I have been going to the Outpost for decades. The Cagle family ran a great store. I am friends with them and the new owner. As another guy said, the ownership changed a little while back. Vick was busy learning his business and improving where he could, as any business owner buying a business with aging equipment and in a new market would. He bought an old store that was good, but needed work. He has bounced back, learned the clientele, and has made improvements. Vick is hands on and works as hard as his employees. He doesn't hang out and chat everyone up while his employees work. He's a solid guy. The food is good. The service is great. Vick does have a strong passion for being part of the community. Stop in. Grab a biscuit or burger and hang out a bit. If you see the FB page with a photo of a barn, that is not this place. Someone took a photo of the barn across the street. read more

The Eldorado Outpost is the coolest outpost in Eldorado. You buy your Uwharrie OHV Trail Passes here. Last time I was there BOTH air machines were down. That is a problem as hundreds of people need to inflate their tires each week after riding Uwharrie's OHV tails. I hope these are fixed for 2021. Anyways, great place with all of your camping needs, fishing gear, bait, clothes & food. All kinds of neat stuff. It's basically a mandatory stop if you're going to Uwharrie or Baden Lake. read more

El dorado outpost is always a good place to go when visiting the uwharrie. Today I had a BLT which was a big as my face. It's a good place to pick up some drinks and snacks too. The chicken and home fries are amazing. read more

I have been going to Eldorado for close to 20 years and always had a great experience. Recently the Cagle family has sold the outpost to a group and in the last year, in my opinion, the service, food, and experience and personal touch have gone downhill. The Cagle family members used to stop to say hello and catch up or if they didn't know you would stop by, introduce themselves and talk to you. It was the personal genuine relationship. Now whoever runs to the place seems "planted" behind the counter and does seem to care about getting to know the customers. The food has gone downhill; prices increasing and quality of food decreasing. I hope the new owners can understand this is a special place and turn the situation around very soon. read more

i come here every year whenever I go camping. The store has great quality food with affordable prices. The outpost is important to many other campers and outsdoorsmen that provides nessesities like gas and air pumps, while also having convient items like live fish bait. The staff and owners are socialable and easy to talk to. read more

Do not buy their wood bundles. They sell green wood. Doesn't burn. Bought 12 bundles of wood for my camping weekend. All of it was green. Management doesn't take returns on wood bundles and didn't even seem to care they were ripping off their customers. read more

We come to Uwharrie often to take our Jeep out on the trails. This is always our first stop to grab a drink and purchase a pass for the trails. Store has everything you need for a weekend camping trip. Air, Gas and food for the return trip. read more

We stayed at Arrowhead Campground in 2012 and we frequented this store for supplies. On one rainy April Sunday we got there just at closing time and they went ahead and made us a large supreme pizza. They easily have sent us on our way but they took pity on us. They are friendly there. A lot of neat stuff to see too. I bought a nice t-shirt there. read more
