This is the only place I will go. I've had both my tattoos done by Cody. I told myself I was only going to get one years ago. Now I have two and a list of others I want. Electric Chair is so chill and a comfortable environment. I've looked at other artists works here and they are all very VERY talented! I walked in on a Monday, hearing of there reputation around town I had to stop and check it out. (I had visited three shops that day) I was explaining to the front desk gentleman exactly what I wanted when an artist stepped out and said he thought he would be up for the task. I took a look at Justin's work and was blown away - booked an appointment for Wed at 3:00. When I walked in he was about ready for me and we got to work. He didn't talk a whole lot, which some people might care about, but I had my boyfriend with me who helped a lot. He was fast - able to get this HUGE piece on me in 5 hours and He charged me $100 an hour which I thought was fair. The finishing product was amazing - I'm still blown away. He was really able to take my idea, spin his flavor in it, and gave me EXACTLY what I wanted! I couldn't be happier! Thanks Electric Chair! read more

I was visiting Flint for the holidays when my 4-month daith piercing fell out. I was anxious about finding a skilled piercer in the area to help put the jewelry back in, but the piercer at Electric Chair, Adam, did not disappoint. The shop was professional, clean, and all instruments used were sterile. Adam cleaned my ear and was able to insert the daith jewelry in about one minute--I had a great experience here! read more

Frank, you are unprofessional and disrespectful. from the beginning it was cool & the person i talked to before hand was really cool! he was interested in the tattoo, made it seem like an amazing experience. personally someone else coming into an appointment talking about another person coming in & the artist doing the tattoo expresses, "i can't wait for ____ to come in", "i always know i'm gonna do a cool tattoo & take a picture every time". i find that so passive. A. you made your client uncomfortable. B. if you do not like the tattoo you are literally being paid to do (it's not on your body). i'm sure you have been tattooing for a long time. your work looks great. i can definitely tell you put the work and time in a tattoo YOU ENJOY DOING. the music being played by the artist made the experience/vibe unsettling. almost every song talking about, "white boy" this and "snow flake" that. overall i expected a more welcoming, comforting and memorable experience. read more

I have gotten my tattoo work from Chad at the Clio location so when I was in Flint and wanted to get a piercing I headed right to the Flint location since I was in town. Was not disappointed. Me and my fiancé went to the Electric Chair Tattoo shop on Miller road in Flint yesterday. We had a few ideas and concept ideas for both tattoos and possible dermal/anchor implants. Upon arrival, we weren't very welcomed as we walked in. The guy at counter acted like we were an annoyance while he texted or looked something up on his phone. Once finally getting his attention he stated that he would not recommend doing the procedure we were inquiring about.....which is fine and after more research we found that dermal/anchor procedure in fingers were in fact a bad idea. However the attitude, and tone was condescending and like many other "tattoo shop squatters" guy acted like he was so cool and artsy and knew way more about everything in the tattoo and piercing world than we possibly ever could. So after he basically told us how stupid our idea was, he proceeded to try and sell us on getting magnets implanted in our skin so when we touch our fingers react.....WTF? Then after telling us to get magnets implanted we asked if they could be implanted into the finger.....he said no. Then about 5 mins later I asked if he had any magnets inside him....he replied yes, and proceeded to show us his FINGER which had a magnet implanted inside...again WTF? No guy we don't want YOU(random counter guy) installing magnets in our skin that aren't visible and really serve no purpose at all compared to what we had in mind in the first place. So then after the magnet debacle....we were also both considering getting some ink done.....LARGE PIECES.....SLEEVES......ALOT OF DETAIL.....ALOT OF TIME.....EXPENSIVE.....think you get the point. We stated that we would like to see some of the artists artwork. He replied that he told someone and they would be right with us. After standing there at counter for 20 min, waiting for one of the 10 dudes that were standing there with their thumb up their...and him never speaking or acknowledging us again......we decided it was a good idea to leave. VERY DISSAPOINTED......STAY AWAY FROM MAGNET MAN!! On a side note, we also checked out Snake and Dagger tattoo on Dort Hwy....same business, same ideas. They greeted us immediately....answered our questions in a polite manner....did not talk to us at all like we were stupid and they were gods of the tattoo universe. We were in and out fast, and were completely satisfied with our experience. We will be giving them our $2000-$3000 in the near future. read more

Literally the worst experience I've ever had at a tattoo/piercing place. First off I walk in and stand at the counter for a good 10 minutes and no one acknowledged my boyfriend and I but I see 5 different workers in there laying around on the couch playing with their cellphones than finally someone passes and asks if we've been helped yet.. No we haven't. I let him know I want my nose pierced and what were my options to look at in the counter since the counter was glass and had jewelry in it. I point to one and ask if that was a nose ring and he made me feel stupid for asking. I tell him I don't have much time I need to run to the mall and get something and I swear once I said that he took his sweet ass time. Finally pick out my jewelry that I want and he's literally just an asshole the whole time. Proceeds to tell me the nose ring has to be cleaned for 10 minutes, okay that was fine. 10 minutes pass, go into his room and he takes his time putting the dot on my nose, changing his gloves, etc than tells me to lay down. He covers my face up for whatever reason, and says he's gonna go from the inside out. First off apparently he didn't line it up properly, and lost contact with the piercing needle and couldn't line it back up again, and was yelling for someone else to come help him and the guy just wouldn't come till I'm crying in pain. His phone started going off and had it pressed against the table I was laying on so I'm vibrating and its blaring slip knot... I asked 3 times for it to get turned off or have the vibrating of my table to stop. He kept telling me to calm myself, and breathe - which I was trying to do but I was in terrible pain. And while he's trying to do whatever in my nose he kept wiggling it causing more pain. I've had my nose pierced before, multiple tattoos, and other piercings so I wasn't just being a sissy. It was literally just the worst experience ever. I will never ever go there again. And I believe the guy that attempted piercing my nose was Adam. read more
