I waited until it was my appointment's exact time. Meanwhile I had a coffee ;-) then they call me and did the regular check ups before the doctor comes in. Doctor Barquin was very nice and took her time to check me, talk to me, ask me about everything she needed to know. Then she showed me information about preventive medicine and healthy eating habits. I loved the appointment because I felt comfortable and learned new things. Thank you Dr. Barquin ! Days later she was admitted to the same hospital thru emergency and taken care by a hospitalist at said hospital. I eventually saw the PA, Maria. She came recommended by friends. The first appointment was really promising. She sounded dedicated to figuring out the root cause to my health issues. She put a CGM on my arm and basically wasn't able to get any of the info. So about four months later she finally was able to finally read it. She had me come in to basically read it and lab work and then continued to give me outdated calorie cutting type advice. I wasted my time and money.

As a new resident not only to Florida, but to Miami, you should know this is a large, congested city. If you needed a prescription filled then perhaps you should have tried an Urgent Care. I waited a month to see Dr. McCormack and it was absolutely worth the wait. The reason you have to wait to see her is that she spends a long time with her patients. She spent almost an hour with me, asking everything in ways that were sincere and with genuine concern. She explained treatments and alternatives. I was recommended to her from a friend. It is rare to find doctors this caring, and willing to spend the time you need. Yes, it is frustrating having to wait to be seen in many places in Miami, but sometimes the wait is worth it. Whenever I have needed follow ups or to be seen immediately they have been as accommodating as possible.
