We hired Cory Greenless for a kitchen remodel that included a custom slat island, floor tiles,…read morecabinetry paint , sink installation, backsplash work, and coordination of countertop fabrication and installation. While he was personable throughout the project, the workmanship and project management issues ultimately became significant enough that we had to terminate the project before completion. Multiple concerns were identified throughout the remodel involving measurements, alignment, finish quality, and attention to detail. The island slat installation had inconsistent spacing and sizing issues that required substantial corrective work by the homeowner before it could even be prepared for paint. Appliance openings and surrounding areas were also left out of square and required additional correction. Several issues were pointed out during the project as they arose, both verbally and by text. Some areas were revisited more than once in attempts to correct prior installation problems. Despite this, alignment and fitment concerns remained unresolved. The countertop process became another major issue. The original countertop fabricator associated with the project was replaced after significant problems involving measurement and planning failures, including a planned overhang that was not properly accounted for during fabrication preparation. After that fabricator was removed from the project, the quote information was later shared with another fabricator. An independent countertop fabricator later refused to proceed with templating due to the condition and alignment issues present at the project site at that time. This occurred before termination of the contractor. After termination, the contractor repeatedly claimed he was not given an opportunity to address the issues, despite prior correction attempts and ongoing discussions during the project. He also repeatedly minimized the problems by stating some corrections would have taken "10-15 minutes" to fix. However, statements like that only reinforced our concern that conditions requiring additional correction should have been properly completed during the original installation process. Ultimately, we lost confidence in the project's workmanship and management and had to terminate the project and move forward with additional corrective work ourselves in order to continue the kitchen renovation. We are still in the process of resolving the financial portion of this dispute. Attached is a video of us correcting the "minor" issues.
