The last question was "do you have time for me twice a week?" He assured me he was familiar with my conditions and how to treat them and that twice a week was not a problem. I hired him and began treatment the following week. After being a twice a week patient for well over a year, I showed up on a Tuesday for my regular appointment. As I began riding the bike, Gerrino approached me, stopped the bike, stood me up and said " I DONT HAVE TIME FOR YOU TODAY" and he led me to the front door. I'm not a confrontational person so I let it go. When I arrived home, I called the front desk to verify I had an appointment. It was confirmed. I was told Gerrino would call me. He never did. I sent him a very complimentary and respectful email asking for an explanation. What I received was an impersonal, partially cut and paste email which showed not only did Gerrino not value me as a patient, he had no clue as to my medical needs. I was told I was being "prioritized" to once a week. No discussion. I summarily fired him with my return email. I have been witness to several people coming in to that office exasperated because they can't get a return phone call. My experience has been the same. You will never get a live person on the phone. Christine at the desk is great. The phone system - not so much. Overall, this practice is far too busy and their customer appreciation could use some work. There are some good folks here. Kyla is excellent. PT assistant Brendan Ladino has always been top notch. They have interns who are always helpful. From & Function is too busy. Too busy to treat clients with dignity and respect.

None of the previous places were able to reduce the pain or improve my flexibility. I lived with constant pain which caused me to use medication to limit the discomfort. So when a friend referred me with her experience at Form & Function I decided to try and see if they could help. My first impression when I walked in was that the facility layout and equipment was different from the multiple places I have tried in the past. I met the Owner Gerrino and he then conducted my personal evaluation in detail.I showed images of the surgeries and detailed my struggle and pain levels. His evaluation included checking my back area where the pain was and then using massage technique to help reduce the pain.. It was obvious he cared, It was his manner and honesty that convinced me to try again. That was a year ago with a few breaks during which I went in for maintenance plus getting a new evaluation. The treatment plan included a group of stretches that I could also do at home which helped keep the pain level low and have improved my quality of life. I have increased my steps count year over year as well. In additionI significantly reduced my medications with all the side effects.. Form & Function, the staff, Gerrino, Brendan, Christine, Michelle plus all the interns have one goal and that is the obvious. They are kind, caring professionals and make the experience as good as it gets. I strongly recommend 100%: Form & Function.

First off I do a lot of manual labor for a living. So my back is pretty much essential to my…read morelivelihood. I tweaked something while working. I went to a regular physician and this doctor said that I should take it easy, try not to move a lot, and gave me some pain medication. Said if it's not better after a week come back. Week goes by and I'm in even more pain. Says the same thing. Another week no progress. Which leads me to Dr. Smith. Knew exactly what was wrong pretty much instantly! Put me on a stretching program, did some stretches during office visits, and most definitely accelerated my healing. Told me I should be moving as much as possible and stay active. Completely opposite to what I was told initially. After continued stretches and regular visits my back healed and was as good as new! Got me back to work fully healed. So if any back or spine issues I highly recommend Dr. Smith! If anything similar ever occurs like that again I know where I'm going.

Not impressed at all with Ortho RI. Have a fractured leg. I downloaded and figured out the problem…read morewith my PCP before the Ortho PA finally called me and told me not to walk on my leg. I had called looking for a diagnosis before they called me. I was told to stay off the leg, but at the same time told to come back and walk into the building to get crutches. I was then handed the crutches by some tech with zero explanation on how to use them. I asked for the PA or doc and the tech did his best to contact them, but he came back down and said nobody was available. Ortho RI ordered PT for me but then sent the PT org older visit notes which did not include the diagnosis of the fracture. PT person showed up at my home and was surprised when I told them. Luckily, I had downloaded the MRI report so she knew what is going on. The PT tech seems to be more of an advocate for me and supplied more info to me than Ortho RI. Ortho RI has a message system on their website but when I asked how to use it, they told me that it is not operational. I'm seriously considering changing my ortho doc. I still haven't seen the doc anyway, because all you get to see is the PA.

Absolutely Frustrating…read more I am beyond disappointed with my experience with Ortho RI. First, we waited six months for an MRI--and yes, I understand insurance played a major role in that delay. But once we finally got everything moving and were ready to get the care that was needed, I expected the doctor's office to actually handle the medical coordination that comes with being a doctor's office. Instead, I received a message telling me to contact our PCP and get the referral myself. At what point did patients become responsible for doing the administrative work that medical offices are supposed to coordinate? We already waited six months. We finally got things in order, and rather than helping move the process forward, the responsibility was simply pushed back onto us. The medical field has gotten completely out of control. Patients are already navigating insurance companies, referrals, appointments, paperwork, delays, and months of waiting while trying to get answers and treatment. The LAST thing we should have to do is chase down every piece of the process ourselves because an office doesn't want to handle it. I don't expect special treatment. I expect competence, communication, and basic patient care. Six months of waiting only to be told, essentially, "You go figure out the referral" is beyond frustrating. Patients deserve better than being treated like an inconvenience when we're simply trying to get the care we were referred for in the first place.

Dr. Kelley is the most kind and giving man I've ever met…read more 30 years ago, he and his wife sponsored my family from Vietnam. They didn't know who we were, but wanted to help. They saved our lives. Despite having 3 kids of their own, they adopted an orphan from Vietnam. And since sponsoring us, they have sponsored 4 other families from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. I don't know if you all know what a burden it is to sponsor a family. You are physically and finanacially responsible for these people until they can get on their feet. It's easier said than done. Just imaginge a whole family of strangers (who don't speak your language) living with you. They have opened up their hearts and their home for people in need. And for the past 23 years, Dr. Kelley has been traveling to Haiti ( a place in political turmoil) twice a year to work in the local hospital and help with the local orphans. He and his wife will be traveling there next year to also help reform the educational system. What a truly wonderful man! If you live in this area, is there any doubt as to which doctor you should see?

Kelley needs to be recognized as a great Dr. as well as a humanitarian. It does not surprise me to see what Tu D. wrote about Dr. Kelley, I knew that he went to Haiti twice a year and that he had adopted a child from Vietnam but the sponsorship of families was something I didn't know about, but that really doesn't surprise me.... I've had Dr. Kelly as my PCP for a few years now and have always found him to be an incredibly caring individual who also is a really good, practical, doctor. don't expect a lot of bells and whistles when you go to his office, in fact he will probably complain to you about how the "damn computers" are making his life as a doctor a living hell... Do expect to find someone who will listen to you, treat you as an expert in your own care, and work with you to fix whatever is broken. He doesn't automatically reach for the prescription pad, but may just tell you why your mom was right about chicken soup is good for you when you have a cold and the science behind it.... I would strongly recommend that anyone go to see Dr. Kelley, being a good guy goes a long way in being a good doctor... and he's a great guy.
