The person who is taking you there and taking you home cannot leave the premises. So you are there for 4-5 hours or longer just waiting. They even make you sign saying you won't leave the premises. It's a big inconvenience and totally unnecessary. When asking why they require this they have no answer. You get 2 calls. One from the doctor after the surgery and another one to pick up the patient.

RE: Olivia Perry, PA. I was extremely disappointed with my visit with Olivia Perry, PA. In my…read moreexperience, there was essentially no meaningful physical assessment of my hip pain. Her response was basically, "You have hip pain? I'll order an MRI." She asked where my pain was, and when I pointed to the area, she tapped it with her index finger. That was the extent of the physical examination--and even that occurred only after I specifically asked whether she was going to examine me. As a retired Nurse Practitioner, I found this particularly concerning. I actually had to explain to her how to perform an appropriate assessment of hip pain and asked whether she was going to perform certain examination maneuvers used to help identify the source of hip pain. Her response was, "They didn't teach me that in school." I was stunned. A patient should not have to prompt a medical provider to perform a physical examination, and certainly should not have to teach the provider how to assess the condition for which the patient is being seen. Ordering an MRI is not a substitute for a competent history and physical examination. She also never called me with the MRI report. Luckily, I had the report and images and knew what to do. Based on my experience, I had no confidence whatsoever in the quality of the clinical assessment I received and would not recommend this provider.

The chiropractor dealt with the pain/posture, but Performance Physical Therapy has helped me "target" the injury with stretching and strength exercises. I've been working with Dr. Holt and Dr. Nogueira, who have both done an excellent job. Dr. Nogueira did an intake and had me do some basic stretches to identify the "source" of the injury. I've been seeing Dr. Holt about twice a week, who has been supervising me, while I do exercises and stretches to ensure that I'm doing it correctly. They use an online portal to send you exercises to do at home. You can check off which ones you've done, take surveys and even earn points and badges. It's a lot of fun! They're social distancing regulations are really good. They tape off the waiting room, so you can't sit six feet from anyone else. They assess you for signs of COVID when you enter the office. When you enter the physical therapy area, they immediately ask you to wash your hands and record your temperature. Everyone is wearing masks/goggles and there is enough hand sanitizer going around to kill a baby elephant. In spite of this, I switched over to telehealth very easily, in order to be extra-safe. Really happy with the progress I've been making so far. Highly recommend!

I was a patient at RI Rehab last year after an ankle surgery. My doctor originally referred me to a…read morespecialist, but I chose RI Rehab for it's proximity to my house (I couldn't drive after my surgery) and the hours listed on the website. FIRST, For anyone considering RI Rehab for the convenience of the hours, don't. The East Providence location has very limited hours. In fact, the website in general is a bit deceiving, as it kind of lumps all of their information about all of their locations together. Once I was a patient there I found out a) they hardly had time to fit me into their limited schedule and perhaps shouldn't have taken me as a patient at all and b) had such limited hours vs what was listed on their website, that once I went back to work I was going to have to stop therapy against my doctors recommendations. There are a few great benefits to RI Rehab. One unique feature is the fact that they have use of the pool at Healthtrax, for aquatherapy. I found this to be incredibly helpful with my rehabilitation and something I could not have found in most other places. I'd also like to point out that my PT, Mary, was wonderful. She was probably the reason I didn't leave that place sooner. She really cared about her patients and enjoyed what she was doing. If you do end up at RI Rehab, hopefully you end up with Mary and you have a flexible schedule - because they usually didn't!

I was in a great deal of constant pain and my mobility was severely restricted. I was, however adament about keeping life on as normal a routine as possible. I chose RI Rehab in East Providence for their proximity to my job. They were happy to schedule my pt sessions around my full time work schedule. The friendly staff welcomed me like a new family member! each session, Justine, my therapist would recommend new challenges and celebrate my progress. Because my condition commonly takes several months to fully recover, it took a great deal of patience on her part and mine, but she never ran out of resources to keep me motivated and with proven results every week. For the attention I received, the friendships I formed (in a situation that would have been otherwise miserable), and the successful results we achieved, I would highly recommend RI Rehab in E. Providence to anyone!

I'm a very active person and being practically immobile wasn't going to cut it. My midwife suggested this place and I was glad to find a location minutes from my home. I started my therapy sessions with Kayla Whiting and she made such a difference for me. She was kind and professional and really understood the pain I was having so she was able to give me a solid treatment plan. I left a few sessions sore due to stretching and exercises but icing was always recommended and helped. The day after I'd always feel so much better. After a few sessions, my pain was almost completely eliminated. I could walk without pain again. Amazing! And I never needed any pain medicine. The sessions of heat, massage, stretching, and exercises (combined with my own daily stretching exercises at home prescribed by them) made the end of my pregnancy a breeze and will most certainly help me postpartum. I am so grateful for this place because they really understood exactly what I was going through. I went from not being able to walk without limping or get out of bed to speed-walking with ease and rolling out of bed like a champ. I could even carry my laundry basket down the stairs again and clean on all fours (though my husband still does not like that I do this lol). They are professional yet personable and I worked with a few other PT's there to make scheduling appointments easier. Overall, the advice, tips, and treatment have been very successful for me. I would most certainly come here in the future if I ever need a PT again.
