Just as I predicted. I wrote a review a couple of months ago. A concerning one to say the least…read more I received a song and dance noting how they strive for excellence and their top priority is the care of all patients. Their response asked that I contact them privately. Hell no!! Look at your 1 star ratings - there are so many - it will keep you reading for awhile. the information shared on the ratings is enough to make change if you wanted. My review is nothing new. Again , this place is a disgrace and no one should place a love one there. This is not just me or other families. A doctor from a hospital spoke to staff after the grove caused the patient a trip to the er which resulted in deterioration of the patient. After getting off the phone the doctor turned to me and was in disbelief noting the lack of knowledge and how grossly unprofessional the medical staff member was. I cannot stress enough how god awful the Grove is. If you want untrained, unprofessional and quite frankly unqualified individuals caring for your loved ones , you find your place.

Within moments, a team of five professionals were already attending to her. I was completely overwhelmed--in the best way--by their professionalism and kindness. I couldn't stop crying, not from fear, but from joy and relief, knowing my mom was finally in a safe and caring environment. Just prior to this, my mom had been at another facility for less than an hour, where absolutely nothing was done. We brought her back home because it was clear she wasn't receiving the care she needed. The contrast with The Grove has been night and day. In just 12 days at The Grove, we have already had an in-person care team meeting. Together, we agreed that my mom should see a specialist physician. The meeting was yesterday at 1:00 PM--and by this morning, I had already received a call with an update confirming that the physician had seen her. If that isn't true care, I don't know what is. Do not hesitate to bring your loved one here. They will be fully taken care of with patience, compassion, and dignity. And just as importantly, the family members are also supported and treated with kindness. We will forever be grateful. I would like to recognize the following exceptional team members who have truly been a blessing to our family: Razel Gallo Director of Community Outreach Liaison Anjali Sebastian Director of Concierge Services Shatirra Lee Social Worker Jessica Davidson Director of Rehabilitation Nicole Pacheco RN If I could name every team member, I would. An outstanding facility with exceptional professionalism and kindness throughout. Forever grateful,Beth Zambrano

While at the gym today, a very infirmed man had trouble and was in pain to the point of nearly fainting. I asked if he needed help since he could barely stand even with a walker. I looked around the Ground floor for help, but there was no one. I recommended that he press his emergency pendent, which he did. No one came. After five minutes, still no one came. More time passed. Still no one. I decided to go upstairs to the main desk to say someone needed help in the gym. They said they were aware of the emergency call but could not locate him. I then went downstairs and noticed a woman had finally arrived. However, she was rude, and ignored his request for a wheelchair, and began for forcefully push him backwards on his walker. When he mentioned his frustration about not being found after pushing the pendent, she just responded, "I'm here now." I said she arrived only because of me notifying the front desk, and she again slightly angrily repeated her statement. I was appalled at her attitude, but more importantly, her ignoring his request for a wheelchair, which he clearly needed. I went upstairs to reflect what I witnessed and to complain. I was then introduced to a manager. I said that I would hate to have my 84 year old mother treated this way if she had an emergency.

The upside of that is better quality in both food and service and programs. The residents are upscale and hip . The brunches pre Covid are amazing with unlimited mimosas even though my 93 year old mom never has more than one. My mom loves it there and that's the most important thing. While I want to sincerely thank the excellent PT, OT staff, and the Activity Director--all of whom were compassionate, professional, and highly competent--my experience with the nursing care and administration left me deeply concerned. While some nurses and aides were attentive, others showed a disturbing lack of empathy, especially toward vulnerable residents. One elderly woman--who I learned was a former nun--would cry out for help repeatedly at night. She was often ignored for hours, even when she managed to crawl into the hallway from her bed (which had been placed on the floor for fall prevention). I personally witnessed night staff literally walk around her, rather than assist. On the rare nights a more compassionate aide was present, she received help--but this should not be the exception. Upon discharge, my prescribed medications (from the hospital) were supposed to be coordinated with my local pharmacy. I was assured by both the "visiting physician" and head nurse that my prescriptions were sent. They were not. I confirmed multiple times with the pharmacy that nothing had been received. I ended up discharged at 1:00 PM with no access to critical medications, despite having done everything I was told. Repeated calls to Bayberry got me nowhere--staff had already "gone home for the day." Finally, at 10:15 PM, I was told I could come pick up my medications myself--and only after insisting--was I offered reimbursement for the $100 Uber round trip. After a month of serious health challenges, I was forced to travel at 10:30 PM from the Bronx to New Rochelle just to get the medications I should have had that morning. My pharmacy did not receive proper prescription orders until 4 days later. No apology or follow-up was ever given by the Nursing Home Administrator, the Head Nurse, or the "Visiting Physician." This facility may appear quaint and capable of personalized care, but too many staff members are either untrained, indifferent, or both. If your loved one is cognitively impaired or unable to advocate for themselves, please be cautious. Bayberry needs to do serious internal reflection and overhaul its administrative and night shift care systems. Until then, I cannot in good conscience recommend this facility to others.

Forgets to do the basic, The Director of Nursing has not been a RN for years as she claims, but well under a year. Unless it is for a short stint of 2-3 weeks, keep your loved ones away or they will have a lot more problems than when they came in, due to the extreme neglect. Staff is extremely lazy. Some nurses were so overweight, that they would get winded walking down hallways and would need to sit down for 10 mns and seemed worse off than the patients. THIS IS NOT NORMAL!

If you are considering placing a loved one here, please read!…read more My mother was admitted to The Enclave in April 2022 for short-term rehabilitation after a hospital stay. At the time, she was living at home with daily care, fully capable of self-feeding, writing, shifting in bed, managing her wheelchair and even giving herself injections. What happened over the next 11 months at The Enclave was a steady and devastating decline, caused by neglect, poor oversight and what appears to be financial manipulation of Medicare/Medicaid benefits. Staff repeatedly insisted that my mother's decline was due to her "chronic condition" rather than their care. We now know that was not true; since leaving The Enclave, she has regained some strength and improved at another facility. Basic Care Neglected and Alarming Conduct by Staff * Staff ignored obvious daily needs: showering, grooming, nail care, phone accessibility; room was filthy with a sticky floor. Personal items were constantly vanishing. * Medication was mishandled, with refrigerated meds left out and refills left to the family to arrange. * Staff were unfamiliar with her catheter, delaying proper care for months. * Food was unnecessarily pureed into oblivion despite her ability to chew and swallow - they just did not want to be bothered to assist her eating real food. * A staff member referred to my mother as "the devil," hid her personal belongings and used her charger (and actually snapped at me when I moved it during a visit) - complaints to the caseworker about this treatment were met with ambivalence. Medical Negligence * First wound doctor exam came two months after admission. By November, she had multiple stage 4 wounds down to the bone. * Notes repeatedly claimed she used a spirometer (to prevent pneumonia), but she never once received it. Records looked like copy/paste entries from previous entries. * She endured constant infections, dehydration and pneumonia. Staff failed to ensure she ate or drank; food trays were left untouched without help. * In December-January, she became frail, unresponsive, and malnourished, yet there was no plan of care for feeding assistance. I thought she was going to die. Shocking Withholding of Hospital Care * Despite worsening wounds and repeated infections, she was not sent to the hospital until I traveled to NY and insisted they call an ambulance. * Records show a lung mass was first noted in August 2022 but only addressed months later. She was finally transferred to Greenwich Hospital in February 2023, where doctors were horrified at her condition and said she should have been admitted far earlier. Questionable Medicare/Medicaid Billing * On 10/31/22, right after disclosing that her wounds were too severe for her to go home, The Enclave reengaged her Medicare benefit for "urgent care" with no explanation to the family. This conveniently locked in three full months of Medicare billing (Nov-Jan), while they also collected her Medicaid spend-down (~$7,000). * When she needed placement after Greenwich Hospital, almost no rehab centers would accept her because The Enclave had exhausted her Medicare coverage. Final Impression The Enclave did not treat my mother with dignity or compassion. They ignored obvious care needs, allowed her to deteriorate, misrepresented treatments in the records and seemed more focused on extracting Medicare money than sending her to the hospital when she needed it. When I picked up her belongings after less than 24 hours in the hospital, her room was already cleared as if she had never existed. I guess they needed a bed for their next "patient." Just look at the before-and-after pictures of my mother. She entered capable and independent. She left frail, malnourished, with stage 4 wounds and permanent damage after less than 11 months. I also included a photo of ONE of her terrible wounds and her urine bag from the Enclave vs. the Greenwich hospital so you can see how dehydrated she was at the Enclave. This facility should be investigated. Don't be fooled by their lobby fountain, this is a house of horrors.

My grandmother has been a resident here for several years, and in that time, we've faced consistent issues with the staff's attitude and treatment of our family. Visits have often felt unwelcome and uncomfortable, as the staff has repeatedly been rude and unaccommodating. They've even made my mother feel threatened by bringing up family disputes rather than focusing on my grandmother's care. Because of internal family tensions--my aunt holds guardianship and is not supportive of family visits--the nursing home has enforced her wishes to an extreme. We've been denied even the chance to celebrate my grandmother's 95th birthday in a common area. It's as if the home finds it easier to side with convenience rather than advocate for a 95-year-old resident's dignity. We've also witnessed serious neglect. My grandmother has been left lying on a mattress on the floor, undressed, for hours. When we've requested basic care like a diaper change, we've waited six, seven, even eight hours with no action, met only with eye-rolling and dismissive excuses. To make matters worse, the nursing home helped ban my cousin--my grandmother's own granddaughter--based on a false accusation simply because she advocated for better care. When my cousin tried to visit for my grandmother's birthday, she was humiliated by a face-scanner alarm that blocked her entry. This is the extent to which the home and my aunt have gone to keep family away, making my grandmother's life even more isolated and miserable. Lastly, be aware that this facility has changed its name multiple times to hide poor reviews and a troubled history. They're renovating the exterior to look more upscale and attract new clients, but the fundamental problems remain. The staff's lack of compassion and the poor quality of care are still the same. It's not about the building; it's about the people they employ, and that makes this place truly unacceptable for anyone's loved one. The 3rd floor are the gates of HELL. The nurses here are pure EVIL!! Very few really care or do a good job. The head nurse (Daniella?) is the Devil's ring leader! Horrible horrible human beings.
