Deno's is one of those Coney Island mainstays that conjures up a certain nostalgia and lets you leave your worries behind for awhile enjoying a day of happiness. Coney Island is one of New York's sacred places, and Deno's and the Wonder Wheel should be where you take out-of-town visitors to experience "The Real New York" as opposed to Times Square! Deno's reminds me of simpler and happier times as a child and I'm fortunate to created memories here as a father by bringing my son to Deno's from the time he could walk; I'll certainly cherish all the smiles the children's park brought to his face and I hope I have the opportunity to take my niece and future generations of kids in our family down to Deno's in the years to come. Coney Island, and Deno's, are a throwback to the best of New York City: a place where anyone from any race, religion, and social strata can find reprieve from the hustle and grind of our demanding city. May Deno's continue to thrive forever under the stewardship of the Vourderis who have brought so much joy to generations of New Yorkers and people worldwide who've made the trip to our shared pocket of wonderful in Southern Brooklyn.

Deno's has the legendary Wonderwheel and a few other small rides. Luna Park has way more: Cyclone, SlingShot, Thunderbolt, ElectroSpin, etc. Also worth noting, there's no clear indication that you are walking around Deno's or Luna Park. Deno's is kinda embedded and Luna Park kinda surrounds Deno's. It's all VERY confusing. All that said, both offer an awesome time. Just do it.

I love how this beach is accessible through multiple transit options: ferry, train and bus. It is not necessarily the cleanest beach, but you can't really complain as Rockaway beach is around the same.

We have the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk back home but Coney Island dwarfed it. For a Friday, the 2 amusement parks were busy with lots of kids and parent chaperones wearing the same t-shirts. I wasn't here to ride the rides but to wander and take it all in. Ticket prices varied per ride (little kids cheaper than the more thrilling ones for older kids/adults. All day wrist bands also were offered and maybe a better deal if staying a few hours or hitting the big rides. Lots of food options available in and around the parks. The most recognizable one for me was Nathan's Hot Dogs which actually served seafood, burgers and more besides their famous namesake hot dogs. The wooden boardwalk was in good condition and wide. It extended all the way down to the aquarium and Brighton Beach.. lots of benches to sit or sun yourself. Bathrooms were located near the beach but interestingly elevated above. Nice design from the outside but a little cleaner than your typical public bathrooms since there were staff busy cleaning when I popped in. The beaches wasn't as busy as the park and even less people were in the water. Overall fairly clean that day. Lifeguards were on duty, FDNY zipped by in a unique ATV style ambulance and later a patrol showing a good attention to safety and quick response. I'm glad I was able to finally see Coney Island in person. It should have enough options to entertain, thrill or just let you relax.

The Mister works to create an experience that's truly fun and engaging for everyone involved - party people, DJs, bartenders and doormen alike.The unique thing was that there were people from all the different age groups right from youngsters to families with kids at the day party venue. The place actually looks like a back side of a warehouse but with DJ floor in the middle and all the decorations of lights and a disco ball in the middle, this place is a very unique spot for a Sunday day party.They did have a bar serving beer, vodka and sangria though it was not a full bar but it serve the purpose. Spitting, no spitting, sun, no sun. I swear she was schizophrenic. But even despite the uncooperative weather, there were still some diehard dancers out. And the place wasn't crowded, so I was able to get down. Nothing like dancing in the rain. They serve beer and sangria. But ice service was late, so we were drinking warm beers and room temperature sangria. There is also a Red Hook vendor serving up tacos. I didn't have any but my friends liked the tacos. I like house music and with a soulful woman singing in the background. They played a lot of that, so naturally, I was in my element. I forgot what it was like to dance and just be around people who love to dance. I can't stand it when you go to a venue and people aren't really feeling the music and the venue is a meat locker. I am not into meat. Such a great feeling! There was an amazing Asian dancer there who knew how to dance, and I was mesmerized. I really was in love with the energy in this place. It was infectious and I contracted the bug immediately. Come check out the "yard" to get your grove on. Shake your ass and dance with a few strangers. Every time I get the opportunity I have to go see the sideshow acts. Coney Island was my go to place at one time. I'm fond of the Fortune Teller. That was pre-Covid-19. I don't know what you will find if you visit Coney Island now. I'm posting some photos I took a long time ago. I have my memories of fun times until I can get back to Coney Island Park again. I hope the sideshow will still be there. There's one of my photos of what was a beer joint. Coney Island Brewery is there now. There was one more act & then they were asking us to pay more money to see something else. I appreciate the art & understand the sideshow needs to be supported, but I paid for a show & saw maybe 15 minutes of actual acts. I hope they reconsider the format & their approach to donations.

Not a very huge park so can easily walk around before the game to look around. Plenty of food options - just decide on what you want to eat. Get a view of Luna Park from one corner of the park. Good times had by all and some nights they do have fireworks as well. Safety is important - during batting practice and the game, pay attention at all times as the balls do come flying across. If leaving by car, might want to head out a bit earlier as it does take awhile from the parking lot. Just remember where you parked the car!
