I don't visit hospitals often, but from the moment I arrived, I felt comfortable. During my checkup and temperature check, the staff made sure I felt at ease. A special thanks goes to Dr. Lucy, who calmly drew my blood more than once and gave me the courage to get through it without screaming or crying. She even gave me a heating pack afterward, which was a really thoughtful touch and made me feel like I had some control over the situation. Knowing I was in such capable hands made me feel safe and cared for. I also want to give honorable mentions to: Tech worker Michelle Lee O (I think that was his name; he was a white-skinned male with a really cool sleeve tattoo) Maggie (a tech worker with around 2 years of experience, if I remember correctly) They all did an excellent job making me feel comfortable while waiting and during my visit. Make sure you don't EVER forget to refill your medication with them because they won't refill it even if they know you don't have enough doses, the staff does and informs the doctor with information as they please. They'll answer the phones when they choose, one time I was on hold for 60 minutes plus, I was so frustrated I drove there and was still on hold when I got to the front desk. I showed the girl the phone and the timer that said 60+ minutes, she could care less. JUST DO YOUR JOB. Some people who work here should just not work in health care, especially in this field. Often times they've made me feel like crying by treating me like scum. I have severe nerve damage from a lung surgery and depression because of my pain, because of things like these you always have to treat people with respect and kindness. You never know what they're dealing with on the inside. It sounds so small, but being treated with respect and kindness can make a lot of difference for some people. I'm going to start going to a different office because I don't feel like their doing anything for my pain besides throwing medication at me. I am glad I am able to live my life because I wouldn't be able to without my medication, but I don't want this forever, I want to find out what's wrong with me and everything we can do to help.
