The route to Court Street, Brooklyn was like an hour. Then, it was a quick 3-4 minute walk from the train station. I got there 10 minutes early before check-in time and there was no one in sight. Later on, I saw Riki and we went inside Hot 8 Yoga together. Other Yelp Elites started arriving as well. Everyone was being checked in by front desk staff and helped to make an account with name and email. We were then each given a yoga mat + shower towel (if we wanna take a shower after class) + sweat towel + thin cloth to place on top of the mat to rent just for the hot yoga class. Morlene came in right then to scan all the party passes and handed out a Yelp-themed sleep mask to each of us. All of us headed downstairs to the locker room area. We went to change. There were lockers both outside and inside the changing room. You set it with a 4-digit passcode and then lock it with the lock. The changing room has all the amenities - tampons + body lotion + body/face wash + organic deodorant + hair dryer + Q-tips etc. We left our phones and our shoes inside the locker. It was recommended that we don't bring the phone inside the yoga room to prevent heat damage. We did bring the yoga rental material by laying out the mats on the ground. We had our water bottles with us. Soha the yoga instructor began the 45-minute session shortly afterwards. She mentioned that if anyone shall have an injury, they should inform her at this time. She showed us an alternative way for certain poses. It turned out to be a small, intimate class with only fourteen attendees in total. The instructor encouraged us throughout the entire session. Overall, it was a great learning experience and workout. We cooled ourselves off with eucalyptus-infused hand towels from the fridge after yoga. Thank you so much towards the Brooklyn CM Morlene for the workout invite. Grateful for the Hot 8 Yoga venue and staff to host us for the event.

I've done other hot yoga classes and this one was unique from others. First of all, it's in Downtown Brooklyn which was easy for me to get to. The place was much larger than I expected with two floors. Also, the studio wasn't too hot. You feel the heat more gradually. The instructor Soha was great, her instructions were very clear and didn't go too fast or too slow. I would come back to try their other classes. Thanks to the Hot 8 Yoga staff and Morlene for the fun class!

My first Elite Brooklyn Event, My first Hot Yoga experience! Many firsts today. But it was all good times ~ I don't typically do yoga in general and the concept of Hot Yoga is not on the forefront of my mind. But when an opportunity presents itself, I would not say no. So, I made my way over to Brooklyn. I'm glad that I did this because I might never had tried it otherwise. The event was very organized. I feel like I was prepared coming in (with good to know information to start in the email) & prepared to start the class with all the supplies provided upon arrival - a rental mat/mat towel & small sweat towel (cause God knows I needed it). After check in, we were then lead downstairs to the lockers, women's changing room/bathroom, water refill station. Every area in the building was well-thought out cause it provided everything we needed prior/for/after the class. I got to secure my belongings & change before heading into the hot (100+F) studio room. During the class, the instructor taught like she was teaching a normal class. I feel like the class had a mix of all experience levels. I (as a beginner) didn't really know all the yoga terms or the typical flow of a yoga class & found myself looking around a lot, but she did also take her time explaining each step which was helpful. She did also walk around the room to guide us even further. She moved the class along in a very timely fashion. It was encouraged prior to the start for us to take our time to drink water & rest if needed. And so, I did. I felt like it was challenging in some ways, but not super difficult where I had to take a long break. Overall, I really enjoyed it. I find that yoga really centers on finding balance, inner rest & tapping into our own bodies/souls. I could appreciate it all. Doing it all in a heated room did make my whole body drenched in sweat, but it felt great knowing that it's all for improved health. I left the studio feeling super hot/sweaty & but grateful for this new experience. Thank you to the whole Hot 8 Yoga staff & Morlene for allowing me to be a part of this event!

Hot yoga has been on my list for a while, so I was excited to attend this Yelp Elite event at Hot 8 Yoga's Brooklyn studio. It was such a unique experience and a great way to step outside my comfort zone. The studio was immaculate. The practice rooms and changing facilities are located downstairs, and everything was clean, organized, and well maintained. We were provided with a rental yoga mat, a mat towel, a small sweat towel, and a full-size towel for showering afterward, which made the experience easy from start to finish. The hot yoga studio was heated to around 108°F, which definitely lived up to the name. I wasn't sure what to expect since it was my first hot yoga class, but Soha did an incredible job leading the session. Her instructions were clear and encouraging, and she created such a welcoming environment that I felt comfortable throughout the class, even as a beginner. A shoutout to Nathan as well, who checked everyone in, gave us a tour of the studio, explained the layout, and made sure we were ready before class. His friendly and helpful attitude set the tone for the entire visit. Thank you to the entire Hot 8 Yoga team and to Morlene for organizing such a fantastic Yelp Elite event. It was a fun, challenging, and rewarding experience, and I would absolutely come back for another class.

I love this studio! Whenever I get a chance I stop in for a sculpt class so I took advantage of the Yelp event today. I'm looking forward to my next class with Hot8. I forgot the instructor's name (sorry!), but she did a great job providing modifications for anyone with injuries or who needed them.

Had such a wonderful experience once again at hot 8 yoga studio! The space is beautifully designed and very serene and clean, which is everything for activities like this. The studio was a nice size and the class came with everything you'd need to participate which was amazing. The instructor seemed very knowledgeable and guided the class fairly well. Everything about this experience was a 10/10 that I'm seriously considering purchasing my own membership. Thank you so much again yelp and Morlene for being so wonderful!

I came here around noon and the place haven't been filled up yet but that was truly toward my benefit as my waiter, Jeff was extra attentive (yay me!). He offered me both brunch and regular menu and was very friendly and eager to assist me if I needed it. After making all my choices, he complimented and said I made good choices and whether if that was true or not, it made me felt happy. Lol. All of the food portion were huge. I ordered their wings as my appetizer, shrimp/bacon taco for entrée and tres leche for dessert. With that they also offered me some fresh fried taco with homemade salsa that was really delicious and made me wanting more even though I had to pace myself. Presentation wise, it was all instagramable. They restaurant is very conscious about presentation so that was a huge plus. As for taste, it was all good. I especially enjoy my shrimp/bacon taco as it was huge and those trio-side sauce (hot sauce, green sauce and pumpkin sauce) was just outright slamming. As for portion it was larger then life, especially for one person. Honestly I think it could feed two people as I ended up taking half of it home. Overall, I enjoyed myself, felt really relaxed, enjoyed their playlist and especially my waiter, Jeff that help tied my experience with Tiny Cantina in nicely. A bit bland. But the service was great. Our server was so nice. We got the highly instagramable pizza. It was lovely and very filling but couldn't done with a feels radishes. The space itself is great: cozy, dimly lit with soft music creating the perfect ambiance for conversation. It's intimate enough to feel special but versatile enough for gatherings of any size. I hade the opportunity to chat with Elliott, the owner, who explained to me that this place used to be a bodega, and the passion he put into creating this space which feels modern and cozy while keeping elements of the original bodega. Elliott's passion for wine was evident from his detailed introduction about the business and their offerings. Beyond hosting great events, The Franklin offers a generous happy hour schedule that makes it perfect for casual wine tastings. The whole concept - inside and out - is just wonderful. I can easily see hosting a private event here or stopping by for a relaxed evening with friends. We were treated to three wines (the Grillo and Rosé were my favorites) paired with three, veggie-centric small plates (to celebrate Vegetarian Awareness Month) that exceeded expectations. The bread and cheese plate, especially the cheese with jam, was absolutely delicious. The hummus was super-fluffy and light, and the salad with parmesan shavings were crisp, perfectly fresh, and beautifully executed. Huge thanks to Morlene, Erin, and the Yelp Team for organizing yet another wonderful event, and to Elliott and his staff for their incredible hospitality.
