Hoosier Custom Cabinet Designs - Mounted sink to the front of the cabin redesign the top

And Victor of Hoosier Custom Cabinet Designs is as good as my father ever was. We hired him six years ago after seeing all the custom cabinets he built in his own home in Mount Dora. Our home was built in 1963 and our plan was to preserve the vintage look of the original cabinets in our bathroom and kitchen. Not only did Victor improve my original cabinet design, he added lots of ingenious storage areas in a very tight bathroom. The install was seamless and no one has ever guessed which cabinet is original and which is brand new. The only way to see the difference is when you open a drawer, as Victor utilized the new ball bearing drawer slides. There was a small issue with a router profile that Victor promptly and happily fixed. Fast forward to 2019...time to finally redo the kitchen. One problem, previous owners had removed a lower cabinet to install a dishwasher...something we don't use. Since the original cabinets were in place, solidly built and totally functional, we needed a cabinet made to EXACTLY replicate the existing cabinets. Victor to the rescue once again. He actually did several design consultations with me and offered the perfect cabinet drawer spacing and MATCHED to a 't' the 1963 cabinets. I did have to knock down the corners of the drawer fronts to match the old cabinets, but otherwise no problems. He and his installer Tony expertly shortened two upper cabinets in order for a taller refrigerator and over the stove microwave/vent. In an older home you never know what you're gonna run in to...but they both worked together and solved numerous issues so the redo would go smoothly. Sometimes I can be indecisive, but Victor was very patient when I changed my mind a couple of times on a minor issue. It all worked out wonderfully and we are THRILLED with the finished product. Topnotch craftsman. My dad would be proud.

It is hard to find dependable and honest people these days. Jason did some work on one of my rental property in Ocala after water damage. He installed LVP flooring, kitchen cabnet, and new kitchen sink and plumbing. He went above and beyond to take care of things. I had got several other quotes, and none of the people seem responsible. The way Jason communicated and how he was straight fwd is what made me hire him for the project. Jason would be on speed dial for my next projects. I highly recommend him for his amazing service and quality of work. Great handy man and great work!

He communicated well and appeared to be both courteous and professional. He also has several good online reviews. After considering our options we decided to go with Jason. The project consisted of two bathrooms and a kitchen renovation. The estimated time for completion that Jason gave was 3-weeks. Jason began work on the 6th of January, and I was under the impression that things were going well. It's also important to note that we were not present during the project, so I depended on phone calls, texts, and photos to get an idea of how things were going. Once the demo work was completed, things began to slow down significantly. The guest bathroom took a lot of time, and it wasn't "completed" until January 31st. Now I will refer to the photos included with this review. Words can't describe how terrible his work is. He has already cost us several thousands of dollars, and now we must get a professional to come in and rip out the tile completely and start from scratch. Every company that came out was shocked at what they saw. I gave Jason multiple opportunities to correct this issue, but the results were the same. He can't do tile work, and he damaged the vanity top we just purchased. His measurements for other project were also inaccurate and we had to have other companies come in to get accurate measurements. I even changed the scope of work to eliminate the bathroom projects and give him yet another opportunity, but in the end; he walked off the job and accused me of being unreasonable. He left early often but alleged that he put in several hours. This is irrelevant. We don't care about the schedule if the deadline is met. When we were there this past weekend, he left around 3:00pm while we were at Home Depot and said he was going to Lowe's to get supplies. The next morning, he texted me and said he was in checkout at Lowe's. We asked him to send a list of action items to be completed by the end of the next working day, but he couldn't complete his own list. That same day, I scheduled a contractor go over and give me a price on completing the master bath and fixing the mess in the guest bath. When the contractor arrived, Jason opened the door and spoke with the contractor. He then called me and let me know that the gentleman was there. I told him that I wanted to contractor to look at both bathrooms and give me an estimate. Later that day, I spoke to the contractor, and he said Jason told him to look at both bathrooms and give a quote for two vanities only! When I spoke to Jason, about this, he alleged that the contractor said he was from and cabinet company. The contractor assured me that was not the case, and when I asked him what he thought about the work done in the guest bath he said, "it was terrible." We're angry, disappointed, and frustrated. Nevertheless, all I can say is "caveat emptor" anyone reading this should look elsewhere for a contractor. Jason is unreliable, unskilled, and unqualified. Based on our experience with him, I have no idea how anybody could give him a good review. The photos speak for themselves, and we don't want anyone else to be a victim.

Junior came out and met with us and somehow managed to translate my insane ramblings about shadowboxes and faux islands into exactly what I was wanting. He was able to make some recommendations for things I would have never even thought of (moving our stove down a few inches for extra drawers and building our fridge into the cabinets so we have more over fridge storage) and had our drawings to us immediately. He was up front about the pricing and we were able to pick and choose from options that met our needs but kept us within budget. The only real snag we hit was when my husband decided to go out on his own for places to buy granite from, but once we shopped from the list that Junior had given us things went a lot smoother. I was impressed with how organized everything was throughout the entire planning process. Junior gave us a timeline on when our work could begin and things went according to plan. The crew was friendly and worked really hard, they kept things as neat as you can expect from a kitchen remodel. Given everything I hear from other folks that have done kitchen remodels, I was braced for a lot of pain and delays, so I am pleased to report that things actually went faster than expected once I understood that the granite takes about a week to have cut after the cabinets are installed. I am so happy with my new kitchen, it is literally my dream come true. I cannot rave enough about Junior and the team from I4. =)

He asked me to send pictures and measurements and that he would be out the next day. 30 mins before he was suppose to be there, he called with a price over $9000 the highest estimate that I received. We talked about differences, and I mentioned that we had terrazzo so we did not want tile. He did not know what terrazzo was. I told him thank you, I was not interested in the estimate and hung up. I am sorry but if a estimator/designer in FL does not know what terrazzo is, I have issues since this is the most common flooring that was used in the older homes.
