Confession: I've never been to a glassblowing session. I am one of those weirdos that likes to watch all kinds of crazy YouTube videos featuring various arts and crafts. Glassblowing has always held a special fascination for me. When our family mentioned that we were going to make ornaments with the kids, I guess I was not sure what to expect. When we arrived at a genuine glass works, I admit - I got a little excited. I also got a little worried. Molten glass is obviously something that must be handled with care. Lots of opportunity for small people to get injured accidentally. I have never been happier to eat my words (and my concerns). Elements Glass had a very organized setup that let adults or children choose the type of ornament they wanted to make. From there, we were partnered with an individual artist who guided my niece and nephew through the creation of their own ornament. She was so gentle and patient with the kids. It made the entire morning very fun and exciting. We can't wait to go back and pick up the completed pieces (the glass orbs have to anneal). Art glass well, my friends! read more

So we watched the new and wesleigh voklel was at Elements Glass and was doing Christmas ornaments. I surprised Cara with a trip to the shop and we made out own ornament for the 2018 season. We made a memory! This was a fantastic experience and they are very educational and take their time and instruct you at the same time. Our guy was Brian and he was fantastic. he let me roll the glass and take the glass out of the hot furnace (they call it some kind of technical name but I forgot the name) and walk it over roll it in the color and reheat then blow it into a beautiful glass ornament. This would be a great team building event for companies or just a trip down to have a date like we did for the holidays. They are real busy during the holidays and you make a reservation but they let you take all the time in the world to do you piece and are very informational and move slow with us not professional glass arteeeeests. read more

We bought a GROUPON back in Nov/Dec and were finally able to use it this weekend!! That was a nice way to keep the cost down. We showed up a bit early like they asked and were the first ones to get to go! It happened that it was day light savings time so I'm guessing some people mgiht have forgotten that fact. It was nice that my husband and I were put in the same group but we went one at a time, so we were able to get ample pictures. It was just hands on enoguh that you felt like you were doing something cool but also very safe! We already have plans to go back to make an Easter Egg! It may be a bit pricey for some but for us it is the experience that is worth the cost!! We will be customers of this place for a long time to come! read more

I have not been to Elements Glass yet but I have been trying to contact them for multiple weeks with no one ever returning my emails or calls. I understand why they can't return my phone calls because the number listed on their site 9x out of 10 will just ring and go straight to a fax machine. I was able to get to a voicemail, however, when I tried to leave a voicemail their inbox is full so you can't. All I simply want to do is schedule a group class session while we have a business meeting in Portland in May. Seems like this place just doesn't want any business because they don't answer their phones or get back to you within the 1 business day time frame they state on their website and their Facebook page. I would still consider using this place if they called me back, but again it just seems they don't want any business. Unfortunately I am in California and cannot run by their business to speak with them directly, otherwise I would. Last time i'll say this, I don't think they really care about new business at all. No follow through on what their websites state they will do after you reach out to them. I get it we all have kids at home but the world keeps moving and other businesses keep moving even while their employees have kids and lives of their own. Can someone please call me back? Oh wait, you can't unless you check your online 'Contact Us' email account which then you will see my contact information because your phone numbers DON'T work. Saddened as I am an Oregonian and a Portlandian myself, would have expected better service from other fellow Oregonians. So bummed. read more

I popped over here for first thursday, best event I have been to in a long time! Free local beer and wine, fancy cheese and fruit platters (not the skimpy costco kind), awesome art on display, and demonstrations. I was afraid to gesticulate and completely overstimulated, in a good way :) Oh and I do believe they do classes here for any of you pyro glass blowing fans. read more

Dear Elements Glass, I just wanted to send you a quick "Thank You". Friday, April 8th, my friend and I enjoyed our first experience at Elements. We were there for the "Glass Float" blowing class/workshop. It was a great experience and we had such a good time. Your facility is so nice and the whole atmosphere in there was so relaxed and mellow, which was very nice since we had no idea what we were in store for. What a great place to get to go and get a taste of the art of hot glass. Thank you for offering these opportunities. I look forward to doing it again some time. A special "Thanks" to Aaron... You are so cool, Aaron! It was a real pleasure to meet you. Your personality and sense of humor made a somewhat potentially nervous/awkward situation very comfortable. It can be a little uncomfortable or intimidating being around and "doing" something like you guys do all the time, when you have zero skills and don't have a clue what you are doing yourself. :) I can imagine that blowing floats no longer gives you the same "thrill" that it did for me, but your obvious passion, knowledge and skill were very much appreciated and admired. I've taken over 6 years of classes at Elements and other studios and the whole Elements experience is by far the best. The instructors are inspiring, thoughtful, welcoming and experts in the their craft. The owners constantly improve the equipment and continue to educate themselves as well. They recently hosted the Glass Art Society show and did a great job. If you wan to meet some great people while making art in a fun environment this is the place. Cheers! read more

This is a very fun and interactive experience. This would be a 5 star review if they would invest a small amount of time and effort to the customer service/front office person. I tried calling 4 times and leaving messages to schedule doing the Christmas ornament. Also emailed 3 times. Finally someone called me back that was at home with what sounded like a kid in his lap talking the entire time. So monotone and unprofessional. If it wasn't for the amount of times I've seen them on the news etc. I would've thought it was a scam. They also didn't bother to mention until the day of that you don't get to take the ornament with you, you pick it up next day. Fortunately that wasn't an issue for me but would be if you were from out of town or a ways away. When you pick up the ornaments they are all on a table right when you walk in the door, again with nobody up there. I could've brought a bag and filled it if I wanted. Fortunately I'm not a thief but that would really suck after making a memory. Also when I came in there was a dog wandering around with no one around, and took a shit on the floor right next to me!?! Unacceptable! read more
