I got there to find out that 20 years ago I tanned with them in West Bend so could not get the deal. Ok. so I purchase a monthly unlimited for full price and begin tanning right away. I paid to do the 12 minute beds and tanned the whole 12 minutes the first day with hopes to get a little color being that I hadn't tanned in over a month anywhere else. To my dismay there was nothing. So I continued to go daily for about a week and a half and saw no results. People who know me and know I was tanning said i didn't look like I was tanning at all. I had read the reviews prior to tanning there and knew from them reviews that it wasn't worth trying to negotiate with the salon so I cut my losses of approximately $120 and went down the road to Elegant Tan where I got color the very first day that I tanned. I will never ever go back, or refer anyone, to Tan R U.

They start you off at half time "per State regulations" which I find hard to believe as I have NEVER been told this at any other salon. From there, again "per state regulations" they only increase you 2 minutes per visit as that is all the bed allows so it takes you 5 visits to even get up to the max time-another waste of money. Went to Sun Tan City in Menomonee Falls, in their level 4 bed, for 1 time (12 minutes) and came out tanner than the equivalent of the 5 times I have been here. Will never head back when my sessions are over.

After reading the one review on Yelp which was the only review I decided to purchase the Groupon for the tanning salon. Only to find out how cheap the "salon" really was. The first two times I went to the tanning salon I was put in bed #9 which was decent but nothing like other beds I had been in(apparently the best bed they have). The last time I went I was put in bed #5 which was a joke. The bed looked about 10-15 years old. The face tanner was a 3 inch by 3 inch square with a dimly lit light behind the scratched piece of plastic which didn't even warm my face. The bed closed down to an inch above your face, so if you planned on turning to the side your hips would hit the cover (I am not the smallest person but I am not over weight). Then the radio was a car radio insert for the bed which didn't work properly and every beat to every song was vibrated through the bed. Extremely annoying and not in any way relaxing. When I asked to speak with the manager/owner or have his contact information, the receptionist refused to provide me with it. I mentioned to her that I would be writing this review and she "whatever" in a sassy tone. Now I am stuck with this crappy Groupon and I really do not want to step foot into that "salon" ever again!!!

When I first went there, to redeem my Groupon, I got to pick out a bottle of tanning lotion, and the employee told me that the Groupon users get to use their "Plus" beds. They have a 12-minute Stand Up bed and two 15-minute Lay Down beds available. I used the Stand Up. I've been back several times. I've never had to make an appointment. There have always been beds available. If the Stand Up is being used, then I'll use the Lay Down. The staff is very friendly. My only complaint is that the staff seems to be lacking in numbers. FOUR TIMES, in the last month, I've driven there to tan, and they have been unexpectedly closed. They usually put a note on the door that says when they will be open. Today, the note said, "We will be closed until 3:30pm". This was at 1:00pm. This tells me, they must be quite understaffed, if they can't get anyone to cover the tanning salon for a couple hours and must close. It's very inconvenient to the customer! They also have very limited hours. 11am-9pm, Monday-Thursday, 11am-8pm Fridays, and 10am-4pm Saturdays and Sundays. I like the tanning service they provide.. when they're actually open and I get to use the beds.

We get there and the place is almost empty. There was someone on the nails side getting a manicure or something, and then a few friendly staff members. So really socially distant! The little one kept her mask on the whole time, which I guess wasn't too hard with her long hair, but still it made me much more at ease with the whole thing. I appreciate their concern for their customers! The haircut wasn't super complicated, but I think they did a great job. Plus it was at a good price. I think we'll be back, even after the pandemic.

The girls are always smiling, friendly as can be, and willing to explain all about the services and packages offered. Second, their prices are pretty reasonable. I bought a, one-year, unlimited tanning package for $200. Most tanning salons charge around $50 per month for unlimited tanning. So I'm happy with the deal I got from Sun Tan City. Third, the salon is always very clean, and they don't require reservations. I hate having to make an appointment to go tanning. Here, I get to walk in and tan whenever I want. Fourth, they give you plenty of time to get undressed before tanning. The staff starts the tanning bed for you, and you have 5 minutes before the bulbs come on. There's a timer on the bed that counts down. If you're ready to start before the timer runs out, there's a blue start button you can press, and the bulbs will turn on. How convenient! Fifth, there's a phone in the room. If you've ever been in a situation where the tanning bed didn't turn on, for whatever reason, you can definitely appreciate having a courtesy phone in the room. Simply pick up the phone, and the girls at the front desk will answer and help you. Finally, they pump music in to each room. Don't like the music? Turn it off. You have all the controls within arm's reach. You can control the fan or music volume, very easily, from the tanning bed. Just another little thing that Sun Tan City does that not all tanning salons do.
