Ceramic wall clocks, some shaped like the beloved VW van, handmade jewelry, watercolors, oils, postcards, canvas, framed prints, textiles - basically something for everyone, including prices. Guardino is lovingly curated, with a flair for dramatic and whimsical pieces that are absolutely delightful. Some of my favorite artists have shown their work here, like Stephanie Brockway, Tamae Frame, and Jay Perry. The front portion of the gallery is dedicated to the one or two artists being featured that month, while the remaining portion of the gallery on the west side and rear house pieces by a collective of what I assume are local artists. You'll find handmade jewelry, small artifacts and gift items, as well as large statement pieces like sculptures and totems. I could spend hours taking in the sights, dreaming, and falling in love with the art found here. Guardino is a special place.

Of course, on any given visit, there would be different local artist's works exhibited, and there's no guarantee that some or any works would appeal to me (or to anyone, on any given day. Art is so subjective, and the featured artists here change regularly). I was just lucky that I loved so many pieces of art when I visited. There are many things I loved about this gallery: they showcase a wide range of artistic works, from photographs to paintings to sculptures to glassworks to artisan hand-made jewelry and more. All the artists are local. All the art pieces are for sale. There is a huge range of prices for the works, so there really is something for any budget. (Note: when I was there, there were postcards and small prints with the featured photographer's works on them, and these were super reasonably priced). And best of all, you can often chat with the artists who are there! I loved the fact that the featured jewelry maker was there, and she talked about her inspirations and her artistic process. It was fascinating (and she was super talented - and nice to boot!). I love supporting local businesses and local artisans and artists, and this gallery checks all the boxes.

They have 2 walls that are 5 shelves high with glass jars full of all the dried plants listing descriptions for each one so you can decide what you need. I've been with this shop since 2008. This shop helped me get rid of horrible, itchy acne I had for 2 years that not even the dermatologists at OHSU could remedy (sure, I had to drink a special tea 3x a day, take herbal capsules 2x a day and steam a few times a week - cleared up in 2 months!). Whether you're a novice or make your own plant medicine, this is the place to go. I will note that sometimes there can be very inexperienced herbalists working on their own who won't be able to answer questions or help you find a solution. Do a little research and follow your gut.
