I love supporting local and wanted to take my teen for a pottery painting experience. The mugs we wanted were all dirty, but we were assured the markings would burn off. At $40 it's a pricey mug! I understand it's not just the mug, but the paint, rent, kiln, staff expenses. But it meant we'd only be painting one item at that price. So we chatted happily while my teen painted the mug and I asked to color in a tiny heart on the side to fulfill my art craving. That tiny heart, using no additional supplies or brushes, cost me an additional $10. We used 2 colors, 2 brushes and required no guidance, but the final cost of the one mug, plus 2 studio fees (because I painted a tiny heart), without drinks, landed up being over $65! That's a little OTT, but it was a great memory with my teen. I hope the dirt on the mug actually does burn off- because at $65, I'd hope to have an unblemished lifelong memento. read more

My family celebrated a 50th birthday with a group of 10 mildly artistic folks. We were confused by the website, so we did not have a reservation, nor did we book a party, but they were able to accommodate us. An overall update designed to be user friendly should be considered. We had decided on painting pottery. There is a huge collection of paintable objects to choose from. As the pictures show, there is a wild array available. My 2-year old granddaughter chose a kitty, which this unbiased grandma feels is clearly the best of our group! The dark horse, my FIL, chose a flamingo. It took him maybe 30-seconds, but you see the pic and can be awed by how great it came out! It was a bit crowded in the small space, so if you're a germ-a-phobe, you might wear a mask or skip it. Sadly, we found the staff to be stiff and unfriendly. I inadvertently broke a paint pen. I was very apologetic and contrite when I alerted a staffer who was clearly very irritated at my guffaw. I offered to pay for it, but they grabbed it from my hand and stormed off. When I asked for assistance with my item, again I was shit-down and told that this was an independent activity with no help available. It's also quite spendy. There is a small area when you can purchase snacks, drinks and even wine. I was very impressed with the turn around time. Our entire order was completed in about five days and it was packed and ready to go! Regardless of the staff, I'd still go back and think this is an enjoyable activity for the whole fam read more

I took my six year old in and we had a wonderful tour of the products and explanation of stations quite thoroughly. She picked a small statue about 4 inches high for about 30.00, plus the user fee which was 10.00 a piece even though I was not painting my own piece just helping(or the piece would have been pale white/my little also has a learning disability). Warning - moolah needed. This place is really cool, very organized and the staff are very helpful. It's pricey tho, ohhhhh it's pricey-- much more than I recall these places ever being. But I suppose that's just about right, everything else in the world has gone up in price (thank heavens air is still free!). My teenager and I did a mom-daughter date here. It was loud because it was a Saturday and some crazy person decided to host their 1st graders birthday party at the same time we strolled in, but once the gang of chatty Cathy's left, we could once again converse amongst ourselves without yelling or using ghetto sign language. I chose a ceramic lidded trinket box and she chose a ceramic sea star. The paint section was nice and neat, we didn't have any trouble finding the colors and brushes we wanted. We took our time and altogether, spent about 2 hours on our projects. In the end, we paid 100 bucks plus tip, and were noticed by email about a week later, when our pieces were ready for pick up. There were other things you could do such as glass blowing, glass art, pallet painting, and a painting class if you sign up ahead of time. There are a few snacks and drinks up front at the register which is nice. And I appreciate that the staff are lively and check in with you regularly while you are there. Our first venture to Live, Laugh, Love Art was actually quite pleasant. We arrived for a paint class, of which we had the wrong day, so they helped us with some fun projects available for walk-in customers. We had a nice time and rescheduled our paint class. That is, unfortunately, where our good experience ended. When we arrived for our rescheduled paint class, I brought my mom and twin six year old girls. I was told shortly after arriving that only one adult was able to be with the girls. While I was a bit miffed, it wasn't that big a deal and I can understand not wanting to overcrowd a room for paint projects with kids. I decided to wait in the car and let my mom stay with her granddaughters. Not long after I left, my mom came out of the shop. They had asked her to leave as well. Come to find out (as it's not made clear to parents at any point prior to purchase), that unless you as a parent ALSO pay to take part in the class, you are not welcome to stay. Like, at all. They wouldn't even let my mom shop their store while my girls had the paint class. She was asked to leave. As a recap, people that I don't know are asking me to leave my children all by themselves without me being able to stay just to keep and eye and make sure they're comfortable. Are they background checked? Are they legally licensed like a daycare, certifying that my children are in a safe environment? No idea. They disclosed nothing. Needless to say, I didn't feel like that was safe for my children. Add to that, during our original visit, we were told that one adult or guardian was permitted to stay with a child. Admittedly, I was mad and didn't react the best. I was elevated. I returned inside to pull my kids out. They refused to not only acknowledge my unease but they offered no solution, no explanation (outside of it being their policy), and nothing to reassure my concerns or offer any kind of customer service to rectify any misunderstanding. I was asked to leave, bluntly. I'm just in shock. Aside from informing whomever cares to read this, I will also be reporting Live, Laugh, Love Art to the Better Business Bureau. If you choose to do business with them, just a word of advice to make sure you're clear on their policy beforehand as they have no interest in accommodating or offering any kind of customer service. read more

I visited this lovely shop around Valentines Day for a first date. There are many different wonderful mediums to work with and options to explore, which is fantastic! Lots of cute ceramics to choose from for painting/glazing, glasswork, paint pouring canvases & colors. Delightful. As it was my first time, I had no idea what I was walking into. The staff was somewhat helpful, but I had to chase someone down to get my questions answered after perusing the options for about ten minutes. Alas, I would be remiss, as an artist, to not mention that the cost of the pieces are a bit over-the-top. I understand for most, this is a premium worth paying for, as the mess and cleanup can all be handled by the LLLA staff. But for the price of one piece and the supplies, you could have your family of 3-4 create at home. This place is awesome!! I had bought a Groupon for my friend and her kids for Christmas so we could all go paint some pottery together. I didn't realize they do so much more! In addition to the pottery you can do glass art or canvas painting. They do guided painting parties, or they even have step by step instructions printed so you can paint on your own. The staff was all SOOO friendly and helpful. They were just great. They also serve alcohol, which makes it that much more fun. They have some food choices as well, although we didn't eat anything. It's a little spendy, but they will honor Groupon's pricing, even if you don't have one. Also, I believe they have some membership options which would make it more affordable if you like to do these kinds of art. They are very kid-friendly and are even offering drop off kids painting parties over spring break. We will definitely be back! read more

The staff may mean well, but while we were the only costumers (meaning all the other tables were free), three of them were carrying on very loud, personal conversations next to where we were painting. They rattled off the info and prices very fast, even after we asked them to slow down so we could hear them better. Disappointed that once glass was melted that the colors were not as expected (orange and yellow were both same color of yellow) and project had a chip in it when completed probably from firing process. Would suggest business have a sample of 'fired' glass for each glass type as when I researched glass firing, orange was orange, and on their website it shows that as well. The owner made my niece cry. We picked up the bowl the day after we made it walked it to the car and when we checked inside the bag where the bowl was wrapped, it was cracked. We took it back in and the owner pretty much blamed us. All we did is walk to the car drove out of the parking lot and decided to look at it again, my niece blamed her self and she did nothing wrong. We stood there for 20 minutes waiting for some response. He finally said they would make one for us, and when he did, you can see the result between the two he threw it together and it was made terribly. I completely agree with Leslie's review. I purchased Pour Painting classes for three young (12 & under) children that were not my own. I found the policy irresponsible and their handling to disallow an adult or adults to be available to their children during a one hour class. There was ample room in their facility behind the student's stool or at a distance in the studio for our vested interest supervision without class disruption. It was a lovely class, the results were amazing, but I will never go back. Perhaps a better solution would be to ask the ages of the children under 18 and explain the policy before parents or entrusted guardians purchase the class that is not refundable. I am fairly sure I would not have purchased the class or made arrangements to buy an adult admission. Once I realized the policy by asking questions, the class was full. The purpose of not buying the adult admission was not avoiding the class cost but to be free to supervise responsibly and manage any misbehavior.... including leaving the class with one and allowing the other two to finish. Not likely with these perfect little darlings, but reasonably a possibility with most children. Great opportunity for kids... Just missing the mark. Amazing opportunity for adults. read more

Really bad customer service experience. First I have to say that most of the people working there are amazing. Their directions are clear and you can tell there is a passion for people and the art they are helping those people create. Employees get a 5 star. As a business it falls short. The employees are bound by the sheer number of people in their class. My class had about 20 people. Once we got the instructions we did not see the instructor again, understandably as they had 20 people to help. One of the "managers" came over to correct and humiliate the instructor and customers a few times during our time. It was hard to look past. Angel continued on with the class like a PRO! After the "manager" corrected and humiliated the parents in the group regarding their children she went on to go back to the bar and ignore us completely when we tried to order something. Angel's positivity kept us going but we were glad to leave when our project ended and felt bad for the other customer's and employees who bore the brunt of demeaning comments.from this "manager" I would never recommend a friend go their, especially if they have children, just in case they are subjected to this human. read more
