I'd like to give a higher number of stars. The people working there are all, well most, are friendly and helpful. I was just in to get a new natural gas weber grill, my near 20 year old silver A is about ready for scrap metal scavengers. Half it's life was spent up north and still used in the winter, which I'm sure stressed every metal atom in it despite my care. They have few (two really) weber grills to look at, so I talked with someone who was friendly and explained that I needed to pick things out from a catalog they had and order on line. That was fine I said as I had done a lot of research already and knew what I wanted. He mentioned needing to order it that Saturday early afternoon if I wanted it to get to them by Tuesday, have it assembled and delivered later that next week. He also explained that they do not connect the grill to my gas line, I or whomever was installing the line would have to do it. So I ordered it on my phone while there. I had more shopping to do, including grill accessories, so started on that until I saw there was no one in line at the checkout counter. So I stopped there, showed a lady my phone order email, and asked about paying for assembly, delivery, etc. then or when I was done shopping. Well she there said no, lets get it done now while no one was in line. She got out paper work from a binder and started filling in info on me, my order, address, etc. She was uncertain about assembly and delivery charges so she called in a gentleman to get the right prices and times. We agreed to costs, it was again explained to me that they do no hose connecting. They checked about my assistance unloading and I said I needed an extra person to unload and get it on my deck because of my bad back, so they added that charge, and decided the next Thursday afternoon would be fine for delivery. All friendly, all's good, I shop more, and get help checking out at the garden area where I shopped last. I
spent near another 200 bucks in addition to the 700 spent on the grill and delivery. Everyone's happy. I buy coffee from the Boy Scouts who help me carry stuff to my car. Well, come early Monday morning, I get a call from the delivery manager about how the grills coming in that afternoon and was I gonna come and get it. I explained that it was all set up with the folks I worked with at the counter. He was a bit gruff and flustered because he should have that paper work on his desk in back - I said I had a receipt, couldn't remember the lady's name but mention the gentleman (only remembered because his names on the receipt) and the details. He had to check into things and get back to me. He couldn't figure out when, or it seemed, if (?) I came into the store or how it was setup without him knowing and seemed perturbed at me about it. He called back, still hadn't found the paperwork or someone who knew where it was, but somewhat begrudgingly got the info (never asked for any info on the receipt), and repeated the no hook-up limitation which I said I knew about. Well, he and a younger guy came later that week with the assembled grill. He had called earlier that morning to confirm and then again when they were on the way. Rain was coming, he mentioned it, but unfortunately, a light rain started not much before they got there. He definitely seemed to still be perturbed, put-out would be the way I'd describe it. The distance to our back deck wasn't far, but I mentioned backing the van thru a gate and into the backyard to make things even easier, but they said no. They got the grill out of the van, wheeled it for a bit, then carried it over grass. It's raining, no one has gloves on, it's a metal grill, and they have to go up 6 steps to the deck (I had also explained that to everyone). Precarious, but accomplished. Then he mentions the paperwork, heads back to the van to get it, "hands" it to me and says here they are, and off they go. No "thanks, enjoy your grill, come back and shop for or ask about any more needs". Look, I'm a customer, spending a good bit of money, and if someone in their organization didn't follow protocol, that should be of no concern or expressed as such to me. And despite this, I'll be back there to shop with the other friendly employees. read more
