What a lovely store the former hardware store has turned into! Where else can you go to get things from Trista sunshine company, saltgrass farms, local artisans, and God's goods! I was able to get so many cute items, as well as delicious goodies to take home and heat up!! God's goods is 100% Charity driven. To date they have almost donated $700,000 in goods and services and grants. Stopped here for some potting soil. This is a fairly nice country hardware store. Smaller than most Ace Hardware stores where I usually shop, it has a limited selection. There's a small garden center out front. In the back of the store there's a USPS desk and a marketplace featuring wares of local artists and artisans. My wife was shopping flowers and came in a few min after me. They greet you and ask how they can help. 8/30/2018 Jeff was on us as soon as we looked inquisitive and had us a couple of US Flag keys made in a jiffy. He helped me out with my loyalty reward card and was very professional as well as pleasant. The same kind of service we always receive. Go Acc These guys are always at the top of their game. And having a Post Office inside adds to the wonder. Beautiful flowers await you at the entrance and it gets better from there. Numerous and knowledgeable employees inside and out. I was helped to find a lawn mower air filter yesterday. When I showed the guy mine (caked with about 2" thick clay and grass, he laughed almost uncontrollably. I had to join him as the lawnmower had already been used successfully once a week ago. But yesterday she wouldn't start. Now the carburetor can get oxygen but there's still a problem. Anyone know of a good lawn mower repair company nearby? 11/2/18 It never fails. I need something and sometimes even I don't know what it is - I come here and people just like Brian, who's been here 8 years now, appear like magic with the best advice and if there's something in their store, of the millions of the items there, they can and will find it. I disagree that they aren't focused on customer service here. Every time I come in they're more than willing to help and know the store inside and out. I would prefer to come here than the big box down the street. The only downfall is that Ace obviously doesn't have as a big a selection. I'll usually check here first, then try other options if needed. I love that they have a Post Office in here too. They're full service so you can get anything done you normally would at the other Mt P USPS (except picking up mail) and save yourself a ton of time. An even bigger bonus is that Sweetgrass Cafe is attached to the side of the building so make sure to schedule your home improvement break around lunch time. read more

Great local home improvement store. I have driven by many times, and the sign saying "Pre-emergent time" drew me in. Outside area can hold lots of plants and flowers, it's still winter so selection was limited. But I've seen it full as the season progresses. I was immediately greeted upon entering and then 3 more times. The store has many items you want and need for home. I found the pre-emergent, then picked up some bird suet on sale. Checkout was easy, and another friendly interaction. I'm coming back again, and hope to find veggies and colorful plants to buy. The service is well appreciated. read more

I mainly go to Ace to use their U.S. Postal service. It's much easier then going to the main post office. The wait usually isn't too long and the service is always friendly. The ace employees are always friendly and willing help you find what you need. There is a good supply of hardware, tools, plumbing supplies, yard supplies and plants. read more

I needed to have 2 replacement keys made for my motor vehicle. Many places that make copies of regular keys are not able to make copies of automobile keys because of the security feature used in them. Sweetgrass Hardware was not only able to make a copy, but Dave spent close to 45 minutes making sure it was a perfect fit and that it opened the door to our vehicle smoothly. He was very helpful and engaging throughout the whole process and the cost was about the same as having a regular key made. It saved me the cost of going to the dealership and paying hundreds of dollars per key. Everyone I interacted there from the moment I walked in was super friendly. read more

This store is my go to for several reasons. It's small in comparison to the bigger hardware giants in the area but that is what I like about it. It's a family run franchise with the friendliest of staff. They are beyond helpful in every aspect of the store. Let's start with the excellent selection of annuals & perennials that they have on display. All the plants are in great shape and the staff working on them are more than helpful to those of us with not so much of a green thumb. So, this is one of my go to stores for plants. Then there is the Post Office tucked away at the back of the Store, Full service, short lines, friendly helpful staff. Then all the hardware, gardening, fishing sections. If you are like me and a little clueless about hardware stuff, the staff are only too eager to help. I love that parking is right outside the door and a food van attached to the side of the store with outdoor seating. If you have never tried Ace, you need to check it out. Past frequent shopper but disappointed when I used the post office in the store. I actually volunteered to mail a return package so that I could go the hardware store. It was a postage paid return and I needed to tape the end of small shipping bag. The normal PO always has a roll of tape. They made my buy a roll of tape for almost $5 to get a 4-6 inch piece of tape to mail a POSTAGE PAID RETURN package. I know their prices are higher than the big box, but I used to go to support local business. But it goes both ways. The employee at the counter was actually rude about it. When I showed her what I needed and asked for a piece of tape, she snapped back, "You can buy some". read more

This store is just absolutely great. The customer service on the floor is superb. I come in here almost every week as a work next store and i am in constant need of hardware. The sales reps out on the floor are always there to kindly help you find what you need, and give you detailed information about every product in the store. They will give you tips on what to buy and tips on whatever project you are working on. Especially when it comes to screws, bolts, and nuts. Ace is a large chain of stores, but when you come in here it feels like your at a local family run store. I always prefer coming here over lowes because you just cant get the amount of personalized help that you get here anywhere else. They have just about everything you could need with a wide array of products and departments. If you need a key made, come here instead of the minute-key in lowes. The last two days in the Sweetgrass Ave Hardware store I've dealt with an Ace employee, the name on his jacket tag reading "Wil V.". Wil (hope I'm spelling the name right; two Ls perhaps?) was very friendly and courteous, knew what to do - and if he didn't know he asked another senior employee - and he had a nice friendly sense of humor.
