I love this place. I had been looking for a dress for a wedding and after scouring all the stores in Oakbrook this gem of a store saved me. I had purchased a dress I kinda like at Neiman. I decided to see what Elite had and low and behold I found 2 St.John dresses in pristine condition. I tried them both on and the owner said they fit me perfectly and they did like they were tailored for me. I needed up buying both for $210 total!! Returned the $1200 dress I got at Neiman. I had so many compliments on the dress at the wedding I wore it too. The other dress I'm saving for this summers wedding. My 24 year daughter finds things for work that are like brand new. She loves this place too! The collections of St.John items here is wonderful. The owner and I ended up chatting for over an hour. I happened to be there on-a day this women was trying to steal things. Thanks to all of ridiculous policies going on now it's very hard to stop the retail theft which is a shame. I have to admit, I used to sell unwanted clothing here. However, I stopped because I was tired of being treated poorly by the owner, who found it necessary to negatively comment on everything including the width of my feet. Apparently, some of my clothing items had been "stolen" because when I returned to pick unsold items up, they could not be found and I was never financially reimbursed for them. Aimee M. and I decided we needed some retail therapy before the big Country Club bash. Rachel J. came to the rescue by suggesting we hit up Elite Repeat. And being that all three of us are Yelp Elite, who am I to say no to a store that so clearly has our best interests at heart? Aimee was looking for a summery hat and accessories. I specifically wanted faux pearls to go with my vintage dress. We both found what we were looking for and then some. I walked away with a gorgeous multi-use necklace, an art deco belt and a sexy little number I pulled from the back rack. I'd go into more detail about it, but I plan to wear it to an Elite Event and don't want to spoil the surprise. But I will say that I was expecting it to be 4x what I paid for it ($15). It was clearly a favorite of the ladies working there. Hats, shoes, bags, dresses, suits, sweaters, pants, belts, buckles and jewelry. They have a little bit of everything and it's all reasonably priced. Most items I looked at were between $15-80. They do have a wide selection of designer and high-quality vintage that goes for hundreds of dollars, but it's still 50%+ off the original price. The only thing I noticed that made the clothes shopping part of it difficult is that there weren't many dresses or outfits above a size 8. They have some larger sizes scattered throughout the shop. You just have to be willing to look for them. The inventory changes, things come and go, so I could have just come at a time when a collective of skinny people were getting rid of their stuff. read more

What an unusual place. I would not return. Not much for us big girls. I would not discourage you though. Unusual apparel. I saw quite a few Bob Mackie pieces. Mackie blouse was $15. St. John pieces also. A beautiful white sequined dress I would use for a wedding dress was $200. The pieces they have are more upscale. This is no Goodwill. Don't let the addie fool you. Cute old house located off Ogden in Clarendon Hills. Wobbly floors in the many rooms hold treasures galore. It's a fun place to explore and you never know what you will find. As someone else mentioned, they do have a ton of St. John knits. It's what old rich women in Hinsdale wear, kind of like their uniform. I have gotten some great jewelry items and sunglasses here. They even have some cool and unique pics and other home decor stuff, that is not their specialty but they have some hidden here and there. Great place to go with a girlfriend or sister. read more

I have shopped here before without success but recently stopped in to look for something specific. Although they didnt have it, I ended up buying a toasty fashionable wool sweater and a pin for under $25! Hit or miss like most consignment but unlike at the other known consignment store in Hinsdale, these ladies are sweet and helpful and appreciative of your business. I ll probably consign with them going forward because they write checks weekly without forcing consignors to jump thru hoops that the other local consignment stores make you do and pay out on arbitrary days ! I would give zero stars, but am not afforded that option. I am aghast at the telephone treatment I received. I grew up in the area and consigned and shopped at Elite Repeat for many years. Back in the area now, I have several severely cute Betsey Johnson party dresses, a vintage lace wedding dress, handbags..... and true eagerness to sell/share these as I can no longer wear them. I phoned the store for information on the process, as I am sure things have progressed, and the man on the operator end cut me off with "without a contract number, I cannot help you". What is that? Tucked in a converted carriage house/garage lies treasures of times past and present. It is as ramrod as a consignment shop can be, with the selection and organization of everything. They have a very large selection of upscale clothing for fair prices. Everything is in perfect condition. No missing buttons, marks, tears, lose threads.......nothing! The elderly lady that I assume was the owner was friendly but I was taken aback when she told my girlfriend who looked at two handbags that she needed to carry large handbags. Was this because she is a plus size woman?? If you like St John this is the place for you because they had tons. I did find a pair of vintage Chanel earrings that I am almost certain are authentic. This resale store has a great selection of high end designer items, but the customer service is lousy. I have been consigning items for many years and I have never been treated so shabbily. For example, consigning with them is a story unto itself. As soon as I bring my items in and place it on the rack for the owner to see she will reject them immediately. Saying no,no, no this is out of fashion. She is very rude and inconsiderate. She has also insulted my weight when she sees an iems to consider and notices that the item runs large. "You don't look like a 8 you look like a 14. Or she will hold up an in-style, dry cleaned Liz Claiborne blouse and give me a dirty look and say "I don't think so!" I don't need this! Don't be fooled by the outside appearance! You can find awesome fashion gems in this place including vintage St. John outfits!!! Every time I go in one of the owners is always there. They are a VERY sweet elderly couple who seem to know a lot about what they are doing. They are always happy to explain and answer questions. Because of its location they get a lot of high end items from david yurman jewels to chanel pumps to prada outfits etc. The prices are reasonable mostly and the store is always packed with stuff. Since its a resale shop, its kind of hit or miss sometimes but its always fun to look through the stuff. They have weird hours so I would call before making a trip there. I"m giving this place one star only because it was open. I came in to inquire the proceedure for going about selling some clothes I had from my mom who had recently passed. They were all about the same size, They were mostly Alfred Dunner in excellent shap, some even with the price tags still on. I wanted to see if these ladies might know of someone who liked that brand and would fit in her size. The response i got was that only larger women would want these clothes and they sell designer clothes that only small, petit women wear. I told them my mom was not large. The owner responded " size 14?" I told her no, my mother was a small top and a 10 proportioned sm bottom. She again replied that larger women tend to wear "those kind" of clothes and they cater to smaller women who wear designer clothes.She told me I wouldn't make any money on them. I told her I wasn't looking to make a lot of money just someone who wanted a good deal of some good clothes. She bent over very close to my face and wispered " SHE wouldn't make any money" because small women wear designer clothes and the people that would wear these clothes are large. I was shocked! I can't believe that people like her still existed and are in buisness who are so narrow minded and prejudice. She just lumped all larger people into a category that she decided wears less than desirable attire and only small women wear designer clothes!!!??? How completely arrogant and selfcentered not to mention insensitve. I could't believe what I was hearing. The other lady in the store looked as astounded as I was. I told her how condescending she was and told her I was out of there. She just about slammed the door in my back. Needless to say I would never patronize this place if it was the last place in the world to buy women's clothes. I'd make my own first. I wish I could leave -10 stars. Stopped in today and the elderly owner was as rude to me as anyone I have ever encountered EVER in a retail shop. I asked if she had any costume jewelry and she said No, but we TAKE it in and looked at me with a glitter in her eye, so they do take it, but they don't sell it. What?? Then she motioned to the back room and said "go back there" What??? I asked if there was jewelry there and she said No. I saw a tray and a large bin of costume jewelry and asked if I could look at it and she said NO very loudly turned her back and walked into another room. Arrogant, snobby, snotty, she has it all. Another customer walked up and tossed some clothes onto the checkout counter like they were trash and she said nothing to them. I would NEVER go back there as long as the old lady is there. I overheard her telling her buddies that "I wish my kids would buy me things I want, like rugs and sofas. Wow! I've been to Elite Repeat a few times, and each time I've been there, it has been astounding. I fell in love with the owner, Betty Wintz while I was there, as well as Bob Wintz. Betty is an amazing women with a lot of charisma. Whenever I walk into Elite Repeat, she is always there with a smile on her face asking how my day was. She is a very personal person with a lot of care and that shows in the store. The store has many many attractive items. Elite Repeats sells St. John, a lot of cashmere, and other designer brand names. I can say that I find the best prices there. Cashmere at Nordstrom's would cost about 150-200$, but I get mine at Elite Repeat for almost nothing!! Also, my sister found the perfect prom dress there!! It was unique and elegant. The clothing is in great condition, as well as the shoes and other accessories. The shop has a variety of things, but you must be willing to look. Betty and Bob along with Chris (their employee) have been working hard and always have exuberant attitudes. I would definitely recommend looking at the Elite Repeat Resale shop!! It's great! read more
