I wish I could give this person a negative star. He scammed me and my husband out of $5,400 deposit for materials and contractor services in September 2022. He's quick to take your deposit money but then disappears and comes up with a plethora of lies of "why he can't do the work". He's a liar and a scam/con artist and it looks like he's been doing this since 2016/2018. He goes by multiple names and fictitious business names. He introduced himself as Brandon from Beach Renovations when his real name is Chester Burton Grice. We finally were able to get him subpoenaed and have court in Brunswick Courthouse tomorrow, 8/8/23. Started out great! But when more lucrative post hurricane jobs were available and after me paying $50,000 for renovations...I have dealt with drug addicts using drugs on the job. finding needles and liquor bottles in my yard....Plumbing hooked up backwards, gas leaks at my stove, outlets hanging out of the walls, light fixtures hanging out of the ceiling, loose tiles in kitchen and bathroom, holes in ceiling, humps in new sheet rock. Sink fell out of the vanity. unfinished hardwood floor, plywood for windows in kitchen, no shower door in the bathroom, holes in sub floor open to the ground under my house, and much much more. All of which has been paid for by me. ALL guys were pulled off my job in order to start a new job that he did not want to lose. SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL. We had a signed contract. He did NOT even pull building permits and I cannot locate a contractors license even though the website says fully licensed and insured. If you use these guys good luck and have lots of money available.... The guys that came to work at my house either had ankle bracelets, just got out of jail or drug addicts using while on my job! Today(oct 24 2018) my $500 range hood fell off the wall. We also paid $1000 for windows that we never received! Just plywood covering the window holes in my kitchen! We found all kinds of wiring issues that could have killed us according to the electrical inspector and licensed electrician that came out. I've added pictures! Please Please...See new pictures and run far away from this company! Addition....just added new pics....apparently our wall that was removed was load bearing and they didn't properly support it so it's caving in. The 2 side beams are buckling and the walls are separating! This company is SCARY!!!! Addition.....the tile in the bathroom has come loose and when we pulled it up there are patched random pieces of wood that are uneven and have to be replaced. Please see all pictures for added proof on my google review of this criminal! We have a licensed electrician that has told us how lucky we are that the house hasn't burned down. Just found the dryer was spliced in to my heat pump 220 wire! Could have burned up my $10k heat pump! Lawsuits will coming soon! He is being investigated currently by Attorney General, NC Contractor Licensing Board, NC plumbing licensing board, NC Electrical Licensing Board. If I could give this company negative stars, I would. I had to fire them 2 weeks into a job that should have taken 1 week. They were calling my wife a bitch, delivering substandard materials, and trying to force work that wasn't to code in my home. After I fired them for these horrible issues, they tried to coerce me into paying an extra 20% on top of the original contract for my cancellation by filing a lien with the county. A lien that was filed illegally. We're not the first people they've done this too. One more thing, he won't tell you, but "Burt's" real name is Chester Grice. Avoid at all cost! Will not return phone calls, texts or emails. Does not finish on time if the job is even finished at all. He replaced a roof for us following Hurricane Florence, but has not contacted us concerning completion of mold/mildew issues... this has been going since May 2019. After reading other reviews, now I feel I must get someone to inspect the roof he replaced. Office manager is quite inappropriate at well. All in all, take your business somewhere else in the Wilmington area! read more

Can't do the work. It's been 75 days and zero work done. Despite having signed contract that states work will begin within 3-5 days, and deposit money being paid (even the extra deposit required due to ordering delays that caused the price to increase). Don't communicate very well. Don't show up for scheduled installation dates (5 to be exact). Do not coordinate when missed. Make you call, email, text multiple times before responses weeks later with just more excuses. I do not recommend this company unless they get all of this fixed. I just want my full deposit monies back, but they can't even do that apparently. read more

We hired Burt Grice and his company, All in One Contracting after Hurricane Florence in November 2018 to give us a brand new roof and do quite a bit of work on the inside of our home. We moved into a hotel since we have young kids for the work, when we returned we were shocked and so disappointed. The work was done complete, paint and sheetrock was everywhere. They used our hairdryer, broke my vacuum (clogged with sheetrock), paint on my childrens art table, paint on carpet, the wall was not cut out all the way, they did not remove the insulation in the wet walls, it was horrible. Then we later discovered that our roof was NO good at all, it is not the correct shingle that we agreed to according to the contract Burt and I signed, when we contacted him about it his fiancée Jamie Burns emailed me back threatening to sue us for defamation of character. We have pictures, video and numerous professionals that have documented just how bad our roof was. Jamie Burns also leaves positive reviews for husband to be so most of the positive reviews are from her or her crew. In addition, the valley on roof was cut horribly wrong, by NC code they must be 6 nails per shingle I do not have that maybe 4 per shingle if that, lots of nails exposed which means they were not sealed off properly. We found out by people literally walking by around Superbowl Sunday so we hired inspectors to come out to see if it was true. Now we are having to buy a brand new roof out of pocket and we are going to have the inside of our home redone again. Burt Grice did not complete the work, the work that was done was done so poorly we consider it negligence, oh and our ladder and gas can went missing, our shop vac filter was filled with sheetrock so spent money replacing those things. We thought choosing local was best, but in this case it was the worst decision we ever made. read more

Theft, pure and simple. Signed a contract to have a backsplash, tile shower and siding repair. Had a revolving door of workers and all that was completed was the backsplash, took five days for one backsplash and they left my place a disaster area with grout everywhere. Apparently fixed the siding at one point when we were not there. Worst was that i paid him a 50% deposit, and he will not return the rest even though the work was never completed. On several occasions, he informed me that the job cost more than he had it priced (my house was too far, took longer, etc), and that he would refund me something but not all that was owed. He quoted the job, picked up the check at my house so clearly knew where it is, and apparently he does not understand that when you quote something and sign a contract, that is the price, it cannot be adjusted after the fact. I have tried in good faith to get a response from him and nothing. So, I am now forced to pursue him legally which I really did not want to have to do. Stay far away from this company; there are a lot of good, honest contractors out there but this one is not one of them. I do want to say that I have never felt strongly enough to leave a bad review before, this is a first for me. read more

After searching 4 days and what seemed like weeks I finally got the right company that saved my home after the total disaster following the storm the all-in-one owner and employees were very prompt on-time and polite what I love most is the rush and concern following are despair and regardless we were staying in our RV we were back in our home in no time as if nothing had ever happened and the work was so beautiful I'm now planning with my wife the addition I've been wanting for years I'm very grateful to the crew members that worked hard till they had no daylight left to get us back in our home not to mention the unimaginable custom work discussed and proven read more

If you ever find yourself being solicited by this company then I've got three words of advice for you..run..Run..RUN..I should have researched this company before I ever hired them. They're super nice when trying to sell you their services but In my case that changed drastically. I was told two weeks tops is all it would take...I promise,only two weeks. I hired him in September, we moved our furniture and ourselves out at the beginning of December thinking we would be back in by Christmas..We didn't get back in til the last week of February and it still wasn't done..I fired him and that's when the true Burt came out. Threatening me with frivolous lawsuits that didn't make sense and oh the name calling..If anyone had a lawsuit it was me but all I wanted was to get back in my home. He gave me so many dates that he would be done by and didn't make ANY of them. Time after time I recruited help to get the furniture back in my house and then last minute had to cancel. After I fired him he refused to move the dumpster from my driveway and the big pile of trash he put next to it...not even my trash, it was trash from a nearby job he was doing, yet he still refused to pick it up. I could go on and on about this company, everything that I've had to go back and fix, and then do all the work that he promised to do but didn't...but I figure people get the jest of what I'm trying to say ...I also know for one hundred percent sure that some of his friends wrote reviews on here, and you can probably guess which ones...So if you get anything out of this review get this..run, run, run... read more
