Here is what happened: On the night of December 5th, after working past 11 PM, we returned to our room expecting to rest. Instead, we found fleas in the bed. Both my husband and I were bitten multiple times, with his reaction causing significant swelling. We had our one-year-old daughter with us, and the panic of protecting her was overwhelming. The hotel's response was utterly inadequate. At that late hour, only one front desk agent was present. While polite, she could offer no solution. We were left with no choice but to gather our sleeping infant and belongings to desperately search for another hotel in the middle of the night. To make matters worse, we have received zero follow-up or apology from management after formally reporting the issue. Because of the uninhabitable and unhygienic conditions, we could not continue our stay. Our family weekend was destroyed, replaced by stress, sleeplessness, and unexpected expenses for last-minute lodging. This was not a minor inconvenience. It was a fundamental breach of trust and safety. We have documented everything. I urge management to address this serious hygiene issue and implore other travelers, especially families with young children, to be cautious.

I really like that they had vanilla candles burning in the lobby, front desk area, and the entryway. That added touch gave the property a sense of elegance and charm! However, they only had one customer service agent in the late evening (around 9pm) at the front desk which made it take a little longer than expected to check in. Once I checked in, the room was spacious, well appointed, really nice and really clean. Overall the property was well maintained inside. Parking was a premium with self service at around $35 and valet $49 per night. I was satisfied with my stay, but I'd probably look for another property to stay at when in Houston again. There seem to be over 75 really nice hotels to stay at while in Houston. I'd like to explore another one during my next visit.

There's no robe, room clock or microwave. No balcony either. It would have been nice if there was a wet bar sink and microwave but it's only got a Keurig type coffee maker and a mini fridge below. Nothing in the refrigerator to purchase. They have valet for $45 a night plus tip but I prefer to park myself and it's $35 a night. One other lady I spoke to said she valeted the first night but it took way too long to retrieve her car and she needed to get something from her car and they brought her car around instead of letting her go to her car as she wasn't leaving. The pool is nice but small. Towels were all dirty and no fresh ones to use. I was at the pool for at least 2 hours and fresh towels weren't brought out. The ice maker on my floor was broken, so it went to a different floor to get some. Check in was good. The clerk told me about the up-charge to pay for parking and tax. So the price quoted was base and not the real price. There's no breakfast included, as that's extra. The room is clean and it's nice there's things divided up so if you're traveling with other guests, they've designed it to be like a small one bedroom. The hotel is right off the access road but surprisingly quiet. No traffic sounds or people in the hall or any of the rooms. Overall it's alright but there are areas of improvement needed. The little things can make a good experience into a great experience. Depends on what you're looking for but it felt like a mid level hotel with high level prices.

Roaches in the Room - No Accountability from Staff or Management…read more I checked into the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Houston North - IAH Area on June 2, 2025 around 11pm. The room had a damp, moldly smell, however, many Houston hotels developed mold issues after the hurricane and never addressed them, so I tried to ignore the scent. However, at 5 AM the next morning, I woke up to roaches crawling on my personal items, on my leftover food, on the hotel furniture. Everywhere. I was completely horrified. I shook out my clothes and immediately packed up my things and went to the front desk to report the issue. I spoke with a staff member named Ricardo, who seemed completely unbothered and not the least bit surprised. When I told him there were roaches in the room, his only response was "oh." I asked him if he knew this, he said we don't have anything noted for "that room". Huh?!?!? So you clearly KNOW there is a roach problem in here! And roaches don't discriminate by room number. If you have them, you have them everywhere! I asked about the refund process and explained I was leaving due to the clear sanitation issue. He told me the manager, Maria, would be in at 7 AM and would call me. I asked for her card as well as for the district or regional managers information. He gave me a card, the name Tanya, and said he could provide nothing else. Maria never called. I tried reaching her by phone on both June 3rd and 4th and was denied the opportunity to speak to her each time. No apology, no refund, and no follow-up. The complete lack of accountability from both staff and management was unacceptable. I paid for a clean and safe place to sleep and instead had to deal with a health hazard and indifference. I would strongly caution anyone considering a stay here, if something goes wrong, don't expect support or resolution.

Our Family Was Displaced for FIFA -- Even with a Signed Agreement…read more We planned our 2026 Family Reunion at this hotel. Signed the contract. Received the booking link. Shared it with our entire family. We were in the middle of collecting payments when we received a call saying everything was canceled because FIFA is coming to Houston. Our dates have been set for four years. The hotel knew that. We already printed, posted, and shared the lodging information. To be told "Your block is canceled, you should consider changing your event dates or moving to Clear Lake" was shocking. Changing the dates would disrupt hundreds of people. Moving the hotel 30+ minutes away makes no sense for our elders or our family events, all located in Houston's Historic Third Ward. Hilton chose profit over people, plain and simple. But most importantly--they treated a signed agreement like it meant nothing. This was unprofessional, dismissive, and a huge disruption to our planning. Future guests should be aware.

I am a Diamond with Hilton, and had I known that their parking lot was equipped with these privately held FLOCK systems, I would NOT have stayed. One has to question the reason for FLOCK - is it a bad neighborhood they need to deter and record? (then I would not want my family there) - is it to store our car information, time in and out, and then sell it to others? ( then I would not want to be a part of that) - How long do they keep the videos? Is the videos kept by FLOCK (to combine with the other FLOCK cameras to know where I travel and when, to sell to anyone? Why does a small hotel need to have FLOCK? I am uncomfortable with the security, who has access, how long they keep video and information? Is it held indefinitely by FLOCK? Who does the hotel give that information access to? No, FLOCK is not a deterrent when someone can walk in from another parking lot or use a stolen license plate - There is no opt out for the hotel, no access or reporting by the hotel, and there is no way to know how long they keep our information on file, and who they sell it to. Since there are countless cases of misuse of infromation by others accessing FLOCK - and bad actors hacking into systems, this is another layer of having our information stolen, sold, used, and abused - and will always leave a 1 star for any private owners - Hotel was within standards and we seek out Hilton - but not with FLOCK systems.

They even opened up their breakfast early for us to accommodate the crazy early competition schedule. The rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. A mishap occurred during our stay where there was water pipe leak. The team did their best to work around the situation. It was not the hotel's fault and I felt sorry the staff had to deal with so much disgruntled guests who were not as understanding of the situation. I commend them for quickly turning the situation around to trying to make our stay pleasant. I could visibly see that they were all exhausted but did their best to resolve the situation. They even comped us for the inconvenience afterwards and was contacted directly by their Director of Sales. That's great business ethics and what more can we ask for. We highly recommend The Home2 Suites By Hilton - Houston Energy Corridor, TX. We've stayed in other hotels in Houston in the past during our robotics competitions, and this hotel is the most accommodating, with friendly staff and comfortable, affordable, and spacious rooms. Most Marriott hotels have a list of complimentary items that can provide you during your stay. The front desk manager gave me a shower cap and lotion that were missing from my room. Breakfast is included with your stay. Also, this hotel has free parking and Wi-Fi. I left at 4 am this morning so a hot breakfast was not available.
