Worst dentist I've ever been to. She put a bridge on a tooth that needed a root canal that has led to a massive infection that has left me fatigued, and not myself for over three months. She quoted $32,000 worth of dental work to the VA pretty much trying to rebuild my whole mouth when there was just a couple crowns in a root canal that needed to be done. Instead of referring me to an endodontist, she put on a bridge which, as I stated before is now infected and causing medical issues. read more

This doctor and office is amazing! I'm new to California so finding a new dentist was on the lower end of my to do list. The lobby is small but cozy. The dental hygienists seem young & new, but they were sweet. Dr. Beckly is so down to earth, honest, and takes time to explain things from her POV. She helped recommend an electric toothbrush too. Where to start? The first few visits were decent, x-rays were taken and cleaning. Fast forward 1.5 years I noticed a decline in service. Since I hadn't been in over a year, I was told I have six cavities and need one root canal. I haven't had cavities in such a long time so that was a surprise and news to me. Since it was the bottom molar that needed a root canal, they needed to get me in with the endodontist. They scheduled me for a consultation with the endodontist three weeks out and at this time I requested to speak to the dentist about my options as far as possibly getting an extraction instead , I was told that would be a part of the discussion with the endodontist as they are putting me in for a consultation. When I came in for my consultation, the endodontist was ready to conduct the root canal with no conversation. When I let him know, I thought I was there for a consultation and to go over options, he appeared frustrated that he was being slowed down, and had the manager /billing person speak to me. When I told her I was expecting a consultation , and to have a discussion she was surprised, and due to the pressure from the endodontist, she, talked me out of an extraction and said root canal is the best option. This came from her not from the endodontist or the dentist. And she quoted me 1400 out of pocket and quick pressure I said OK. Once the procedure was done, it was actually $600 more than I was initially told because they didn't check with insurance to verify. So I paid 2300 for a root canal out-of-pocket, which is unheard of for me. This is after insurance. That's not the worst part, I went back in 3 weeks later saying the area around that tooth is tender still. I was concerned that tooth was still infected and that notion was dismissed by the dentist and two months later, it's still sensitive so, I went to a different dentist and endo and they told me the infection was left untreated for months and grew. This is dangerous. This is not all. I was also told that they have to redo the work that their endodontist did at elite dental and do an antibiotic treatment. This will not be covered by insurance due to the fact that there is a rule where insurance will not cover a root canal for the second time on the same tooth in a 12 month period. So, not only did they mess up when they did the root canal and leave me within infection, I can't even get it covered with the next endodontist and I have to come out of pocket again For something that should have been taken care of the first time around. This is disappointing because I am not wealthy. I don't have thousands of dollars, but I have to come up with it because I can't let the infections spread even more. I've left emails. I've called the office. They are very difficult to get a hold of. I would say I'm extremely disappointed and it's a stressful situation to where my TMJ is activated thinking about it. What they should do is refund my money so I could give it to incredible endodontist to fix what the last one was unable to do successfully. read more

I don't know what changed but this place has been going down recently. I have been here for years and it has never been this bad. You have an appointment and they change the time on you without asking you first, not once but twice. Also the front office workers text you after hours at night to ask you about your upcoming appointment as if they don't know what the appointment is about, very unprofessional. The dr was fantastic however the office staff is not so great. I'm not sure what they're doing over there but I went in April15 for an initial first time appointment and they had me under the wrong insurance it has now been almost two months and I cannot get a straight answer. They were over charging for service needed and my insurance confirmed it. I called with my insurance company to figure it out and the dental office confirmed they had me under the wrong insurance.I've called several times since to get information and have been told several times that I would get a call back to fix the error and I have yet to get a call back. One time when I called I was placed on hold and sent over to the billing department and I was sent to their voicemail and Immediately was able to listen to other patient messages that had been left for the office. This type of situation makes me feel as though this office staff is either incompetent or they refuse to provide services to me. Zero Stars - Do Not Recommend I had been going to Elite for quite a few years and there would occasionally be front office / billing issues. These were a pain but the overall experience was good enough to keep me going. In the last two years or so the issues increased including my insurance not being billed, not receiving a bill for months and then being told I was being sent to collections, issues making appointments, difficulty reaching anyone at the office, etc. Finally last April I changed dental offices. Then two weeks ago I received an email stating I have an outstanding bill for a few hundred dollars. As I said, I haven't been there for months and due to prior issues I made sure to pay my balance at each appointment for the last couple of years. I've called the office on several days at different times but can't get anyone to answer the phone and no one returns my voice mail messages. We used to receive wonderful care but it's gone downhill. Tried to tell me I needed to pay $1400 for a root canal that my insurance says they never submitted a claim for and should have no copay. Also told me I needed 8 crowns done at 400-1200 each. I got a second opinion and only need 2 with no copay needed. When I tried calling to get clarification about why they were going to charge me and why they didn't submit the claim to my insurance I was lied to. I'm not the only person that has experienced these issues. It's really too bad because we used to enjoy going. I cracked a back tooth, was in a ton of pain and they took my Kaiser based insurance. BUT Instead of addressing my broken tooth they got their monies worth from Delta Dental. They took full mouth xrays, which they refused to send over to my new dentist, and then the dentist spent an hour telling me everything wrong with every tooth in my head, including that 3 teeth needed pulling! Then in walks the closer telling how much I would have to pay above what the insurance company paid. First, each extraction was $1,000!!! By the time she got to the $6,000 for 3 crowns...I was out of the chair and heading for the door! They wasted 3 hours of my life! The next day I found a local dentist that did not believe in extracting teeth but filling them to save the bone structure of my jaw! How old fashion is that? I have an appt today at 11am, it is currently 1130 and I am still in the waiting room. This is my first time here and the ladies are nice however, the waste of your time waiting although you have an appt is ridiculous. 9/16/2024 Let me update this review and take a star away since that's all I can do. Not only did it take an hour waiting to be seen but since I wrote my review as I sat in the waiting room I also heard one of the receptionist (she had walked away, she's currently in crutches) call the blonde lady that was at the front desk (which was the one I had checked in with) to let her know I left a 2 star review. The lady on crutches then comes back out to the front and has the gall to address me regarding my Yelp review and told me they were waiting on my paperwork. My paperwork was submitted online by 10:58 am which the blonde lady also told her over the phone when I overheard them talking about me. Not once had the lady on crutches spoke to me that morning or addressed me waiting for nearly an hour but instead found my Yelp review worth addressing me over. She stated that is why there is a curtesy note placed on the door because there might be a wait. I understand there may be a wait but anything over 30 mins when you have a scheduled appointment is crazy; they should book less patients to avoid wasting our time and to give us the adequate care needed. There's a $150 fee (maybe more) if you cancel an appt without a 72 hour notice but the office excuses themselves from wasting your time waiting. Although they are getting paid to provide services they treat you as if it's a free service they are conducting. I now understand the negative reviews left here. I was taken to the back at 11:58 and waited another 15 mins before the dentist walked in to look at my tooth and tell me it has to be extracted, he was in the room with me for no more than 5 mins and that's being generous. He wasn't kind, didn't explain much, and honestly seemed to rush me out because I left them a review while I waited to be seen. I am a veteran and got a referral through the Loma Linda VA to get a rootcanal however, they clearly have a contract with the VA to make easy money and not actually help people. 9/17/2024 read more

This was my first visit to Elite Dental, and I was a bit disappointed when I walked into the front office and wasn't greeted. When the office staff returned to the front desk, they still didn't acknowledge my presence. However, once I entered the dental room, both the dental assistant and the dentist were extremely friendly and attentive. They explained everything they were doing very clearly. I then had my teeth cleaned, and the hygienist was patient, thorough, and gentle with my teeth and gums. I will update this review after my next appointment. read more

I tried getting my teeth cleaned here in August. They said I needed deep cleaning instead of regular cleaning which I probably do, so new appointment was made in October. The Dental Hygienist canceled that appointment due to not being available that day. I was ok with that. Rescheduled appointment for December, and today they need to reschedule again due to no hygienist available. I gave up on this dental group and will be going somewhere else. They promote deep cleaning but they don't seem to have an available hygienist to do that kind of work. read more

Really sad to see this practice decline over the years. Dr Breckley is still there but sold to a corporation. Last week, I waited over an hour for an appointment which I had been told would be for a filling, but turned out to be a cleaning follow up. I had a crown replaced but continue to have discomfort so now they are evaluating for a root canal; This eval was to be today, but after waiting 40 min, I requested my records and left. I financed the work to be done and have already been paying - and now the work isn't even done! It's really terrible to see this level of disorganization and wonder if my care is actually being done appropriately. I caution anyone considering this practice. I was told I have 10 cavities and need two deep cleanings. I called the next day to ask what "medicaments" meant on my treatment receipt (it was $260). Debby said it was medicine used after deep cleaning and she went on about how my full treatment was much more and that my insurance was covering most. I asked for the code used and she quickly gave it to me rather annoyed. I mentioned I've never had that many cavities and that the cost per cavity was more than I've expected since they do not offer silver fillings which is usually covered with my insurance. I asked if it was possible to see my x-rays again (since I don't remember the doctor showing me 10, I thought there was about 6). She said I have a right to a second opinion (I merely wanted to count them myself) and she will email me a form so I can fill it out with another dentist's information. I told her I didn't have another dentist and she said I can fill it out for myself and she'll send them to me. Debby then said I have an appointment tomorrow for my first cleaning and that she will cancel it. I told her I was only concerned with paying for 10 cavities and would like to get my cleaning done still and she insisted that "the doctor doesn't want to work with people who are not 100% confident in their dentist" and that she will indeed cancel my appointment. I had no idea what a second opinion was, I just wanted to look each cavity myself before going in for my other appointments. This is a new dentist for me so I don't see why asking about my records would cause them to discontinue treatment with me. I've called back twice the same day since my appointment was cancelled and requested to speak to the doctor, I'm still waiting on the call back. I'm not sure if this is standard office policy or if Debby overreacted. I haven't seen a dentist in years and wasn't questioning this dentist's observations, I merely don't have a budget for all these dental expenses and wanted to look at the x rays myself. I understand businesses have the right to refuse business to people, but I didn't do anything wrong! Now I have to spend hours looking for another HMO dentist, I've waited months for this appointment since I was a new client but happened to get a toothache and they saw me sooner. The doctor and staff is nice, Debby is fake nice. But if this is policy to discontinue treatment with anyone who doesn't understand something or wants to look at their own records/ check what's covered in their policy, that's pretty messed up. This dentist is a complete fruad. I wish I would had gotten a second opinion before letting this women work on my teeth. She did probably 8 fillings and one crown. Talk about complete shaming a client when they have suffered from a autoimmune disorder for years. An educated dentist would know the impact on a client's teeth after suffering from ulcerative colitis. My last visit she told me I needed 3 fillings. I ended up leaving her practice because some of her comments. Also shamming me about my tattoos. I did not think me having tattoos is any of her business. I went to a different dentist and got a full exam. The dentist told me I had zero cavities. I would love to know where she thought I needed 3 fillings. Let alone my new dentist I have now been seeing for years said who ever did the work on my crown did not do a good job. The part of my tooth was not sealed correctly. It has taken me years to finally step up and write a review about this dentist. Finding out how poorly done my crown was done has sent me over the top. Clients put their trust in this dentist. She is a medical professional that is supposed to be honest and truthful. Not take advantage of clients and say they need dental work when they dont. I'm sure this dentist probably does great work, but like others have said, I feel the need to comment on their seemingly strange practices. This dentist - Would not let me opt out of the gingivival irrigation that insurance does not help with. Other dentist have this optional, in my experience. My opinion is that if insurance won't help with a procedure, it may be unnecessary. Would only install the highest end, most expensive crown options. Had a salesperson in a blazer come in to close the sale with me. I've never had a dentist with a designated in office salesperson like this. Offers a warranty. I've never had a dentist mention a formal warranty before. Kind of strange to me. Just my opinion, but I felt like this was akin to buying an extended warranty on a TV or something. Would not perform any work unless I opted in to all of her recommended services, rather or not they were covered by insurance. It was all or nothing with her, including the high end crowns. The above said, I'm betting she does very good actual dental work, but her sales practices seem very strange and allign with what others have said here. Got HMO insurance set up to see this facility that kicks in about a month, and I have a couple painful issues I need help with asap. I called to try to schedule an appointment for when the insurance kicks in on Dec 1st. The receptionist was totally unhelpful. She said I could not book an appointment even to pay out of pocket. I don't believe this is true. I've worked in finances and have had experience with medical billing for many years and have never encountered someone saying that. So I asked her what the lead time generally is for an appointment with their practice and she stated 1-2 weeks. I explained my plight to her, and asked if she could work with me to schedule an appointment as close to December 1st as possible, and that I would provide any documentation they required to prove I would have insurance for their practice. She was very clearly irritated with me. She fumbled and hesitated and finally said "Sure" and agreed to set an appointment. I asked what availability they had closest to Dec 1st and she flatly stated: "December 15th. We have absolutely no openings before December 15th." Sure they didn't. She was just going 2 weeks out from December the 1st when my insurance kicks in. It was very clear. I will most definitely be finding a different dental office. Too bad for them because I am desperate for some immediate dental work that has been quoted at $6-$10k, and was prepared to spend some good money. read more

Like others, I chose this office because of the high ratings that initially show up when you google the office. Bad choice on my part; this is the worst dental office I have ever been to, and I have been to many. From Western Dental to actual Elite dental offices (this office can call themselves Elite all they want to, they have proven they are not elite, by any definition of the word), this one doesn't even measure up to a Western Dental. Don't go here, don't waste your time with this office; you will walk away with less money, and more frustration than anywhere else while also feeling gaslit. I went in today for a cleaning and was refused service because I requested a regular cleaning after they tried to convince me I needed a deep cleaning. When I scheduled this appointment I thought it was a regular cleaning until I looked it up. At check-in, I told the receptionist I needed to talk to the dentist about the treatment plan they put together for me as I have done my research since I was there in April for my first visit. It's full of "upgraded" items on it that I didn't ask for and made clear, I wasn't interested in. For example, they are charging $375 for a crown which is normal according to my payment schedule with my dental insurance, but they are adding a $995 upgrade on the crown. I don't need this, the tooth is in the very back of my mouth, I'm good with something cheap and less pretty; so, let's get this cost down. Not only was I looked at like I was asking them to treat me for free, but my question also wasn't even answered, I was given a "treatment is decided based on diagnosis" answer when that has nothing to do with the upgrades and inflated cost of what they are saying I require. I questioned why I needed a deep cleaning now when I've never required one before followed by the statement that I have little to no build-up on 2 of my teeth(this has been removed at other offices with a regular cleaning), with no buildup on any of the others, I have no signs of gum disease, I have no hint of bleeding when I brush or floss, etc; these are all signs of gum disease which would require a deep cleaning, I don't have these signs therefore a deep cleaning and trying to force me to pay them $205 today wasn't medically necessary, and I again requested a regular cleaning. No explanation would be provided for any of the questions I asked, all I got out of them, on repeat, was that I have build-up (that, again, they couldn't even show me) and it's required, or they won't treat me. Very matter of fact answers and with the insinuation that I am not as educated as they are when it comes to dental issues and treatment; while it's accurate that I am not a dentist, I do my research and I know what I am talking about when it comes to my own body and teeth. If I state I am not comfortable with you digging up into my gums without sufficient proof that I need the treatment, then the medical staff should respect that, not bully a patient into doing what they say you need to. In addition to this, the actual dentist won't even speak to you if you are disputing the treatment plan, she puts together for you. She sends her office manager out, who treated me, and spoke to me like I'm stupid or like she knows what is better for me. I know what's better for me, more than anyone else would do so again, bullying a patient because they disagree is not correct or how any dental office should treat patients. I have never heard of any dental office refusing to treat a patient because the patient didn't agree with the treatment plan, which is clearly over-inflated to make the dental office more money than the insurance plan would cover; I have always been given a choice if I didn't agree with a treatment plan, trying to bully someone into something they aren't comfortable with is not good patient care, it is not the standard of care any physician should follow. They don't care about the patient, they care about how much money they can make from the patient and see dollar signs when a person walks in, nothing more. read more

Please read my other review. Buttttt I just finished with the other dental office and they said half the amount of work was required than I was told at Elite. The dentist at Elite said she didn't even know if my teeth could be saved and it would be a lot of work. Turns out that most of it is failing fillings. I am in absolute disbelief with the hideous customer service and shady business practices of this dental group. I had to make an appointment for a tooth that needed to be pulled. From the very first visit I noticed that the front office staff lacked in people skills (Debbie and Kathy) but the dentist was extremely nice so, I just let it go. The dentist referred me to an oral surgeon to have the tooth pulled and said that once that was taken care of, I could come back for a complete eval and xrays. After my evaluation and xrays I was told that I needed quite a few procedures and that before providing me with the associated costs Debbie wanted to reach out to my insurance in order to "maximize my benefits". When I was leaving they scheduled me for a root canal the next week and Debbie said that she was going to give me a call as soon as she spoke to my insurance. I thought it was weird I didn't hear from her for the rest of the week, but the next Monday evening when I got the mail I had received a breakdown of the associated costs for the root canal and crown. It was going to cost $875 for both procedures which seemed a little high to me and there wasn't an estimate for any of the other work that they told me I needed. So in the morning I called the office to inquire about the costs and to ask where the rest of the estimate was. When I asked Debbie to go over the fees with me she was extremely rude and asked me what my specific question was. I told her that I didn't understand her what the fees/descriptions were and I asked her to explain them to me. She hadn't contacted my insurance like she said she would at the last visit. She also didn't seem to have a clue as to what the specific billing was for except that they were charges for a root canal and crown, which I understood that much already. I asked her why there wasn't an estimate for all of the work and she said just because she didn't do that. Ok. So after we hung up I called my insurance to get a better understanding of what the descriptions and associated fees were. My insurance rep said that it was clear that they were trying to overcharge me for the cost of the crown and that I needed to ask the dental office to go through the proper procedure for authorizing my work and that they should know what that process is. So I called the office back and explained to Debbie that my insurance said that the billing was wrong and that she needed to contact my insurance. She got angry and told me that it was fine she would just downgrade the material for the crown, I told her I didn't understand what I was being billed for because she hadn't really explained anything to me and that the insurance was clear that I was being overcharged. Debbie said that she has been doing this a long time and there was no way that she made a mistake. So I called the insurance back and spoke to a different representative and she confirmed what the first rep had said and explained more specifically that the dental office was required to submit a pre authorization for all of the work that I needed, in order to prevent me from having additional out of pocket costs. The rep said that the dental office should ALWAYS follow this process for any of the individuals enrolled in this insurance. So I called the office back a 3rd time to say I wanted to do things the right way and would Debbie please submit the complete treatment plan to my insurance carrier before moving forward with any work. She got even angrier now and told me that she absolutely never does that and not to worry "it's fine" come on in and she would just handle it later. I told her that I did not feel comfortable doing that and again asked would she please just submit everything for pre authorization. Eventually she agreed and told me that she would. I hung up the phone feeling sick to my stomach at the idea that she was so angry that I just wanted to make sure that I understood all of the fees and wasn't mistakenly overcharged. Today, exactly two weeks later, I received a letter from my dental insurance that the group feels that it would be in everyone's best interest if I am not a patient there and that my insurance has reassigned me to another office. I absolutely cannot believe that this is the result of me essentially asking too many questions about what they were trying to bill me for. They are clearly a bunch of CROOKS and I will tell everyone I know to stay as far away from this practice as possible. This is actually a blessing because who knows how much I would have been overcharged had I not had the intelligence to simply try to understand what I was being billed for. read more
