The 20mil poly was now serving as a pool liner to the deluge of water that had occurred. In order to help move the water out, that liner had to be cut out and then the ground had to dry out before figuring out how to replace it. After contacting a few other companies, I met with Sebastian from HomeStrong. He walked through our crawl space (5' high) and determined how to best repair and get the place back to its original condition. We chose HomeStrong because Sebastian made us feel comfortable, showed us what we could expect and gave us a team who could get the job done the following week. And the pricing was very competitive. Also, it is a family owned company - having our own family business, we really like supporting other families with businesses too. We could not be happier with the results. The project took a little more than 3 days. The team - Daniel & Christian - took such great pride in their work that once the poly was installed, they took their shoes off every time to keep the ground clean! And the encapsulation is even BETTER than it was before. The products they use are top notch. AND the color is WHITE which makes everything look so clean!! A side note here: Not having had exposed ground under our home before, the difference in the humidity and coolness in the house was directly impacted by that exposed ground, even after drying it out for a month prior to reinstalling the encapsulation system. We had a difficult time getting the house to cool less than 73º. Once poly was replaced, the house immediately cooled down and was much more comfortable. Had no idea the impact the encapsulation had been providing! A big shout out and thank you to Sebastian, Daniel & Christian for helping us get our crawl space even better than before! The GOOD: work crew was (mostly) efficient, on time, and the end product was high quality; a great improvement over former mid-2000's cookie-cutter bath. Based only on workmanship and final quality, it'd be 5/5 stars. But...the BAD...(-1 star): They didn't cap the plumbing before turning on water, so the bathroom flooded. Water dripped into basement for 24+ hours. Crew helped some in cleanup but, really?! And we got the wrong floor, but there's no way to prove it wasn't right so no -star (hint: take pics of final selections before signing anything); HP offered to replace with extra $1200 for labor, so declined ...and the UGLY...(-1 star): They broke a full size mirror that took several calls and contacts before getting a reluctant "we'll replace it"...in 60 days or so. I paid OOP to fix the messy wall (no compensation). They also 'replaced' a nice oak threshold with a flimsy plastic one that doesn't cover where floor and carpet meet, and the new floor is peeling up there. They've known for weeks about this but no follow-up to correct it. I paid for a finished bathroom; 2+ months later, it's still not. TL/DR: good quality materials and final product, but mistakes and lack of follow-up + poor customer service (-1 star) makes it a 2-star review.
