The Electroacoustic Club is a concert series promoted at the Slaughtered Lamb in Clerkenwell. Neither an open mic night nor a strictly regular occurrence (nor, officially, either electro or acoustic) The Electroacoustic Club is more properly the name applied to a promoter's sensibilities. Thus, misleadingly, you are as likely to hear blue-eyed soul here as you are a girl with a guitar or a full-out rock assault, it just depends upon the lineup. The only unifying aspect is location and the focus on songcraft.
Cover at the Electroacoustic Club is £5-6, which is pretty reasonable considering you are seeing at least two bands a night. The PA is reasonable if not immaculate, but the best part is the acts. Club bookers bring a really varied slate to the Slaughtered Lamb, some local, some from further afield, affording a really nice cross-section of talents and sensibilities that you might not otherwise hear in London. read more
