Yesterday afternoon my family and I were traveling through sweet water on our way back home, from…read morevisiting family in Dallas. The car in front of us kicked up a black part of a work/construction cone and there was no way to straddle it, and the base of the cone hit and knocked the shield underneath the car and caused the shield to drag. We ended up driving up to the A-1 Auto Parts and mechanic shop around 1:15 and they looked at our car and took off the shield. It didn't take more than 20 minutes in total. Great business. We called AAA for a tow and they sent Mkm Wrecker. The tow truck arrived sooner than we expected. The driver quickly got the car ready for a tow and we were on our way to Abilene (~100 miles away). The driver was friendly throughout the 2 hour trip; we talked about the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup, cooking, renewable energy, and many other topics. When we arrived in Abilene he took us to our hotel to drop off our luggage, then we dropped off the car at a Firestone, and he took me back to the hotel. What great service! No other cars here. I parked on the 3rd spot. Getting about 288mi/hr or 80kW here. Since it is behind a hotel, there aren't any food spots. The bathroom is inside the hotel so you have to walk around, in the dark, to get inside. Definitely don't feel safe to charge here at night.
