A kind and personable stylist with understated confidence and complete know-how (decades of exp) took me with an hours notice-- filling a cancellation (I guess some good luck there) to fix my hair- I have thick, wavy/ curly hair (currently waging war with hormones) but ona good day is too difficult for even high priced salons to get right- took him but a moment to look at me, and know what needed to be done- with a few gentle snips he transformed a heavy awkward pile of hair (resembling a 80s news anchor) into a cute- maybe even mildly sexy (with make up on) short pixi-ish shag- that made the best of my waves- framing my heavy hormone face into someone I recognize again- just shy of my 46th birthday. at $45 a haircut in this day where high prices are often commanded amidst far less talent to support-Gabe and his salon- Elements- is a rarity- and I would venture to call it: Placerville's Best Salon I will be back- you can count on that- Thank You Gabe read more

I've been going to Gabe at Elements Hair Salon for over 20 years. He does absolute amazing blonde! I love this salon so much. Easy relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff. Throughout the years I have had times where I have had to get my hair done elsewhere and one thing with Gabe is he can do my blonde, and my long hair never turns out dry or damaged feeling....I honestly don't know how he does it. I always leave the salon feeling beautiful and super blonde just like I love. My hair is healthy which is difficult to maintain being heavily highlighted every six weeks and this is all thanks to Gabe's skill and knowledge. Gabe takes really great care of me.... however I would feel comfortable seeing anyone in his salon. They are all very educated and knowledgeable. We moved back to town from Washington about 2 1/2 years ago. I had a very difficult time finding a salon that I liked. That is...until I came across this really nice salon. I had a haircut with Gabe and I was so impressed with the entire experience. The salon itself is very comfortable, clean and has a great vibe. They play really great music, sort of a like coffee house mix. The salon is always spotless. Gabe is an amazingly talented hair specialist. After my first appointment, I started bringing my husband and children. This is now "our place" and we will continue to see Gabe forever. I do not know the other stylists but if Gabe likes their work, I would bet they are really good at what they do. One of the best things about this salon is that it is not expensive to get a wash, cut and style. I want to say that he charges around $35!!!! I just went today 5/16/2019 for a cut, style & color. It was my first time visiting Elements Salon. I had the BEST STYLIST Michelle!! She was so easy to talk to & was very open to looking at pictures, that I brought in. Michelle was just awesome & did the cut, style & colors I wanted. I chose a very edgy cut w/ chunks of blonde & some strands of darker shades. After she rinsed my hair, I could already see all the beautiful colors shining through! Before drying!! My daughter came w/ me, & told me, I looked like a different person for the better, bc my hair was a complete mess be4 & I agreed! Michelle has been doing this for 30 yrs! I wish I could give zero stars. I thought I did my research into the salon. It is telling there is no social media. I showed your stylist the picture I was trying to match and the the amount of hair I wanted removed. I asked for 3 and she took 6 inches off. I asked no matter what not to have straw yellow and orange hair and that's what I got with a ton of breakage. She used a curling iron on my wet hair. I looked it up and I guess that's bad, too. I paid 125 bucks to walk away from your salon after 2 years of growth looking like a scarecrow. I couldn't figure out why my scalp burned for 12 hours after I left. She didn't wash out the dye all the way. I am in a wedding in 2 months and now I have to pay another salon 230 bucks for a correction and who knows what else if more of my hair falls off. Karri, it takes a lot to let someone walk out looking like that. I made sure to think and wait to make sure I was not overreacting because reviews matter to people like me. I have cried more today than I care to admit and I have no idea what I will have to pay for my hair to look semi decent for the wedding. read more

Jen from Elements hair salon was great to work with for my wedding hair and makeup. She put braids in my hair and all of by bridesmaid and they looked great. I loved my makeup - Natural but something special for the big day. She is really personal and fun to talk to during the process. She gave me tips to ensure I was prepared for the up-do like ensuring my hair was dry and buying waterproof mascara. I really liked that she was mobile and could visit us at the wedding site to do our hair. It was so nice to be at the venue relaxing instead of driving to a hair salon. I recently got my hair cut here and was not pleased by the results. I asked for a layered shoulder length cut, even had pictures. Instead I got an uneven blunt cut with long slanted bangs. I part my hair on the side and she cut it from a middle part. I'm just very unhappy with the results, so I'm going to have it redone at a different place. They are, however, very nice there.... Bad experience with Tiffany today. She is flat and dull with no personality and had no interaction with me at all. after she started working on me she had to get up multiple times to answer the phone. Long wait to get her to finish me. Finally when she said "all done" I had to ask her to use a curling iron on to give me a more finished look. she seemed put out and really had no idea what I was there for--- thin hair. She use the blow dryer in excess and it burned me. My ears were burning multiple times. Poor Tiffany. I am sure she doesn't represent what the store owner had in mind when he scheduled the apt for me. I gave her a $25 tip but I hated to have to do that. I am going somewhere else next time. The businesses in Placerville have all been trying very hard to be safe and respectful during this pandemic. I and my family try to support these businesses during this difficult time. Elements, on the other hand, makes no effort and exhibits no respect. They do not wear masks to cut your hair unless you insist. I have been going to Elements for about a year and pay the $30+ though I could go somewhere else for half that cost. I am a senior and I am more at risk so at my last visit I questioned why they did not take Covid more seriously. I was told they did not want to cut my hair and asked me to leave. Admittedly I did get a bit miffed and stormed out. The owner then yelled after me "F.Y. Move back to Santa Cruz". ? Really ! ? Most businesses in our community have shown respect for their patrons and the serious situation we find ourselves in. Elements, unfortunately, is not one of those. read more

Had been going there for years, so I gave him several opportunities to return my hair from a blonde experiment back to original brunette. However, he kept doing it over as blonde, never seeming to listen to me or look at the picture of an obvious brunette color. My husband and I saw the Debbie for microdermabrasion and facials. She did a great job - both of us noticed brighter skin the next day. She was informative, friendly, and was able to recommend products for each of us based on our skin types. She also waxed my eyebrows; I normally get ingrown hairs or bumps when getting waxed, but I didn't even get any redness where she waxed!
