My daughter has been studying Karate here for almost 2 years now. She loves it. Her self confidence is very high. In school she has become a leader and positive influence on other students. She has grown from a shy 7 year old with a fear of new things into an confident adventurer. Some of this may be normal growth but much of it is related to her training at Elite with a great instructor. Martial Arts is a lifetime commitment and the instructors at Elite understand this. They teach the individual student, helping them move forward and feel the progression themselves so they stay interested and motivated. They teach standard stances, distancing, kicking, and punching; self defence throws, escapes, and breaks; ground techniques for defence and escapes; Weapons styles (bo staff and nunchucks), Hand to hand and weapons forms. They light to medium contact spar in protective gear several times a month. The sparring is really what brings it together for the kids. They gain so much confidence when they began stepping in the circle. There are many belts but as far as I can tell only 4 real levels, beginner (learning basics), Intermediate (improving techniques and forms), advanced (preparing for black), and expert (black). The belts serve as training markers for the instructors and motivational awards for the children. All of this is great, but what I like most about this studio is that they care about the children. They understand that a child may be late but that is more likely the parents fault then the child's. They help children rather then discipline them when they are unable to perform a particular technique or form. Discipline only shows up when a child gets out of line with another student or an instructor. This rarely happens and I have never seen a severe occurrence. While the students might end up doing a few pushups as a group because they didn't Kia loud enough, individual discipline is rarely needed because the students at this school learn to respect their instructors, peers, and other adults. I also like that they hold occasional Friday night activities for students to get together in a non-training mode and get to know each other and have fun doing activities and playing games while parents go out for dinner or just relax. The instructors here also teach adult classes and go regularly to training events to keep their own skills at a high level. You will pay a small premium for this school but it is well worth it to be able to leave your children with excellent instructors you know are kind and trustworthy. read more

I started going to Krav Maga Elite Training center in Puyallup about 10 weeks ago and it was by far the best decision I've ever made!! I drive by this place often and always wondered what they offered as far as an exercise plan but never made an attempt to go in. Then I saw an advertisement for a 6 week challenge and decided this was it! I filled out the inquiry online, made an appointment and went in to meet the owner, saw a video and signed up! ... I couldn't be happier with..EVERYTHING-from the awesome staff to the location and the clean center! Our trainer Amber is amazing! She truly cares about her clients, pushes us hard, and holds us accountable! The best part? It's so much fun and she always changes up our workout. Not only do I feel awesome when I go to class but I'm starting to feel awesome about myself and my overall well being. They even worked out a payment plan when I started my second round which was great for my pocket book! I love it so much I'm signing up for a 3rd time! I'm truly addicted. Elite Martial Arts Center is awesome! I just finished my first 6 week "Get Fit" Challenge, and I feel amazing! Initially, I did not think I could do a class like this. I'm 46 years old, a mother of 3 and am NOT in shape. I've run lightly on the treadmill, but otherwise get all my activity attending kids' soccer games. This class was exactly what I needed! Amber and Christie gave the perfect amount of challenge to keep me motivated in class. I never felt too overwhelmed, but I felt PUSHED the whole time, and believe me by body felt pushed as well. I can definitely see structural changes taking place in my body, and I feel good! I'm on to my 2nd 6-week session and am so excited about continuing to see progress. The whole team here is terrific, and the ladies who participate are friendly and encouraging! There is a strong sense of camaraderie that keeps me looking forward to every Monday, Wednesday and Friday! I can't say enough good things about this place! The staff is amazing, the classes are fun and challenging, the price is fair, and the location is conveniently located (for me). Amber and Christie are great instructors and genuinely care about your experience. Workouts can be tailored to your fitness level and they are always there to help with individual struggles such as accommodating injuries and learning correct form. I have done two of the bootcamp-style challenges and plan to sign up for my third in January. I've lost 25lbs and ~5 inches overall so if you're looking to lose weight and get healthier this is a great place to start! The small class size is great for getting more of a personal training experience even though it's a group setting. It's also a great way to meet people, and the classes are so fun! read more

I signed my daughter up for Krav Maga at Elite Martial Arts at the end of her 2nd grade year and all of 3rd grade. I was SUPER impressed with the patience of the instructors with the shyer kiddos like my daughter. If you are looking for your child to learn discipline, and SELF DEFENSE, THIS is the place for you. If you want pomp and circumstance, breaking boards and tradition, then go with another style. Krav Maga is far superior for the real world. We had to move in 2014 and I signed up my daughter for Taekwondo. I was SO disappointed. Too much pomp and flash. The instructor didn't compare to everyone at Elite. Elite is structured and organized which I love. I HIGHLY recommend Elite Martial Arts. We miss it immensely! I really can't fathom anyone not giving them a good review. read more

I just completed my first six week challenge and loved It so much that I am already signed up for the next one. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming and I felt right at home from the very beginning. I have tried many places out over the years and this is by far my favorite! The instructors are very knowledgeable and encouraging and do a great job at keeping us motivated to work hard yet still have fun at the same time. There is a lot of variety in our workouts so it is never dull or boring and I have learned so much that I can take with me and do at home as well. These classes have helped me in getting back on track with my fitness goals and I am pleased with the results. I highly recommend trying them out! read more

My 2 kids have attended the kids classes for 3-4 years, as well as my husband attending the adult Krav Maga classes, and I had attended the Kickboxing Classes. The instructors are knowledgeable in the skills and very good at explaining. We have known Amber as an instructor for many years, and we would never take our kids to another place. There were times when other kids in the class were a distraction and Amber handled it very well. The truth is, teaching Martial Arts to children is a team effort. The parents need to be just as involved. Kids are kids, and they need to experience the fun and joy that comes with discipline. Elite Martial Arts has that balance down to an art. read more

Our experience was with the kids' program. The kids' program is age appropriate and focuses most on teaching the base skills that are required to become successful in Martial Arts.. Discipline, focus, respect! My son, who is on the Autism Spectrum had several challenges during our time with this Center but the entire team has always been very warm and welcoming and (most importantly) tried to do what it takes to help him be successful without making him feel any different from the group. We had to quit only because my son was just not quite ready yet but once he is and he wants to learn karate, Elite Martial Arts we will be our choice, no doubt! read more

I LOVE this studio! If you're looking to lose some weight and get in shape their 6 week get fit challenge is where its at! Im on my 4th challenge and I have lost a ton of weight and inches. The trainers, Amber and Christie, are AMAZING and are willing to help you anyway they can. You can tell they genuinely care about your success. The workouts are challenging but fun and in the 21 weeks I've been attending I think I can safely say we've not done the same workout twice which I love because it keeps things fresh. I have been going to Elite Martial Arts Training center now for about 2 months. I have been looking for years for a place like this where I can go sweat and not feel judged and just kick some butt. I have been working out at Elite since January of this year, doing the "Fitness Challenge ". I have always enjoyed working out. But... I actually look forward to my classes. Not only have I noticed a change in my strength and endurance, but I've also learned techniques to protect myself if I'm ever put in a compromising situation. Been doing the get fit challenge for 11 weeks now and I love it. Amber is an amazing instructor. I am getting so much stronger and fit. It's incredible that I actually look forward to sweating my butt off. The women's fitness group is full of women of all sizes and fitness levels with no feeling of judgement. It's more expensive than a regular gym but for me, I would never work this hard on my own. I would really recommend this place. The KM classes for men are great too. read more

She simultaneously develops his leadership abilities by having him work with others in the class who have less experience. He has gained confidence and focus.
