I'm a big fan of Elements. I recently moved up here from Los Angeles and struggled to find a good hair salon and stylist. I feel lucky to have found Elements... stylist Jennifer has been doing my hair over a year now and she is the best. The salon is very accommodating too. My regular stylist was booked so I thought I'd give it a try. I tried because the ad said you get a head and shoulders rub with hair cut or color. I thought, yes! Salons use to do that as usual practice! But never got one! False advertisement to start.. I was a stylist and trained to do that decades ago. I don't want to mention names because this girl seemed new and a little nervous. I gave her a picture of my last haircut and color so reasonable request I thought. Did not use cardboard to get close to roots so grow out was too fast. Too bad because excellent colorist! Cut was ok, not like picture ( too long, not choppy like requested) and my bangs I said, " I don't have anyone touch them but me" and she forgot and they were uneven, not a biggie happens way to often anyway.. atleast she did not thin them!! Bravo to that.. I remember when I started its not fun. I will say she was good not a seasoned stylist she is going to be fabulous real fast! She did not cut my hair too short and not sure how to chop fine hair but she kept trying! A for effort without making amess of my hair. It did look beautiful. Not an easy, my request..so I would say she did great! I asked her how long she had been working there, she said, " six months. " The male owner in there does not put toilet seat down ( please mostly ladies are here!) and bathroom was well, needs sprucy! Rest of place seemed okay, nothing stands out in decor.. maybe a long day for both owner and the stylist. I was last client.. not going back, does not mean trying it would be a bad thing. Elements is a fun and professional Salon. People are very helpful and nice. Michelle is a doll and you couldn't find a nicer person she cuts and styles all 3 of my daughters hair, we are always to pleased with the perfect cut and the girls always walk away feeling beautiful!! I came here last saturday to see about booking an appointment for a bridal up-do and make up. It was recommended by a friend, but the girl, Jen, that she raved about, is out of town for a few weeks. My venue is close by and I thought it would be more convenient. They had room, but it was quite a sketchy conversation. Her name was Stacy. She didn't smile, and she didn't have a very personable attitude. I am a very nice person and she didn't seem too eager to help me. Gabe on the other hand was able to swing by to fill in answers for her. When I asked about make up, Stacy said Jen was the one that did make up...so I wasn't sure what to think. I booked my consultation and went outside. My friend stayed in to make her appointment for whatever she wanted, and then came out to tell me that Stacy would do my make up for me and that Jen would color match it at my consultation since she would be back by then. I called back to make my appointment for my wedding day. Another lady I spoke to on the phone was difficult to talk to. She was very nice but she didn't seem to understand a darn thing I said. I had to explain myself 3 times before she finally got that i was calling about making the final appointment for my big day like I was told I needed to do. She saw that I was booked for a consultation with her, but she said that Stacy didn't seem to have room for me for my make up on my big day unless she was willing to come in early. I expected a call back today directly from Stacy to discuss what was going on. I had left the previous saturday feeling uncomfortable and overwhelmed, so after this morning charade of confusion and lack of confidence that followed, I called my regular salon. Not only did they slot me in, but they explained the process, and did it in less than 20 minutes over the phone. The consultation included a full up-do and make up trial, so I could go in a few days prior to try out different styles. I was also told that they wouldn't mind coming in early for me at no extra charge if I need it. Elements Hair Salon told me that I would have a partial up-do and that they would just color match my skin and do my make up the morning of my wedding...time was a problem too, so I didn't feel too good about not knowing what I was getting. I didn't like that I didn't get the answers to my questions and when i did they weren't very straightforward. Go with your guts...if it's your big day, go where you are comfortable, even if you have to drive an hour out of your way to get there like I have to. I plan on going back to meet Jen for an eyebrow wax...I've heard great things about her! read more

Elements is a great salon. I have been styled by Gabe for too many years to count. He never disappoints, ESP when I want a new updated look. I have been going here since I was in 7th grade. As a graduated high school student, I plan on always coming back to have Jen always gets me what I am envisioning with my hair. If you want a welcoming environment with people you can talk to, check elements out. Jen has always been my main stylist, but one time I had some coloring done with Michelle. Elements Hair Salon provided on site hair and make up services for my wedding recently. Initially, I was unsure due to a snafu about the "trial run" but was quite pleased by how it was handled by the staff. They did an AMAZING job on my hair for my big day and my make up was perfect, exactly what I had asked for which usually is a struggle. All the bridesmaids also had their hair and make up done beautifully as well. I also liked that they used Aveda make up products. In all, I would use their services again. Debbie, the aesthetician, is wonderful. Followed her here from Sacramento. She did the diamond tip microdermabrasion on me before but suggested that I should try doing the crystal microdermabrasion instead as she thinks it will works better for my skin. Took her advice and followed her to this salon to do the crystal microdermabrasion. Wow! What a great suggestion. I have better results with the crystal than the diamond. Thanks Debbie! I received terrible service and an even WORSE hair cut. I had to go to another salon 4 days later to get it fixed!

I have really one word to describe this salon (and specifically the owner) and that is "trust". I can sit in the chair and trust that Gabe will do the right thing. I always walk out of the salon with no regrets. I have also trusted the salon with complete hair and makeup for two of my niece's wedding parties. I love Gabe and the girls here at Elements! I've been coming to Gabe for over a year now and when I first came in my hair was fried and super short. He has transformed my hair into a nice healthy thing of beauty! He is a lovely man, and I would not trust anyone else with my hair. My kids come in to get cuts also. Came here for my wedding. I was from out of town, and had not prior trial run with the ladies in this salon. Jen did my hair AMAZING - JUST what I wanted and so quickly, too! Everyone left here looking amazing for the big day, and if I come through town again I would for sure come here. Wow what an experience. In an on going hunt to find a nice upper end salon I decided to give this place a try based on the reviews. I'm new to the area and the one splurge I allow myself is at the salon. I would rather spend 200 on a cut and color and enjoy a nice experience at a salon instead of supercuts. Ie proper consult with a new stylist, a little explanation about the salon and how they work, current magazines and if you offer me a glass of wine or coffee while my hair is processing we'll be friends forever. That's a high end experience in my book. I've had better experiences at super cuts. Hell I'd rather have all my teeth pulled without anaesthesia then go to this place again. I called in the morning and scheduled an appt with Heather for later in the day. I should've known when I got there things would not go well and just left. I walked in and only saw one person and one client so I stood there and waited for someone to come out and help or at least acknowledge me. In fact the stylist seemed to be going out of her way to not turn around -- I know how it is when you're super busy and focused so I just sat down and looked at magazines for the next 10 minutes (until my appt at 1:30). I cleared my throat loudly and she finally 'noticed" me. She came over introduced herself, said she was running behind and would be with me in a couple minutes. I was fine with that I even felt a little bad that she was trying to help clients, answer phones all by herself. I said it was fine I'd just check out some mags. I wish she had just apologized and told me to come back in an hour or reschedule. Instead she brought me back and did a complete joke of a consult no questions, no recommendations nothing that came close to a professional consult. I should know that a stylist that comes to work without bothering to do her own hair (hair pulled up in a sloppy bun / pony tail messy bangs) isn't very concerned about re presenting herself in a professional manner. Meanwhile her other client is still not done. No big deal I assumed she'd be able to finish both. Other stylists I've had in the past had assistants to shampoo and style the hair I guess is why it wasn't a problem. She mixed up some color and literally slopped it on my head she was in such a hurry (I was only having my roots done) and without another word to me she went back to her other client. I waited and waited and waited with dye dripping she came over after 20 minutes and wiped some dye off my face (still trying to get that out). She never checked the color told me how much longer nothing. Finally after an hour of sitting there ( they don't have anything to drink for their clients when I asked she said they don't but she might be able to find a bottle of water) i finally asked after an hour of sitting there with dye on my hair if leaving it on so long was damaging it. She responded no it stops processing after 20 minutes. Ill rinse you once I'm done with her. At this point we're over an hour into my appt and your last client is still getting her hair washed. Wtf?!?!? After another 15minutes and her other clients hair was only halfway done I finally said forget this I want to just get out of here and was ready to rinse the stupid dye out myself. Jen another stylist was very very nice apologized for my experience and rinsed my hair for me immediately while Heather proceeded to make faces and comments to her client. By the time I left I was In Tears. I've never had such a bad experience or been treated like that. I have to give Jen some credit for making it clear that this is not the usual experience and I'm confident that this salon does not typically treat their clients like that but never the less, this was my experience read more
