Mike was patient, thorough, he explained everything in detail, always pleasant and extremely attentive towards my mom. Not only he was great for her, but he took the time to explain me, now her caretaker, how to continue the exercise program @ home making the treatment be more effective long term. I was so impressed by him that I thought he would be perfect to help me deal with some persistent lower back pain that I got from working from home. Just like with my mom, he helped me get better fast. I just don't have enough good things to say about this guy. He cares. He is good and you can tell that he likes his job. If you ever go there ask for him. Other therapists there are also good, but Mike is a class apart.

These facilities are supposed to be clean. People come here for clean surroundings that will not create germs. Please check this out. The therapists and staff were very competent and professional. After my successful, allotted sessions of physical therapy, the therapists recommended that I continue exercising to keep my knee strong and to ready my second knee for knee replacement surgery. I am so glad I heeded their advice. Rehab for my second surgery went exceptionally well, thanks to my following their advice to continue strengthening my leg for the surgery. Recently renovated and expanded... the place looks great…read more After going to one of his informational meetings, and hearing how a patient of Dr. McKenna had gotten off of some of the same prescription drugs my wife was on and trying to quit, I was determined to get her to come. While she's still in her corrective stage of treatment, she says she's feeling much better and I'd have to believe her. She also quit one of the meds so far. As for me, I'm more or less in maintenance and doing well. In the one and a half years that I've been a patient I've had maybe three or four headaches, all of which were either due to the atmosphere or dehydration. That's down from at least three, usually four to five headaches a week. The chiropractic stuff is amazing, and Dr. McKenna and his staff do a great job. Highly recommended.

I was in back pain for over three months. The pain was so bad that I couldn't walk even a few…read moresteps, sit for more than 15-minutes or sleep more than 2 to 3 hours a night. I even had a difficult time dress myself or even putting on my shoes. Yes, all simple tasks were nearly impossible! I went to urgent care, the chiropractor, a spine specialist, and even tried PT at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab with little to no relief. I heard about aqua therapy and ask my doctor to investigate it with me. I found Rush PT at Morraine Valley. Religiously I went 3-days a week. It was AMAZING. Things I could NOT do on land I could accomplish in the water. Eventually, we moved our therapy program to land with great success. Sarah my therapist recommended dried needling to help relieve my pain. I was reluctant at first but she assured me it was safe and effective. SURPRISE.... I was able to get off all my pain meds. (I was on 3 different types 3 times a day). It was like the spasms and pain stopped misbehaving. My pain was gone! My movement restored! Today, I am following the exercise program that Sarah has laid out for me and try to swim at least 2-days a week. I am back to my old self, med-free, pain-free, and happy to be moving again! I was having a lot of pain in my lower back and right hip in March…read more I saw my primary dr and she sent me for tests . The tests showed no issues . A week later I was in the ER with terrible pain. I had several tests done. They could find no issues except my bp was high from the pain. I followed up with a gastro dr for a scope. Again no issues. I decided to see Dr Greg (my son recommended him). He is very personable and took the time to listen to my symptoms and explain every step of the treatment. The adjustments are smooth, controlled, and never feel rushed. He is very thorough - and gave me a plan for exercises that I can do at home . I'm 70 years old and I know that following his instructions will help me to keep being mobile. I thoroughly recommend him.

I fell at work and suffered an injury and was sent to MidAmerica Orthopedics in Palos Hills. I had…read moreto see two specialists, one for my hand and wrist and another for my hip. The day after the fall I was experiencing pain in my shoulder, wrist, and hip and groin area. The doctor I saw for my hand and wrist provided an order for occupational therapy, which has worked wonders for improving my wrist mobility. I later had a CT scan and was seen by Dr. Kevin Lindsay-Rivera and PA Alexandrea Bosen. During that visit we reviewed the CT scan and Dr. Lindsay-Rivera explained the different types of tears and possibilities that could be causing my pain. During that same visit I informed both Dr. Kevin Lindsay-Rivera and PA Alexandrea Bosen about all of the areas where I was experiencing pain. Dr. Lindsay-Rivera performed a physical exam and when he moved my right leg inward I felt a sharp pain. He stopped the exam and suggested getting an MRI to see if there was a tear or anything further going on. At that point PA Bosen stated that she would clear me to return to work. I explained again that I was still in pain. Her response felt very condescending, as if I was trying to stay off work rather than explaining that I was genuinely in pain. The visit ended with her saying that we would schedule a follow up appointment on March 5, 2026 and re evaluate then. I had the MRI completed at an outside imaging facility because workers compensation only covers certain locations. On March 5, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. I arrived for my appointment with the MRI disc. The staff took the disc and then realized that the imaging center had not sent over the written report. Because of that, I was not seen and I was not evaluated. I explained that my pain had actually gotten worse. Once again I felt dismissed and was told they would contact me with their findings. I called multiple times to get an update because I needed to report back to my job with the results. I eventually spoke with PA Bosen and again I felt dismissed when I explained the situation. She became defensive and said, "From an orthopedic point, you are okay to return to work. We understand that you are in pain but we cannot help you with that." I explained that saying I was clear to return to work would make my employer believe I had been fully evaluated and found to be fine. The next day, March 6, I went back to the office to get a work note because I had been dismissed the day before without an exam or even a proper conversation. I was told that Dr. Lindsay-Rivera was out of the office and that I could not get a note because his documentation had not yet been finalized. I then spoke with the workers compensation coordinator, Cris Garcia. She told me she would take care of it on Monday, March 9, when the doctor returned to the office. Monday passed with no update. On Tuesday morning around 9:30 a.m. I called again and was told that the doctor had not responded to her the day before. Later that afternoon, around 4:00 p.m., my job called and informed me that I had been released back to work and was advised to follow up with my primary care physician because the injury supposedly did not appear to be related to the fall. They even suggested it might be something internal such as ovarian pain or appendicitis. At that point I felt completely ignored and made to feel like a liar. Last week I had my annual appointment with my primary care physician and explained the fall and the pain I have been experiencing. Her response was, "That sounds like a groin strain or a hip joint injury. Did they give you a referral to a sports medicine doctor or physical therapy?" I told her no and that they were simply trying to release me back to work. She then asked, "Even though you are still experiencing pain?" My primary care physician knows my medical history and did not jump to conclusions about appendicitis or ovarian pain. In all my years of seeking medical care, this is the first time I have ever felt dismissed and possibly biased against by medical professionals. I truly hate that I still have to return there to see the hand specialist. I do not want to walk through the doors of that facility again. I ultimately had to advocate for myself with my employer and request a second opinion. That is something I should not have had to do if the providers had simply listened to me as a patient.

I especially like to give a great Thank You to Tamika in HR. That is her role but she goes above and beyond the call of duty. This transition for me and my family has been very difficult. When I walk through the doors she always offers a sense of peace. I am grateful that she assist me with my request and make sure that it is done. I know that nursing homes usually have a hard reputation of challenges but this has been the 1st time I can be thankful for the support especially from Harmony!
