I've been going here for a year now and no matter who cuts my hair, it's done with care and attention to detail. I pretty much get a high and tight and I've had some barbers wrap that up in 10 or 15 minutes. Not at Elian's. They put in the time and it looks like it. And I never have to ask to have the nape of my neck shaved and my eyebrows trimmed. So nice! The vibe is nice and welcoming. Busy but plenty of chairs with some great music playing. read more

This is probably the best dollar for dollar barber shop in the south/southwest ct/danbury/westchester area! I am ANAL when it comes to my hair and my son's (who is 4). I was reluctant at first with my mediocre spanish speaking ability but BOY, am i glad i got past that! Lolly pops and machine snacks for the kids, large lobby and tv and no appt needed. My son loves going with me. Not only do the barbers understand English just fine, their skills are top notch and at a great price. I use PERALTA as my barber and have had a great experience and one other barber there. All are great. Whether you want just a fade, part/trim or a fancy complicated design, this is the place! Our regular guy is great, respectful and considerate... but the other guys that work there are usually the most obnoxious assclowns I've ever seen. Between the TV's blasting and the customers watching videos on their cellphones at volumes to wake the dead... it makes it worse when the employees constantly try to out do the customers to see whose phone can be louder! Might have to find a new place to go. read more

Elian's Barber Shop is the best shop in CT!!! Every time I've walked in, somebody always greets me with a smile and says, "Hello, do you need help/What kind of haircut would you like?" And it's those small things that matter the most. All of the barbers are top notch and do amazing work, while also being very polite. The heavily Latin American influence here makes me feel like I'm on vacation in the Dominican Republic I love it! And the Spanish tunes are always played, @ a comfortable volume, on the stereo...it just makes me happy !!! read more

I've tried all of them which they do a good job but for my own preference I get a haircut from Juan he's like the darker skin tone Dominican in that shop listens very well to details of how you want your hair and takes he's time with you so if your in a rush I wouldn't guarantee you going to him other than that the place is friendly and a very clean environment read more

Most barbers here are Spanish speaking, and there's a TV playing Telemundo at all times. It took me awhile to get used to being the only English speaking guy in the place, but I'm glad I got over it. Guy destroyed my beard. I used to have a full thick beautiful long beard I patiently grew out for months and all it took was 20 min at this place and 15 dollars to destroy it. Im pissed to put it politely.AND on top of it what he left me with looks horrible! I asked for the sideburns to be faded and the sides to be tightened up without taking any length off...Seconds later he has his clippers out and boom chunks of my beard are hitting the apron and floor. What he did took no skill whatsoever and I will never be back there. If you don't understand what a customer wants ask!!!! JUST ASK!!!! Or say you're incapable of what they want and that would be that. I would've rather spent Easter weekend with a long shaggy beard in need of a tightening than the disaster this guy left me with. I wanted to continue to let mine grow and now I'm back to starting over. Months of growth lost. Never stepping foot in this barbershop again! Because if I did I'd probably strangle this barber with the wire of his clippers that screwed my beard up. Pure laziness or not wanting to take the time and use the scissors for the job, EVERYONE wants to use CLIPPERS and just do the job fast. Moved up to this area in 2000. I continued to drive down to Brooklyn to get my hair cut for 12+ years until I found this place. Love the place and particularly Melvin. They have a new expanded place and quite comfortable. I bring my young son here and he is treated fantastically. They now have Sunday hours which is convenient. read more

There are so many barbers and chairs here that your experience will vary drastically depending on who you get. My last cut, the guy didn't wash out my product I used so the finished style was super different and messy from what he saw. Been recovering from that for months now. read more

This place is awesome. Reasonable prices. Friendly, personable vibe. I bring my son here for hair cuts and they are always good. Was taking him to salons and they would charge $$$. Here? His cuts are $12. And I leave a nice tip. All the barbers are great. There is sushi ally loud music playing in the back ground. I've seen people of all backgrounds and persuasions get cuts here. Great shop. Visit about 3-4 times a month, and never have been disappointed. There are always 6-8 barbers on, so the wait is rarely ever a problem for walk-ins. My barber (Elvin) does walk-ins and appointments, but the need for an appointment varies by barber. They recently moved to a bigger, better space (which is right next door to the previous location), with better parking. Definitely one of the best and most versatile around. Not too many authentic shops like this outside of NY. Highly recommended! read more
