgraded set of at home exercises to do and they've been helping me to get back to 100%. I came to Crōm Rehabilitation because I wanted to avoid surgery and get back to rock climbing, which I hadn't been able to do for several months when I went for my first visit. Now I am pain free without surgery and I've been back to climbing (easy walls for now) for a few weeks. I highly recommend CROM Rehabilitation. It is brand new, small, and offers very skilled and personal service. It is owned and operated by Roy Rivera PhD. Yes, PhD! Roy really knows his stuff and will answer all of your questions in detail. I went for a simple broken foot (fifth metatarsal) that required surgery. Though I was healing properly, my podiatrist recommended Roy. Roy was terrific. He had me doing exercises I never dreamed of like picking up marbles with my toes, moving a towel across the floor, ultrasound, and many other exercises. Roy gained his experience at Memorial Hermann where he performed hands on therapy. After many years there he decided to take the leap and open his own practice. This was my second experience with physiotherapy. My first was to help recover from rotator cuff surgery at a larger practice. Though good, I worked with many different therapists so consequently each had his or her own style. None were bad, but there were one or two I preferred. At CROM, you always get Roy - or his capable assistant. And when you call or walk in you'll be taken care of by the charming and very capable Mirella. Always dressed to the nines and wearing a big smile. There are many physiotherapy practices in Houston. I recommend CROM because Roy knows everything there is to know, is very friendly, has time for you, and will explain everything - even if it is about another issue that may be troubling you. Therapy at Crōm Rehabilitation really works!!! I was referred to Crōm after suffering a lumbar injury. My pain was so bad that it really hindered my daily activities, walking even hurt. I decided to take action and followed my doctors order. Dr. Rivera is amazing! He really walked me through the evaluation and explained what the process was going to look like for the next month. Having driven past this business several times, my curiosity was satisfied when I injured my neck and shoulder. Andrea juggled the doctors full schedules to fit me in straight away, and Drs Matt, Roy and Tyler treated me. Over four and a half weeks, my symptoms disappeared with great treatment, professionalism and courtesy. I also learned a little about shoulder mechanics, injury prevention ..... and a lot about basketball. Not sure why people love this place so much. The staff are nice yes. But I paid $$$ per session to come here for them to tell me what to do then walk away to attend to something else then come back when they see I'm done, then next exercise and repeat - I could just do these exercises at home and would not be worse off, and they did give me the same exercise guide for at-home which was nice but I quickly realized that was all I really needed and in-person sessions were a waste of money. I was expecting someone to help me fix my form, tell me where I should be feeling the exercise, changing things up if too easy or difficult or painful, etc. - apparently this is how other PT places do it so maybe I need to try again elsewhere - but very disappointed none of these things happened unless I asked, and I don't always know when or what to ask ... shouldn't that be their job to inform me?? In sum, two stars for nice people and the custom at-home exercise guide but that's it. read more

I had surgery for a ruptured disk (L5, S1) at the end of November and started seeing Dr. Matt a few weeks later. I started slow, followed a well though-out process/plan and finished much stronger! I'm a sports medicine physician, and when I sprained my ankle during an indoor men's volleyball tournament, I quickly became a patient. I had 6 weeks to get ready for our national tournament. Dr. Roy and the crew at Crom were so helpful in getting me back to playing shape, all from pain reducing therapies, to balance, to their rock wall. No hocus pocus or gimmicks... just good old-fashion work! They play great music to keep you pumped. If you are looking for rehab and physical therapy, this is the place to go. For someone like me who does not like to exercise, they made my physical therapy fun. It was a never a boring day going there. Both the doctors, Dr. Matt and Dr. Rivera are fun to work with and don't get me wrong they also know their job fell. As far as I am concerned, I have always suffered from chronic back problem and I have an impinged nerve, lumbar disc herniation. I did a month of PT with them and they were very helpful. My husband has been taking PT at Crom Rehab for a few weeks. The care and concern that all staff members have shown is A#1. They really do care about improving my husband's quality of life. With their PT and the home exercise program they have given, he is able to do some things he hasn't been able to do since his back accident in 2003. The Sue, Tyler, Ira and Dr. Roy are great at their profession! I was looking for a physical therapist near my house and it just so happen CROM was 1 minute away. I started PT a week after my hip surgery and after 12 weeks I was back to almost a 100%. They did not try to push additional sessions on me which I have experienced at other clinics. The facility kept clean and they have new equipment. I like the fact that they pay attention to their patients even when they are busy. I just completed 20 rehab sessions (my insurance provider max) at the Shepherd location over the course of a few months with this caring, professional crew. Tyler, Amanda, Gabby, Jose and Dr. Rivera were the crew I saw the most during my visits. My time there was memorable, and they got me rehabbed from a leg surgery back to as close as I'm going to get to "normal use" and range of motion for the leg. They also worked with me on some scheduling conflicts, which really helped since I work full time. I feel really good about investing that time in Crom's services. They came through for me, working with strength, lots of balance, and control. Lots of variety in the tasks I did, with follow-up assessments to track progress. The workout felt focused and challenged me. Things I noticed were they cared about how you were doing that day, because every day you have a different energy; they listened; and they played a good 90s mix station. OK that was irrelevant, but the atmosphere was upbeat and supportive. The best thing is I have some helpful "homework" exercise videos to refer back to now that I'm on my own, and I have the tools to know how to work out my injury at the gym as well, using the gym's equipment instead of being at Crom. All in all I got back on my feet and saw results, in what felt like a cool "group gym" atmosphere. Thanks Crom, for being there for me!! read more

Over the years I've had my fair share of physical therapy for bulging discs/degenerative disc disease. Matt and Fernando were excellent in making sure I was getting the treatment I needed. They made me work hard through every exercise and never let me slack off! Every time I went in for PT they would ask me how I was feeling and make the necessary adjustments within my treatment plan. I met all my goals within the allotted time frame for my PT and was able to leave them pain free. Also, Matt and Fernando (and everyone who works there, for that matter) are personable, friendly, and have a sense of humor. Even though I didn't enjoy actually doing the exercises they assigned to me, I truly looked forward to going to PT every time. Seeing how effective the treatment was, I have continued my PT exercises on my own at home and I have been able to contact them in the meantime with any questions I've had.
