I absolutely loved how my nails came out. I got my nails done by Sandra who is super nice. She's very detailed with her work, so she takes her time and honestly it was worth it because my nails are perfectly shaped. I suggest making an appointment and don't go if you're in a rush. I came in with a full set from my previous nail salon and so I did a soak off and did acrylic over my own nails. This is definitely my new go-to place. So I've been here twice and my overall take has been that the quality of the service you receive varies based on who you actually get your nails done by (as is the case with wherever you go lol). However, in general this place is decent and worth the visit compared to the other nearby salons in Parkchester. The first time I came here was back in February and my most recent visit was two weeks ago. Both times I've been here, I had acrylics done at another salon. So I had to get them soaked off first. The first time I came here I went for a small simple French tip look with acrylics. I don't recall who did my nails but she wasn't around the second time I came by (she must have had the day off). But the first time I came here, my nail stylist did such a wonderful job, she was so meticulous and careful with my nails. Please see the picture below of the French. I got so many compliments for the nails. The second and most recent time I came here, I opted for a simple red gel on my natural nails. The person who did my nails was not nearly as detailed or careful, she nicked my cuticles twice. But the nails did come out great immediately after she was done. However, I have to admit not even 3 days later my nails did chip and break (on 3 fingers) but it's okay. For the price I paid, it's not a big deal at all. If I still lived in NYC, I would most definitely be coming here regularly but only in the condition I see and scout out my go to person to take care of me. If you come here for a walk in, it's going to be a hit or miss depending on how busy the salon is. read more

First time visiting this salon and I was presently surprised. I usually go as far as brooklyn to do my nails so it was nice finding a decent place near to home. I found the salon to be clean, spacious, and well decorated. The pedicure bowl was lined with plastic and new file and buff were used. I came mid day on a Saturday and was seen immediately. My husband and I both had basic manicure/pedicures, mine with polish, and we were both satisfied with the experience. My only cons are that there is no pricing/service list readily available, the polishes while having a multitude of colors are only from one brand, they do not accept cards but do have an atm on the premises, and that the tech didn't properly apply my polish and so my mani has begun to chip faster than usual. After inquiring about pricing I was given a booklet for pedicures, but nothing on manicures. Verbally, I was told basic manicures are $15 and basic pedicures are $35. I will be visiting again as I love to support local businesses and hope to see them make the small adjustments that would make them a five star salon. FYI, your sign in using a tablet apparently it's to keep track of reward points, but I wasn't given an explanation on how they work. read more

Have been here a couple of times. The place itself is clean. I've gotten a basic manicure and pedicure done. The only issues I have is when they cut my cuticles on my feet; they cut way too deep and on one occasion my toe was bleeding. Yikes. There's also a language barrier, as other reviewers said. Even when I revisited them again and told them not to cut my cuticles, they did it anyway. When I did get chips on my nail polish (regular manicure) a few days later, they were willing to fix it at no charge. Also, they take cash only. Disappointed. Stumbled upon this place since I was in the neighborhood doing volunteer work and was in desperate need of a manicure. That evening I was going on a date with my husband and some other couples and a little tlc was needed. The place is spacious with many tables so you'll be seated quickly. Along with being seated quickly, the service is just as fast. I asked for a solid 1 color gel polish and that was for $25. A regular manicure was $15 so I opted for the extra $10 since I know gel lasts almost two weeks. Well, well, well, was I wrong. I did my nails on Friday 02/14 at around 1 pm and by Monday 02/17, they were all chipped! Literally! I knew the tech didn't do a good job when she quickly passed the gel polish and didn't finish the ends. Why did I stay shut? I have no clue! To mention, the manicure part was terrible! She left my cuticle line uneven with choppy skin. Didn't look clean at all! $30 later and my nails looked like what's pictured below at day 3. So day 4, I couldn't accept the fact that I paid $25 plus a $5 tip for a service that didn't meet my expectations. I called and a woman named vivienne said I could come in and redo my gel with the same person. If another person did my nails they would have to charge $25 again! So I went in the following day and they looked at my nails and the tech asked when did I came in and I said Friday, she said yea? Your manicure doesn't look fresh though and I told her well, that's because you did a poor job. I was so thankful to have saved my receipt because she almost imposed that I didn't get my nails done so early! Anywho, she did them over on 2/18, and by 2/21 they're chipped again. Lol. I give up. I don't man handle my hands. Idk what technique they do, or type of polish they use but for $25 for a chipped gel manicure? No thanks. So, it's no wonder this place was empty when I went. I needed to get my nails done for a wedding and this place happened to be close to me. I went in a week early to make sure they had the colors I needed. Gold for my toes and then gold chrome for my nails. Come in the following week for my appointment. 1- they don't even have regular gold nail polish I had to end up getting glitter gold (it was on my feet so not too bad). 2- they get to doing my manicure. The lady is searching and searching for the gold chrome. And initially didn't find any. (Mind you I confirmed they had the color. After 5 minutes she finally finds it. Apparently the ladies in the salon only speak Spanish, or mostly Spanish. The one doing my nails, was saying she never did this before. She did the nails, and truthfully they looked like I could have did them at my house. (This was the day before I was leaving for this wedding and I had no other options). Fast forward 2 days, that damn polish chipping already. ‍ never again. Only reason I went to a salon was so the polish could last. And no I wasn't doing anything crazy to mess up the nails. Overall, the space is beautiful. Really clean marble floors, cute decor, and such. HOWEVER....This place really needs to teach its staff to have more professionalism! I recently went for my second visit, which will be my absolute last. First, I called to inquire when they took their last appointment on Saturdays. They asked that I make an appointment before coming in, fine. When I arrived, I had to wait about 10 minutes. Fine; not sure what the purpose of making an appointment if I would have wait, but whatever. My service began and as the nail tech was cutting my toenail cuticles, I noticed the sight of blood. When I complained, another worker brushed it off as if it was no big deal. This other worker translated and was VERY rude. Uh, that's how infections begin. I get my nails done every two weeks, and this ain't normal. I asked if someone else could service me in which they said it would be a 45 minute wait. She then brushed me off as if they didn't need my business and I left. No one would share who the owner or manager were, but the customer service sucks. My partner loves the elegant look of a french pedicure, in gel. Yes, He is a foot freak with OCD. He comes with me when getting my feet done to make sure they are perfect. (He tips good though) since she had done a good job the few times we had been there, I decided to try the acrylic designs. I regularly get some good work done at my regular spot but thought ID try something simple my first time there. Disaster. The work wasnt good at all, sloppy, lifted 2 days later, and were plain ugly. I was so disappointed. For now ill stick with my toes and wait till i see some better work before I try my hands again. My job requires that I keep my nails fresh clean interesting etc... I went here last week and got a pedi and some acrylics. The pedi was finished before I could blink my eye but I went along with it. I was content with my acrylics. The problem arose when I got home and showered. That's when I realized the polish on my toes had shriveled up and peeled. Not even a day later but the same day. I was totally disgusted...$30 plus tip for a pedicure that lasted 2.5 seconds. I returned the following day just to hear pure excuses and B.S. from the Colombian chic. The salon is absolutely beautiful, however the people working here need lessons in salon etiquette. Only one person actually speaks English and she isn't always around. The one lady that I like to do my nails is superb, however the "manager" and another worker talked about everyone in Spanish, not knowing that I speak Spanish! So, I've recently started coming to this Elite about two months ago (literally have been here twice, once per month) and so far I must admit I've had great experiences both times. I used to visit the Elite on Southern Blvd because it's literally a five minute walk from my job but my nail tech left a few months ago so it left me with no choice but to go on the hunt for a new place to go. The only reason why I relocated it because the nails I like to get require a lot of time and patience as well as talent because I'm into very artsy nails and not many people can fulfill what I usually ask for. I figured since this was the same company, just a different location, I would stop by and give them a try so I asked the receptionist at the front desk if they had a nail tech who knew how to do the designs I wanted (I showed her a few examples of the designs I typically like) and she said yes, she does so I started going to this lady named Jennifer and so far, I have zero complaints! She is wonderful and is able to take my vision and turn it into reality. She is definitely a very talented nail tech and very devoted to her craft! Just recently, I wanted holiday nails and she literally stayed with me until almost 11pm to make sure they were finished and on point! I know I'm pretty new to this location but the staff appears to be very friendly and professional but also pretty laid back and provides a relaxing environment. The salon itself is also very clean and I love the white marble floors! It's also very convenient being that it's located right in Parkchester so it's very accessible by many buses and the 6 train is right across the street! read more

I have been getting my nails done for years and I can tell that the person who did my nails at this salon had no idea what she was doing. Let's start off with the fact that she glued the wrong size nail on and when she realized this, she used the circular mechanical nail file to scrape it down and then pull it off the rather than soaking it. This was obviously scraping off my natural nail and making it unnecessarily thin in the process. It was also painful. ( I don't know why I didn't leave after that! But I thought hm it's just one mistake, give them a chance.) Next: she cut the nails down with a pair of small scissors rather than the normal nail clippers that are used for this process. Idk if they're trying to be cute or what but it's not smart because it leaves the nails flimsy and jagged and she clearly didn't have the training to make sure they would come out even afterward. I had to point out that multiple nails were different lengths. Moving along.. I got a dip powder full set done, it took over an hour for this whole process to be done and no there was not a wait. The whole process itself took over an hour. The nails were way too thick, the corners were wide... it was laughable. Then they topped it off with ONE coat of clear nail polish. At that point I was like whatever because I knew I'd have to go home and fix them. I had to file them down to a reasonable level of thickness and repaint them with a normal amount of polish by myself at home. Look, this is a genuine review. I don't like bringing anyone's business down. I feel bad because the place looks nice and they were polite and it was relatively clean but I don't think they're ready to be open. The girl that did my nails didn't know what she was doing and yes it's true they do have a huge language barrier, which wouldn't be a problem if they knew what they were doing and if they had a list of services with pricing on the wall like a normal salon , but they don't. That makes it hard for us to communicate what's wrong or figure out exactly what services they offer. I'm giving an extra star because she was a nice girl smh and because they were clean. I went back to them and while they were polite and willing to correct the issue the next morning the polish was again stripping on all of my nails. Horrible pedicure and horrible customer service. I had an appointment for manicure and pedicure but still had to wait 15 minutes to be seen for my pedicure, which's first I thought was fine. After my pedicure was finished, I was told to have a seat and wait for someone to do my hands. I made an appointment so why should I have to wait over 35 minutes?! Someone else came in (walk-in) and they helped the person right away. There was a nail technician that took her but left me waiting there. I got up and told them I wanted to pay for my pedicure and I explained I have been waiting for a while but someone else was seen first.m and that I wasn't going to wait any longer for this manicure. The woman who charged me didn't care and gave me an attitude. Also, the woman who did my pedicures was horrible and I literally have a corner of my toe not painted. Actually, 2 nails! Save your money and go somewhere else. This place is a waste of time and money. One thing to keep in mind is that the people who do your manicure don't do your pedicure.
