The owner and salon are both nice. The bad review is due to one hair dresser. Attached is the before, what I asked for, and the after. Don't get it twisted, this isn't just a Tiger stripped front, it's toned green, blue, and pink in the back. I asked for a partial refund so I can afford the color correction elsewhere. The stylist offered to "throw a few foils in the front " by squeezing me in to her "last appointment before she leaves for vacation". Of course I declined having her touch my hair again. Oh, and she offered to refund my tip because ya know she "spent 3.5 hours of her time and used product".. guess I'm being punished for her wasting my time and money. This isn't just a I'm not happy with the color situation. Please do look at all the photos before you book. The owner did offer to correct for free. I have a funeral sat and I'm part of the mass. In addition to grieving the loss, I'm now going to attend worried about looking like a clown. I'm going to take the stylist to small claims court and will not be back. It's not that it didn't get light enough, I understand hair only lifts as much as it lifts, it's the piss poor job and terrible response that really get me :(. Devastated read more

I was seen by the hair master Syndee and she delivered for sure! I have to say although my hair turned out how I wanted it to aka winning- her personality and how she talks you through what she can do is a close runner up to being the best thing about this appointment with her. Syndee is extremely educated, talented, and patient! My hair took about 4 hrs or so (trying to go platinum) and she definitely took her time to make sure my hair was perfect but she doesn't make you feel like you're taking too much of her time. For reference I've sat in a chair elsewhere for close to 4-5 hrs and not had the results I got with Syndee. She makes sure she isn't damaging your hair either! I came home with soft healthy hair after a heavy lightening which was amazing! I definitely recommend her if you want a PRO!!!!!! Syndee thank you for everything!!! I have some grays that are notoriously resistant to color, and I had pretty much resigned myself to the idea that I would be salt-and-pepper looking at age 39. In the hopes that somebody might be able to get my hair looking good again, I made an appointment with Syndee at Electric Beach, and she did a better job than I could have ever imagined. She is extremely skilled and serious about her work. She did everything possible to give me the look I was hoping for and more! I have only been in oakdale for a few years now. I previously had a wonderful girl for years in san Luis Obispo but hadn't found someone i could really trust to take care of my hair here in oakdale untill today. I highly recommend Syndee at Electric Beach Salon. She sat with me in a free consultation and went over my hair options. I am 51 years young and have gray hair starting to shine through. I wanted to embrace it but also keep up with how i feel inside. I knew i was up against the getting old thing and did not have any high expectations. Boy i was wrong. I was totally blown away. She took a grey fun loving grandmother of 6 and turned it into sexy suffocated loving life women. Her knowledge of 30 + years of experience and education definitely shines through. Ok so I have 1 thing to say.. SHELLEY. She does amazing nails. My acrylics have never lifted and it's nice to be able to communicate with ease to my nail artist. She does exactly what I want every time! She's busy so make sure to rebook after each appointment. She's friendly, affordable and a true artist. Shelly is why I'm leaving the 5 star rating.. 2nd half of my review. Contrary to someone saying good things about their Brazilian they received here. I had one done a few years back but oh man, did this woman mess up one part.. I am a licensed cosmetologist and I know how down stairs waxing should be performed. This woman did one part of my wax completely wrong, therefore leaving me in pain and slightly swollen. She was kind and thorough, Her only mistake was that one part of the waxing procedure. It was valentines day, so I'm sure she was very busy and trying to rush through.. But unfortunately it was at the expense of my vagina. Please lady, be more careful with lady parts next time. Went in for a Haircut. The person that cut my hair did a horrible job. I asked for face framing and layers in the back. My hair was up to my waist walking in when I left it was to the middle of my back, I was ok going short but my hair had no form to it. It looked like it was just cut across straight and the front had no framing. Not once was I asked if the cut was ok or if I liked it, I was never given a mirror to see what the back looked like. The minute I got to my car I wanted to cry of how much I hated my new haircut. The person also had zero personality. She looked like she didn't want to be there. I found it unprofessional that between her and another hairstylist they talked about the client that had just got her hair colored. I would not recommend going in for a haircut. Ps. I got my hair cut again the very next morning elsewhere and I loved it! read more

I love this place!!! I was on about an eight month long excursion to find a great hair dresser in sd and that was a big FAIL! I came up to the central valley to visit my parents one weekend and ran into one of their customers, when I asked her who did her hair she told me about this awesome place, I've been hooked ever since! Please note, I live in San Francsico, but drive to Oakdale on a bi monthly basis to get my hair done at Electric Beach. I love this salon, and all the ladies that go with it! I feel very relaxed as soon as I walk in, and almost alwasy schedule a massage or spa treatment after my color and cut. You can't go wrong scheduling with Roxanne, Yvette, Cassie, Katrina, Katie or Jenna, they all are very, very talented, stylish, and hip women who have a keen eye for hair cuts and coloring. Not only have I had my hair colored and trimmed on a regualr basis at Electric Beach (mainly by Cassie) but i have also go to get updos for special occasions and weddings. PS they also have a makeup artist onsite, as well as sell really awesome mineral makeup, in which i usefrequently. I wish I could bring this salon up the SF! Okay I was referred to Kayla burford with a high recommendation , she was pretty good the first time I went to see her, when I left the salon, the roots on my hair were fluorescent RED yes I didn't mind some red but not fluorescent!!! I reached out to her and asked if she would correct it!! NO SHE SAID NEXT TIME I CAME BACK SHE WOULD FIX IT... no one should have to go around to weddings and family parties with fluorescent red hair... the first time i went there I was willing to wait till next appointment. SHE CHARGED ME $170.00 for a weave!!! I have never paid more than $140.00 with a tip!!!.... I went back to her because she had a plan to get my hair where I was expecting.. she told me she was going to charge me $90.00 for a root touch up... she charged me $123.00 lol because she said she did a toner to my hair... reality. She was pisssed off about me saying something about the fluorescent red!!! This is sooo unprofessional. Karma will follow up with you Kendel. You have no customer service skills. I will share what you did to my hair because you are young and experienced ..NOT AT ALL.. you have so much to learn about customer service !! You are not who you think you are!! She took the time to listen to my concerns with what I did not like about my haircut and made feel confident that she could correct it without taking too much more length off. Roxanne is seriously the best with cut and color. We spent the first half hour talking about what I wanted as far as color and cut and her mixing the color. Once she started the whole process took an hour and a half. That's application, color setting, cut & style. Quickest I've ever been in and out of a chair. This review is not neccessarily of Electric Beach but of Katrina Dugo, a hairstylist there. I followed her there from another salon a few years ago. She is very sweet and funny but more importantly amazingly gifted. She has gone to New York to take classes to keep up on the latest styling techniques. I recently moved to southern california where I thought I could go to a celebrity stylist and be happy. I was so wrong. Nobody compares to how Katrina cuts and colors my hair. My entire family goes to her. We just convinced my mom that she needed a more stylish haircut (no old lady stuff) and sent her to Katrina who did such an amazing job, my mom was shocked and absolutely loved it, she said it was the color she has always wanted but never got. My entire family gets compliments on our hair everywhere we go haha, it's pretty funny. Needless to say, she is worth the drive from southern california! And her prices are very fair for how talented she is, for a cut and color it's about $80-100 (just depends on what you're doing). As for the salon itself, I've had a facial there, it's was pretty good and a pedicure too, also pretty good. It's a cute place, clean and nicely decorated. There is always a lot of parking too, but then again I guess thats normal for Oakdale (I'm getting used to there never being parking down in socal). read more

I went here twice.. With Two different stylist cause my first choice wasn't available ( first choice being Katie) I can tell you that after my horrible experience.. (All bad, all wrong, horrible!!!!) with one of the stylist i will ONLY go to Katie Wann. She is absolutely great!! I had long hair and was pregnant during the summer so i decided i wanted to cut my hair very short.. A bob! Katie was very through. I told her exactly what and how i wanted it and she did exactly that! She would constantly recheck my cut. I would honestly say she seemed like a perfectionist!! Which is great!! I got the cut i was looking for. She did a great job and will only go to her!!! As far as the other stylist.. I was in need of a good stylist and a family member recommended that I call Electric Beach. The person who answered the phone when I called booked me an appointment with Cassie . Cassie was able to fix the mess I had made of my hair (I had been coloring it myself for almost a year) I wanted to go from a dark brown red to a dark blonde, Cassie worked for over 2 hours correcting my color mistakes, and she did an amazing job. I love my new color and the way she cut my hair has made it so easy for me to style everyday . The Salon has a warm and inviting atmosphere and the owner is super friendly. I had never been to this salon before but heard many great things about it. I had a bad spray tan experience the day before I came in and Jenny was absolutely amazing and fixed it for me.
