My husband had 2 knee procedures performed by Dr. Moss in the outpatient surgical unit here…read more Dr.Moss was responsive, warm, informative, and quite reassuring through the whole diagnosis process. He helped my husband make treatment decisions and was thorough in explaining what to expect day of, and following up. In addition, all of the staff in the facility were prompt, professional, and caring. We were so pleased with the service he received, so when I developed an issue with my hands and my PCO suggested seeing an orthopedic specialist, I called this practice. They were able to access my x-rays directly from RIMI, which I appreciated (no one wants to have to repeat tests). I saw a Fellow, who came in first to examine my hands and diagnose the problem (trigger finger - in both hands - that was causing pain, swelling, and lack of movement). Dr. Gil came in, confirmed the diagnosis - and let me know the treatment (steroid shot), and next line treatment (minor surgical procedure) if the steroid didn't cure the problem. He administered the shots in the exam room that day, letting me know that it might take a few days for reaction to be fully noticeable. Throughout my treatment too, the staff were helpful and offered great service. The Kettle Point facility is brand new, very clean, and a welcoming place to receive service. I'm mystified by the low ratings from others!

I've really enjoyed my experience at Performance Physical Therapy thus far. I injured by lower back…read morewhile working out about a year ago and have been seeing a chiropractor. The chiropractor dealt with the pain/posture, but Performance Physical Therapy has helped me "target" the injury with stretching and strength exercises. I've been working with Dr. Holt and Dr. Nogueira, who have both done an excellent job. Dr. Nogueira did an intake and had me do some basic stretches to identify the "source" of the injury. I've been seeing Dr. Holt about twice a week, who has been supervising me, while I do exercises and stretches to ensure that I'm doing it correctly. They use an online portal to send you exercises to do at home. You can check off which ones you've done, take surveys and even earn points and badges. It's a lot of fun! They're social distancing regulations are really good. They tape off the waiting room, so you can't sit six feet from anyone else. They assess you for signs of COVID when you enter the office. When you enter the physical therapy area, they immediately ask you to wash your hands and record your temperature. Everyone is wearing masks/goggles and there is enough hand sanitizer going around to kill a baby elephant. In spite of this, I switched over to telehealth very easily, in order to be extra-safe. Really happy with the progress I've been making so far. Highly recommend!

My doctor originally referred me to a…read morespecialist, but I chose RI Rehab for it's proximity to my house (I couldn't drive after my surgery) and the hours listed on the website. FIRST, For anyone considering RI Rehab for the convenience of the hours, don't. The East Providence location has very limited hours. In fact, the website in general is a bit deceiving, as it kind of lumps all of their information about all of their locations together. Once I was a patient there I found out a) they hardly had time to fit me into their limited schedule and perhaps shouldn't have taken me as a patient at all and b) had such limited hours vs what was listed on their website, that once I went back to work I was going to have to stop therapy against my doctors recommendations. There are a few great benefits to RI Rehab. One unique feature is the fact that they have use of the pool at Healthtrax, for aquatherapy. I found this to be incredibly helpful with my rehabilitation and something I could not have found in most other places. I'd also like to point out that my PT, Mary, was wonderful. She was probably the reason I didn't leave that place sooner. She really cared about her patients and enjoyed what she was doing. If you do end up at RI Rehab, hopefully you end up with Mary and you have a flexible schedule - because they usually didn't!

I chose RI Rehab in East Providence for their proximity to my job. They were happy to schedule my pt sessions around my full time work schedule. The friendly staff welcomed me like a new family member! each session, Justine, my therapist would recommend new challenges and celebrate my progress. Because my condition commonly takes several months to fully recover, it took a great deal of patience on her part and mine, but she never ran out of resources to keep me motivated and with proven results every week. For the attention I received, the friendships I formed (in a situation that would have been otherwise miserable), and the successful results we achieved, I would highly recommend RI Rehab in E. I arrived 10 minutes early for my evaluation, and waited over 15 minutes past the appointment time, the entirety of the time not being acknowledged by anybody. Instead of getting Dr. McVay, I was seen by Isaac. I feel as though the visit was a complete waste of time and money and pain, for my conditions' symptoms are exacerbated by sitting and standing and by the time Isaac was ready to evaluate me, multiple body parts had flared significantly. The only available room was down a flight of stairs, which I had great difficulty navigating with my knee chondromalacia patella and Hoffa's fat pad impingement. I told them that I can't use stairs. I requested specifically help with adhesive capsulitis, and regaining full range of motion in my other shoulder, which has a labral tear and tendinosis of the rotator cuff. I was told three times during the evaluation that Isaac had no idea what to do for me and he told me that I did the rehab rehabilitation successfully myself. I still cannot do overhead motions of my daily living activities. I have difficulty stretching my quads because of stage four osteoarthritis of the patella in which case a PT could manually stretch a patient in prone position with a hand stabilizing the sacrum and the other hand manipulating the stretch, but he didn't offer that he also refused thoracic manipulation, which is what my doctor had said I needed because "it wouldn't be a one time fix". Physical therapy is not a "one time fix all" approach but a maintenance program especially for people with disabilities like myself. I feel like I was not taken seriously I left the visit with no instructions and no accommodating time frames to be seen again in the afternoons until a month later. Will not be returning; do not recommend.

I'm a very active person and being practically immobile wasn't going to cut it. My midwife suggested this place and I was glad to find a location minutes from my home. I started my therapy sessions with Kayla Whiting and she made such a difference for me. She was kind and professional and really understood the pain I was having so she was able to give me a solid treatment plan. I left a few sessions sore due to stretching and exercises but icing was always recommended and helped. The day after I'd always feel so much better. After a few sessions, my pain was almost completely eliminated. I could walk without pain again. Amazing! And I never needed any pain medicine. The sessions of heat, massage, stretching, and exercises (combined with my own daily stretching exercises at home prescribed by them) made the end of my pregnancy a breeze and will most certainly help me postpartum. I am so grateful for this place because they really understood exactly what I was going through. I went from not being able to walk without limping or get out of bed to speed-walking with ease and rolling out of bed like a champ. I could even carry my laundry basket down the stairs again and clean on all fours (though my husband still does not like that I do this lol). When you're post-injury/surgery, it's very easy to overly avoid challenging yourself out of fear of causing more damage. I fell into the same rut, but after giving in and listening to Matt, I found myself healing way faster than I expected. It's a small operation but they have a nice assortment of equipment, including a pool for aquatherapy downstairs. If I'm ever in need of PT again, this place will be my first choice.
