I really liked this place. Service was on point. The manager was knowledgeable and friendly too. I…read morereally liked the outdoor patio and the building architecture. I was so intrigued I looked up the history of the building, and the automotive companies that inhabited the building before the restaurant. Were you around when the Pontiac show room always had a white Christanas tree in the main window for Christmas? The food was upscale pub food. The Onion rings were delicious. The Sloppy Joes were memerable and I loved my chicken salad. Most importantly, the drinks were great. I would love to stop by again.

We went to Five Points Public house for a weekday lunch and only had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. The food was good, the interior architecture is nice to look at, and we will be back. The restaurant is a mix of booths and tables with chairs. You can tell the building is old, but had been tastefully worked into a restaurant by the age on the exposed brick within. The whole front of the restaurant faces one of the main roads for downtown, and has large windows that bring in tons of natural light. This place is good for a date night, a group gathering, or anything in between. There's even some bar seating if that's your thing. Our table got the French dip and a make-your-own burger. The French dip was easily shared by my little and me, as the portion size was large. The build-your-own-burger comes exactly as you want it, cooked to your temperature preference, but I will say the patty could have had more seasoning on it. The onion rings are amazing, and the onion adheres perfectly to the batter. One thing I hope to be able to use in the future is the Pontiac Room, which is their second story event space. They have a nice sign that gives details about the space, and I truly believe it would be good for wedding receptions, large parties, or large group gatherings. I don't know if there is an elevator to this space, so you'd need to check on that should your group have mobility concerns. Overall, this is a place that we will bring the whole crew to in the future.

They offer beer, cider, and meades as well as a list of recommended ways to mix them. They have tons of seating inside and a large patio full of tables, creating an open and relaxed atmosphere. The food is perfect! Everything we had from beer, appetizers to meal was delicious. They have a large parking lot and are family-friendly . Definitely stop in if you are in the area. Try Freya's love bite, their strawberry blonde ale, hands down one of the best I've ever had!

I was told that the original location is in Concord, and later found out that they don't just brew beer, but also mead! We came in on a Friday night after dinner and it was lively but not over crowded with a performer up on stage playing guitar and singing some classics. In addition to their beer and mead, they have a list of creative cocktails as well as a food menu. The food coming out looked great! If we weren't full from dinner we would have surely indulged. Overall the vibe isn't typical for a brewery and feels more like a neighborhood pub, they even have arcade games and pool tables, things you're most likely to find at a dive than a micro brewery. I loved the atmosphere and everyone enjoyed their beverages. They had a cheer wine cider that was especially tasty. Not I need to go check out the OG, but this location in Locust is top notch.

It was a scorching hot North Carolina day in April when we arrived for the afternoon tour at…read moreSouthern Grace Distillery. We had paid in advance and made it just in the nick of time to join our group of about a dozen people. The crowd was a mix of adults and children; personally, I didn't quite understand the presence of kids on a jailhouse and whiskey tour, but the group was ready to dive into the history. The tour kicked off with chilling news of hauntings. Our guide mentioned that the show "Ghost Hunters" had even visited the site, certifying the old jail as haunted--though fortunately by "friendly" spirits. The sensory experience was a bit of a rollercoaster. I generally enjoy the scent of bourbon, and the initial aroma upon entering the distillery is quite pleasant. However, the main room where we spent a significant portion of the tour had a scent that was overwhelming and wholly unpleasant. That said, the content of the tour was good. It provided a well-balanced mix of intriguing historical facts about the prison and the technical side of whiskey making. The kids got restless during the tour and actually started brutally kicking each other in the shins. They each had on shell toed Crocs, so you could hear the crunch of bone and flesh beneath each kick. Their parents let it go on indefinitely. The hour passed quickly and was well worth the $14 adult admission. The tasting at the end is not for the faint of heart. They serve hard liquor, and I do mean HARD. My lips were numbing and my face was next. I had to tap out after the third swig! On the bright side, the gift shop is fantastic. They have the most darling items; we walked away with two tote bags and a delicious pink lemonade drink that will be perfect for sharing with friends this summer. This is a unique, affordable way to spend an hour, provided you can handle the heat and the high proof!

The small sitting area also houses their original small still they currently produce their gin in. Pretty cool piece of history. So about the juice...They're really got some good stuff. You can do a curated flight for 10 dollars each pour, you can also do single pours of whatever they have available as well from their core products to the single barrels. I really love what they're doing with the "Story" line where they experiment with different finishes and blends. I'm not a huge rye guy but they are certainly doing it right. That says a lot for me to grab 2 to take home of their rye single barrels..my bartender was so cool and knowledgeable I even grabbed the one he actually picked. Overall 10/10. They're giving the bigger names a definite run for their money. You will not go wrong supporting and drinking local with them. Hands down the best in the charlotte area. They do offer shipping but, you NEED to go in for the full experience and the option to grab distillery exclusive bottles. #Foodierunner approved lol
