I wasn't sure what to expect. Being a classroom teacher, I'm used to organizing and running my own birthday parties but after today, I'm never doing that again. Having our party here was SO easy and fun. We invited 18 kids so we had 20 kids there. The teachers divided them up into three groups and they rotated. They did a rope swing obstacle course, trampoline with flips, and other fun activities. They helped me set up AND clean up. When I asked if they needed help, they insisted that this is part of what I paid for. Each of the teachers was so nice and fun and this group of kindergarten aged kids had a blast. I would highly recommend this place for classes or your child's birthday. It is so worth the money and it will ease your stress as a parent. Thank you SBGC!

The initiation fee is already a joke... $60 just for joining on top of the monthly $150... then less than 2 weeks after paying over $200 just to join you try to sneakily charge us $150 again?? And now when I try to call to talk to someone about all this your lines sound like you haven't paid your phone bill so I can't even speak to anyone??? I don't think I've ever come across a more poorly run business. I don't think I've ever been upset enough to leave a bad yelp review, but I certainly am now. And now, after reading all the other bad reviews of this business... including someone who discovered the owners dog bit their child and left a nasty bruise during a class and nobody told the parents... I'm just so sad a place like this exists. Please do not bring your children here.

Also some additional shade up there would be nice! It is super bright and VERY sunny (almost blinding with the white paint)! Highly recommend people bring sunglasses up there. It's nice because it is a very spacious museum that offers a lot. Often it is very clean too!

They have a 90 mile rule for using reciprocal kids museums and Pasadena's Kidspace is 89 miles away. $25 an adult is not worth it for the parents of a non crawler.

They went out of their way to accommodate his nutritional needs. We had to spend three months in Santa Barbara in 2019 for family reasons, and wanted to take advantage of the time there to let our 19 month old get socialized in a pre-school. We live in LA, so naturally compared Hope 4 Kids to some of the places we've looked at in LA, like CEE, Christopher Robin, and numerous other really nice, 'fancy' pre-schools. Hope 4 Kids is nicer than them all, and provides an amazing foundation for kids to learn. The 'outdoor education project' approach of the school has led the school to build an incredible outdoor classroom, and the kids are always engaged and having fun while learning, mostly in the outdoors. Teresa's enthusiasm for this outdoor classroom initiative is contagious, and from the moment we were introduced to the school we were certain that it was a great choice for our son. The faculty/student ratio is really low, and every teacher and teacher's aide we met was highly engaged and held to a really high standard of care for the kids and professionalism. We love this school and were so sad to leave Santa Barbara and H4K. It's an amazing place. (please also note that we are not particularly religious - this school is affiliated with a church, but operates on basic human principles of a respect for others and the beautiful world around us)

We've been to Stow House several times. First was maybe five or six years ago. We were able to…read moretake a tour of the inside of the historic home at that time. That was before we discovered the "Passport 2 History" program. When we did get the Passport and reviewed which spots were in it, I was glad to see this property listed, as an incentive to go back. We made a return visit two months ago, on a warm Saturday afternoon. It was lovely to see the vintage architecture spotlighted against a brilliant autumn sky. Warmer than usual, with no wind, it was a great time to be at the property. There was a young woman covering the gift shop. She told us that while the grounds were open, they weren't able to offer tours of the house that day. "Shortage of docents". I don't know the situation with who currently owns / runs the house - is it a foundation, the City, the County? Many historic properties were deeded by descendants of original owners to local municipalities to be shared with the public going forward. I'm sure that it's a challenge for any legacy property like this to get enough docents lined up, trained, and scheduled. They would mostly be volunteers, after all. While it was disappointing to not revisit the interior of the mansion, we did collect out P2H sticker, then spent time wandering the grounds. That was something we hadn't done previously. The lawn areas and mature palm trees are serene and beautiful. Going around the perimeter of the main house yielded new views I don't recall before. We snapped some photos, then adjourned to the train museum next door. The next time we're in the area, we'll call ahead to see if they are offering tours that day. Might be wise to do the same!

The farm area is open and my kids were able to look at old farming tools. There are benches here as well. Definately a cool place to bring a picnic. Recently, I witnessed her father…read morebringing recording equipment to rehearsals and filming full performances of other dancers from behind. I documented this and reported it to the studio. Their response? It was "just a parent" filming, and they saw no need to take further action--even refusing to ask parents to only record their own children. In today's world, where recordings of young girls can end up misused online, I expected more awareness and safeguards from the management. A simple policy or announcement would go a long way, but instead, they offered a vague, dismissive response. I find this lack of action concerning and irresponsible. If your priority is your child's safety, I recommend finding a studio that takes it seriously and sets clear boundaries around filming.

I love that when I call the studio there is always a staff person I can talk to and they are so helpful.
