They perform small plays and music productions. Nice little theater with zero bad seats!

Had a wonderful time going to see the play "To Kill a Mockingbird" and highly recommend everyone go…read morecheck out the Mill Town Players! I had been searching for something to do over the weekend, and came across info for the play. I thought I had found all the performing arts places in and around my area, but had never heard of this place, and sure enough, not even on Yelp yet. So I had to go check it out! The building is in the small city of Pelzer. It is an old but well kept Auditorium (don't you love plays preformed in buildings with history?) It had lots of free parking out front and was easy to get to. All the seats seemed great, but I did snag the front row for the same price as any other seat, which is awesome! I mean $10 to see a live production, that you can tell they really put their time, and poured their heart into - It was a great night. They have a good balcony area too if you prefer to see it from above. The crowd had a good energy, I knew I was in for a treat, especially when I walked in and saw the set. Everyone involved in getting that together needs a serious pat on the back. There were several very young actors in this particular play with very big parts, and honestly, since it is a community theater, I can't say I expected much. Boy, was I wrong! They did such an amazing job, real talent here! Everyone really blew me away, there were no weak links. A very amazing story, preformed here in the South (where the message still needs to get across sometimes). I'll be back to check out more plays here! Go check them out so they stick around too, we need art like this.

Performers and sets/music are great!…read more The chairs are hard because this place is old, so bring a cushion or something. Also if you're on the plus size side of things, you're gonna be in a lot of pain and have indentations on the sides of your thighs for weeks. But really, great show and great performers. Also, just so you're not caught unawares, there are no refunds and there's a no drink/beverage policy in the auditorium.

Tucked away off the campus of Clemson on a vast plot of land is the South Carolina Botanical…read moreGardens. Like some other college-affiliated gardens, this one is free of charge to all visitors. It's a bit tough to get your bearings at first since the property is really spread out, and requires quite a bit of driving to get from place to place, where first time visitors (like me) are sure to get lost along the way, even with a map of the property. I recommend starting your visit with the visitors center, carriage house, and geology museum, which are adjacent to the desert and Jurassic gardens. I tried to get intel on best places to see blooms at the visitors center, but staff weren't overly helpful in assisting where to explore, so I basically grabbed the map and drove off meandering around the back roads, winding up at the Hanover House (super friendly staff here) and the Caboose and President's gardens (some blooms in this area). Despite feeling a bit lost while exploring and encountering very few blooms, I did overall enjoy my visit to the South Carolina Botanical Gardens. I would rate it as a 3.5 out of 5 experience overall, as much of the land on property seemed not to serve much of a purpose, and you really have to spend time exploring (and getting lost) to find interesting blooms.
