Randy does NOT deal professionally with the parents who are willing to pay money for the improvement of their athletes to become "elite" in their sport! Sadly we received nothing we expected. I'm hoping this is received as informative and not negative. The coaching staff was not a staff we had one coach when we were told every team had two. The coach we had was relentless in her approach to do as little coaching as necessary. the lineup remained the same the entire season loss after loss after we were told there were multiple lineups and plays they've been practicing. the only designed play performed was a slide that the middle taught to the setter. There was no team building effort on behalf of the club. When my daughter gave positive feedback and cheered from the sidelines, the coach who remained silent on the sidelines the whole season told her to stop. there was no positional training throughout the season. when the season began we were told the team was a national team and that is what we expected. the owner said the team should've been billed as an American team but they would play nationals so they would see they were out of their league. the positive we take from this season is our daughter learned to play through diversity and poor coaching and leadership. there was no redirection for the team members who didn't care about playing hard and no repercussion. I have less than little good to say about Elite east. We went to the owner to assert our concerns and It seems to me the club management cares little about the kids and their futures and mostly about numbers and money. read more

We were there last weekend for a volleyball tournament. We were highly disappointed in the experience. For a couple reasons. There were 4 courts with 2 sides that were available for spectators to sit on. We were told we could not go two deep on the sides. Mind you there were 4 teams on each court that is average of 80 adults per court. But the home team was able to go two rows deep. We were eventually allowed to go to the open end but we were dodging weight lifting equipment. Not appropriate for the amount of people that was. From what I heard there is another facility that could have handled the amount of people. Also no one was enforcing the general rule of if your child isn't playing go sit on the campsite court (county not being used) Second reason with roughly 250 people (mostly females). Given only one bathroom. Not acceptable! The snarky comments made by the owner was not professional. Other club fees should not matter or how many coaches there are. Upon watching the coach of the 12u team ... she is a yeller. Highly disappointed that she feels that she needs to yell at such a young team Please consider this when looking a club team or going to a tournament there. Thanks read more

I am parent of a young 12yr old girl that tried out for Elite this past weekend (13U, she is turning 13 in a couple of months). I was highly dissatisfied and appalled by how the tryouts were run and quite frankly I am very confused and disappointed. My girl tried out as a DS (defensive specialist) and was put on a court with about 50 other girls, both setters and defensive players. The only drill that communicated their skill to the administrator/coaches was one were they had to pass a ball to the setter. The ball was being tossed an another girl, which warranted a lot of bad tosses that were unable to be played. The whole drill was very chaotic and not well put together. There were many different girls all at once trying to get the ball and it was overall a very messy situation with some girls even falling down or getting stepped on. Mind you, these were tryouts, not a practice. One of the last "drills" they did was called queens. This is a very common GAME. I along with other parents thought it was completely inappropriate for a tryout. There was 4 courts and only one (the best court with all of the national players) was very monitored. Not to mention, most girls at the tryouts already had contracts that automatically gave them a spot on the teams. Overall, many girls left that tryout crushed and upset by how it was handled and the fact there were 50 girls that didn't make a team. I have been to this facility on a regular basis in 2017, 2018, and 2019. I've seen the gymnastics location where the various apparatus of the popular Olympic sport are. It will mesmerize both aspiring gymnasts and avid gymnastic fans to view. Also mesmerizing are the indoor volleyball courts. I have been going to this place for the private sand volleyball lessons. I have the lessons on one of the outdoor beach courts, which are always kept in top notch condition. I have been doing the activities on the court regardless of the weather. Whenever it's sunny and humid, it's exciting to be out on the court although the sun has intimidated my view (despite having sunglasses on) whenever I had to do service drills facing the South. Also, when it's sunny, I get a gorgeous sight of the blue sky whenever I dive on the sand, roll around, and look up. Even when its cloudy and a little cool, I still enjoy the lesson. My instructor is Sandra. She's affable and very knowledgeable about volleyball. Sandra provides tremendous credibility to the sport because she played it up to the college level and is currently involved with it in different capacities. She's taught me a little bit of everything regarding volleyball. I feel I've learned a lot from her. I hope to incorporate things that I learned the next time I play in sand volleyball matches. Even though I meet with Sandra to improve my volleyball skill set, I always get elated whenever she complements me on doing something decent. Also, she always says I did good at the conclusion of a lesson. I feel anybody who wants a lesson would like to work with Sandra because she teaches valuable things regarding volleyball and gives praise where it's due. One time, Sandra brought in a young girl, who plays volleyball and is pretty talented, to work with me during a lesson. I am one who gets intimidated whenever I'm around others who seem superior in terms of talent. But that wasn't the case at all that day. I felt it was fun doing the activities with that girl. Being with her taught me to appreciate others and teamwork in volleyball. After almost every play, she and I slapped high fives, which was neat. That girl made me feel like I was her friend. I hope I can have that identical feeling with other teammates the next time I play in matches. At the lessons, I've worn an Ohio State T-shirt, very short shorts, and an Ohio State visor. I feel this attire is perfect for sand volleyball. In 2017, I lost my visor once during a lesson. I was flabbergasted when this occurred. In 2018, I lost my visor a myriad of times. All of them resulted as I was rolling on the sand. It became comical, yet I was used to losing my visor. Sandra once said "Keep on losing your visor, huh?" It was the first time somebody said that I lost my visor. In my first lesson of 2019, Sandra tossed a ball to me during a drill and the ball knocked off my visor. In my final lesson at this facility, I did lose my visor as I dived for a ball and rolled on the sand. Despite having lost my visor a lot during the lessons here, I still enjoyed my time with Sandra. Randy, the owner, is humble. He seems like a man's man. Because of this, I've had nice conversations with him. Since he was an AVP beach volleyball player and a minor league baseball player, I've been elated to have had chances of talking to Randy. Elite Volleyball is a first rate place to spend time in with affable individuals who have tremendous knowledge about the sport. read more
