They saw me on several different occasions without even checking into my insurance, and charged me the $50 co-pay at each visit. Months later, I am receiving a bill from Inovia Vein for all services. Had they called my insurance company for benefits prior to my first appointment, they would have been able to correctly tell me that they, in fact, Inovia Vein in Oregon is not covered under my Texas insurance policy and that I would be self-pay if I chose to continue care with them. Total incompetence on their part, and negligence for not verifying insurance coverage prior to my first visit.

A…read moreco-worker mentioned that he had just had leg surgery for vericose veins, which is a condition I've had for the last few years. He recommended Ionovia to me. I called them and made an appointment. Dr. Glister took a look and told me I would have to wear compression socks (ugh) for 90 days in order for Medicare to pay for it. He explained the process, which would be vein treatments for five straight days (my co-worker only needed two days but mine were worse) followed up by a review a week after the last treatment. Three months later, they started with two days on my left leg, then two days on my right leg and both legs on the fifth day. Each session lasts about 30 to 45 minutes. Upon arrival, I'm always immediately ushered into an exam room and after my leg is prepped Dr. Glister promptly appears and gets to work. He talks you through the process, letting you know when you'll feel a "pinch" (the numbing shot) and "burn" (the medication entering into your system. It's a little painful but tolerable, which is to be expected as it's surgery after all. Nitrous oxygen is available upon request, but I didn't bother. If you really hate shots, you can opt for valium but then you have to have someone drive you to and from the clinic. The bulging veins in my legs have disappeared, I'm happy to report. More importantly, my risk of stroke has gone with it. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the process and the result.
