    Iced hojicha latte
    Susan C.

Thanks to Lowboys Cafe, Yelp and Katey for this fantastic YEE! This was a generous offer of two free drinks--they were tasty and surely I'd stop by again! Arriving on a Sunday afternoon, the cafe wasn't busy with no one in line or waiting for a drink. It's a small location, a counter within Dumbo Market (grocery store), a grab-and-go spot for sure. Decor is clean white quartz counters with bronze and wood trims, classy with a cute logo of their box mascot with a balloon. Shoutout to the manager/staff who checked me in, she explained that drinks were size small for the event though when I said I'd pay to upgrade to a large she said not to worry about it and gave a large anyways. Thanks for also customizing the ice level (I asked for half ice)! We ordered: - iced pandan matcha latte with oat milk: love me a good pandan latte and this one was refreshing on a warm day. Not too sweet which I appreciated. Sufficient pandan flavor for an iced drink. - iced hojicha latte: good hojicha flavor, a little lighter tea profile than I prefer though still good. Thanks again for this wonderful opportunity to try your drinks! I'm planning to come back for another pandan matcha latte soon!

Located inside dumbo market, it's right at the front near the entrance. It's a small counter space, there's no seating available. There's several options for coffee and tea (hot or iced) and a couple pastries. I got the blueberry iced matcha and my friend got blueberry iced latte. We both enjoyed our drinks, not too sweet nor bitter. I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this cafe but it's a solid option if I'm already in the area.

Wonderful coffee shop with cool menu. I got a decaf pandan latte and caramel latte. Pandan latte had great flavor. Was a little sweeter than I personally prefer but enjoyed. The caramel latte was very tasty and not nearly as sweet as you'd think. Staff was super wonderful and helpful. Big fan of this place and event.

Must try: Hawaiian Iced Latte and Pandan Iced Latte! Why: Both of these were sweet deliciousness to kick start my morning! The Hawaiian Iced Latte was macadamia and coconut flavors. Pandan Iced Latte was more subtle in flavor but also amazing. Loved both drinks! Notes: Had no idea Lowboys Cafe was located inside Dumbo Market. So glad this was a Yelp Experience because I'm definitely coming back to try their other unique lattes and matcha flavors. They have seasonal drinks too, which all sounded wonderful. Workers were welcoming, friendly, helpful, and fast. Thanks Yelp team!

I cannot rave enough about this place! It was my first time coming to Lowboy Cafe which was located inside a supermarket. It wasn't hard to find but I had almost missed it. I tried the honey vanilla latte based on reviews raving about it. I would say this was one of my favorite drinks, it was not too sweet, and not too subtle in a good way! I could taste both the honey and the vanilla, and the coffee was so fragrant. The staff was also very on top of their game, despite being in a small section of the market. I would highly recommend and would come again during one of my afternoon strolls!

Stopped by LowBoys Cafe inside DUMBO Market on the UES for the wonderful yelp experience event and really enjoyed the refreshing drinks! My husband ordered their Cold Brew Lemonade and I ordered the Jasmine Tea Lemonade. Both were great for a hot summer day, especially the Jasmine Tea Lemonade. I really like that you can choose the type of tea for the tea lemonade, which makes it easy to customize it to your preference. We can also customize our sugar level. I ordered 25% sugar and it was just perfect and it was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet. The lemonade also seemed like there's some bubbles so it was definitely a plus for the summer. My husband said it made his cold brew taste like espresso in tonic which he all enjoyed very much. The staff were also extremely friendly and patient with me while I took my time deciding what to order. They were welcoming and made the whole experience even better. A great little spot to grab a refreshing drink when you're in the area!

Stopped in in the morning for the event and Lowboys is stationed right at the entrance to Dumbo Market! There's not much seating since it's in the market, but the space is well kept. The cashier was really friendly and recommended the Earl Grey matcha -- I liked it, though the taste of earl grey was a tad on the subtle side. I also went with an iced pandan latte, which was just the right amount of sweet, and both the pandan and coffee flavor came through well.

Lowboys is located by the entrance of Dumbo Market on 2nd Ave and 64th St. For this event, my +1 and I had a choice of any drink on the menu. I opted for the Iced Pandan latte which reminded me of matcha but lighter. My husband got the Iced Mandarin Mocha with a hint of orange, a bit sweet. Those ice cold drinks were perfect on that warm day we went there. Thanks to Katey, Yelp and Lowboys!

I visited on a weekday, and the staff were kind and helpful. They have a huge selection of teas and coffees, and you can even customize your drinks. They had pastries, too! Since it's located inside Dumbo Market, it's great to be able to enjoy a coffee while you shop.

I loved this event! I would never have found this coffee shop because of its location but I'm so glad I have! They have very cool flavors. I got the cold brew lemonade and the pandan latte! Both were so delicious! I highly recommend

Thank you Katie and NYC Yelp for the opportunity to try this new coffee spot! Lowboys' second location is on 64th and 2nd, only a short couple blocks from the 4, 5, 6, N, R, W, M, and Q trains - with that convenience everyone should be giving this new location a try. The cafe is a small area immediately when you enter Dumbo Market, and there was a clear sandwich board advertising Lowboys outside on the corner. For a Saturday morning, the team that was moving drinks and food out quickly enough there was no time for a long line to build up. I got the Hawaiian latte with almond milk, and loved the coconut-almond nutty flavor it added. It was naturally very sweet so I recommend doing a taste test before you habitually add any Splenda or honey to your drinks.

These bagels were yummy regardless, knowing I had a hand in making these delightful gems was really cool! It is really more effort than it seems to make these shapely bagels, after rolling 5-6 bagels each, we took our shapely creations to the bagel cook space to be boiled, spiced, and baked. Everyone had a try at either flipping them into the hot boiling water, scooping them out, or spicing the bagels. Total team effort under the watchful eye of Rory! The next part of the tour involved an inside scoop into the kitchen space, the fridge where bagels proof, a bagel historical lesson, and finally some little known facts on bagels which was really enlightening. Walking into the restaurant there's a separate entrance for Taverna off of 37th Street, and the entrance for Nizuc (the Mexican restaurant that shares the location with Taverna) is on 10th Avenue. The Taverna side is lit brighter (in the evenings at least) and has more of a Mediterranean aesthetic with blue and white decor and medium-toned wood. Shoutout to the staff for terrific service! They were very prompt with seating me as soon as I arrived and mentioned that I had a reservation for 7pm for two. Further the overall dining experience went very smoothly and our waiter (sorry I forgot your name!) was very friendly and helpful, he gets a 6th star for himself! We ordered-- 1) Grilled octopus: cooked perfectly, super tender with a light char, pickled onions, (supposedly roasted) tomatoes and capers went well with it. It sat on a bed of mash vegetable or bean and I couldn't quite put my finger on it though it was good. The tomatoes didn't seem to be roasted, just cut and placed on the plate, which was fine by us. The one thing with this dish was it was very salty, if they could reduce the amount of salt by about 1/3 it would've been better. 2) Lamb Chops w/mediterranean salad, lemon potatoes, pita bread: we asked for medium which was the recommended cook level and again perfect! So good, one of the better preparations I've enjoyed. Thumbs up! I really liked the lemon potatoes that came with it, lemony and bright. The Mediterranean salad for both entrees was fresh and crunchy with cucumbers, red onions and tomatoes. 3) Steak Kebab Platter mediterranean salad, pita bread, tzatziki, and choice of rice pilaf (or hand-cut fries): another successful dish! I asked for medium rare on the beef kebabs and they came out just right, the right amount of pink on the inside. Tender and juicy with good seasoning. Rice pilaf fluffy and delicious. Pita bread for both entrees was warm and soft. 4) for dessert Portokalopita - orange sponge cake with honey: delicious, flaky crumb which is kinda different than the sponge crumb in more Western European sponge cakes, soaked with honey syrup and topped with a piece of candied orange peel. A little bit of a sweeter dessert than I'm used to, would be good with a black coffee. 5) for drinks we had a glass of: - Amethystos, Savignon Blanc, Assyrtiko: crisp, notes of peach, mango, citrus and a mineral finish, this one was decent, coming from someone who's not an oenophile. - Julia, Agiorgitiko: notes of vibrant red berries with a tad spiciness, mid-level tannins, went great with the grilled beef. Thanks again to Taverna and Yelp for this delicious meal! So yummy in my tummy =D

Beer, Bourborn, and BBQ 2012 - what the hell happened last night?…read more Good God, exactly how much booze did I drink last night? I honestly don't even remember leaving or saying goodbye to anyone. My bad, but when one is presented with a ridiculously unlimited amount of good craft beers and terrific bourbons your mind kinda gets erased. My hangover has finally subsided and the JACKHAMMER has been removed from my brain. I do have to say right off the bat that I think they oversold the event a bit this year. Sure, it was packed, and very crowded, but not so much so that you could not get a glass of beer or bourbon quickly throught the venue. Our group drank A LOT before we even decided to get some grub in our bellies. We even hit up a bourbon tasting class where one who shall remain nameless pretty much spilled everything onto her crotch. I even bought a viking helmet hat to wear. Drunken fun times! The food lines were another story - ridiculously long and slow moving. Sure, I had some decent pulled pork from one stand right out of a pig carcass, but the best was from the Kloby's BBQ booth where the line was the longest. Gotta give it to Monique R for holding her ground on that long line amid some drunken fools and line cutters to secure a few plates of amazingly tasty hush puppies, pulled pork and coleslaw sandwiches, and pork rib wings. Worth the wait even though it cut into our drinking time, but we needed to eat something to help soak up all the alcohol. Our group had a great time. There were so many terrific beers and bourbons on hand. Many of the staff would even fill your tasting glass to the brim. All you could consume for four hours - wonderful or insanity - it's all how you look at it. So worth it when paying half price, 2 for 1 tickets, or discounted tickets. You have to be a noob to pay full price for any of these events as there are always offers on different websites with big discounts. But to charge $3 for the coat check is kind of a money grab, even though it was nice to ditch our heavy winter gear. We came, we drank, we ate pork, we pillaged and plundered. Looking forward to doing it all over again next year. Oh, and kids, here's a tip for you all. When you are totally blasted outta your mind on bourbon and beer it's not really a great time for an Italian-Norwegian to fight with your Russian-Polish fiance' out on the street. There is just too much stubborn hard headedness in that combination for any good to come out of it.

A great event if you enjoy beer, bourbon, barbecue or all 3! You get unlimited food and alcohol for…read more4 hours at either session you go to. Like every food tasting event you go to in NYC, get there early and hit up all the food lines before they get really long later on (usually 2 hrs in). Plus you need food to soak all the alcohol you're going to drink. The highlight of the night was definitely the whole hog. They also have brisket, pork belly, bacon, fried chicken/waffles, wings, bread pudding, and cornbread. There were definitely more beer vendors than bourbon vendors. The beers were mainly local from New York and East Coast breweries. I liked the high end bourbons since they went down smoother and didn't totally burn my throat. You will definitely eat and drink enough in the time so then you go home to pass out from barbecue coma.
