At times, we…read morehave driven a half hour out of our way, there, another half hour back, JUST because our moves needed to accommodate this one location. Why? It is the teachers indeed that make a school of martial arts. The style of Tang Soon Do (Empty Hand Way) is the primary school taught here, however, the teachers are invariably schooled to the expert level and have been for several years in more than one martial art, which adds an intense and flexible like water) background to each teacher. Each teacher has been essential to the education of my two children, a girl age 10 and a half, and son, age eight. Each teacher has a different style and is more or less strict in varying areas of the discipline and this balances out the teachings to perfection. We follow a curriculum an system that has been in constant review and takes into account statistics of all the schools and so the corporate aspect of this Pro Martial Arts is not any sort of limitation, but instead makes for a high golden standard, and somehow thee kids and adults, too - they all rise to the occasion. I have seen over these few years several children and adults come through and change and grow as human beings. Parents are involved in a different way than the other activities we have been involved in. Everyone knows if there is a problem that maybe we could get help for it or find a solution. We are like a family and are consistently working together to become better human beings. I have never come across another extra-curricular activity like this one at this particular location in Lake Orion. The Leadership in the Curriculum choices, and in the involvement in the community to make it a better place for everyone is unparalleled, and both of my children are in Scouting, too. This is simply the most sincere activity/method/location in every way for my two children. hey both are so different, yet both of my kids love it and feel that the school is a second home to them. Thank you for fortifying the character of both my daughter and son, and especially for your Teaching Program that has allowed my daughter to begin to fulfill her long-time goal of teaching in the martial arts.

We have been members for that last 6+ years (and have been part of other dojos in the past for some comparisons). It has given my children increased confidence and self esteem that would not have been possible without the amazing instructors and staff at DMA. The lessons they have taught my kids have really helped them grow. They not only teach the physical aspects of martial arts, but principles and thought leadership behind it. It has had an amazing impact on the students. We are also part of their Leadership program which teaches how to connect with people in a meaningful way, bring out the best in our students and become leaders themselves. As a parent, and seasoned leader for decades, have found great value from our sensei's leadership program. I have found lifelong friends, incredible motivation to stay active and healthy, and motivation to keep pursing black belt excellence. I cannot speak highly enough of the positive impact that Dynamic Martial Arts has had on my family's lives.

We were able to try Dynamic Martial Arts for 3 sessions before we committed to anything. We wanted to be sure our son liked it, but we also wanted to make sure it was worth the money for a regular membership. My son got along really well with the instructor in his initial sessions. We decided to keep coming back. This dojo charges $80/mo for its instruction. Let me assure you, Sensei Jon Davis created an awesome youth program for the Little Dragons and my son couldn't be happier. The staff is always on time and they offer make up sessions if your schedule doesn't allow for attending your regular class (gotta love flexibility). The environment is always clean and organized. There is a little commotion from the zumba class next door, but it hardly seems like a distraction due to the incredible teaching skills of Sensei Davis and his staff. I can't say enough good things about this dojo. The hard work and dedication to the art is obvious and you can't help but feel great respect for the traditions of karate. I can't comment on any other practices of this dojo except the youth program (Little Dragons). They do have much more to offer so if you're interested in this sort of thing, stop in and you will be greeted with a friendly face. ~ strik9

Makes people feel extremely alienated. I don't know why he wants to insult his members. I would think he would be more inclusive. I had a friend who left the gym for this reason. Didn't want to give money to someone who was constantly trying to insult them. Overall, I recommend the gym if your looking for a reasonably priced place to workout and don't mind a gym that hasn't been cleaned in years or being insulted if you don't have the exact same opinions as the owner. The best part is half of the "insults" he posts do not even make any sense..... If the place was cleaned regularly and if the owner realized his business model isn't based on his personal beliefs it'd be a really great gym.

The owner was an egotistical jerk, rude, attitudinal, answerd your question as if you were bothersome, watched ever move you make which made my workout experience so uncomfortable. I brought my trainer in one day and he was very upset with the owner approach, I tried to defend him but he stated that he's had over 10 memberships at many gyms and never encounterd a douchebag like him. Therefore I apologized for his behavior. Keep in mind his $30 special has been available for over 4yrs and theres a reason for that. Join at your own risk.
